WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS will look to continue their climb up the Premier Table with a win against Brentford at Molineux on Saturday.

The Old Gold have come on leaps and bounds under Gary O’Neil’s guidance, as evidenced by their stunning 4-2 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Sunday,

That capital triumph coupled with results elsewhere has catapulted Wolves into the top half of the top-flight standings.

Seeking to move further up the table this weekend, the hosts will look to put another three points on the board at the expense of Brentford.

The Bees’ relegation fears heightened on Monday night when falling to a 3-1 defeat at home to Man City.

As such, Thomas Frank’s side are just three points above the relegation zone so they will be desperate to give themselves some much-needed breathing space with a win at Molineux.

Outright Betting

Wolves, who have avoided defeat in each of their previous three meetings with Brentford this season, are 11/10 favourites at Bet 365

Brentford have lost seven of their last eight Premier League matches and the bookies’ odds suggest another defeat could be in store, with the away win trading at 12/5 (Bet365) while the draw has been priced up at 13/5 (Bet 365).

Betting Angles

Given their current form, Wolves will attract plenty of attention from punters this weekend as odds-against shots, however I’m instead going to side with Over 2.5 Goals at 4/5 (888Sport).

Goals have been a recurring theme in games involving Wolves this season, with 16 of their 23 Premier League games producing a minimum of three match strikes, including eight of their 11 outings at home.

The home team have been transformed into a much more threatening attacking unit this season under Gary O’Neil, with the men from Molineux making the net bulge in 20 of their 23 Premier League assignments this term to date.

However, at the other end of the park, Wolves are far from watertight, having shipped at least one goal in 19 of their 23 Premier League matches this season, so they could struggle to tame a Brentford team that have netted in their last nine league games.

That being said, the Bees also have a habit of regularly leaving the back door open, having failed to silence their opponents in each of their last 12 top-flight tussles.

With all that in mind, coupled with the fact that overs has landed in 16 of the visitors' 22 league games this season (one of which was against Wolves), I’m more than happy to side with three match strikes at Molineux on Saturday at 4/5 (88Sport).

Dipping into the player fouls market, I’ll also take Wolves' Craig Dawson to give away at least one free-kick on Saturday at 5/6 on PaddyPower.

The Wolves stopper has been reprimanded by the referee once or more in seven of his last 12 Premier League appearances and he should have his hands full here with Brentford duo Ivan Toney and Neal Maupay.

Given that Dawson has committed exactly two fouls in three of his last six top-flight outings, the 4/1 (PaddyPower) about a repeat this weekend also looks too big to ignore.

This match between Wolves and Brentford will be played on Feb 10, 2024 and kick off at 15:00. Check below for our tipsters best Wolves vs Brentford prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
