TWO of the Premier League's most off-form teams meet at Molineux on Saturday when managerless Wolves entertain Nottingham Forest with both sides in the relegation zone.

It's very much a tale of managers for this Midlands clash. Both Bruno Lage and Steve Cooper were under pressure at their respective clubs after disappointing starts to the season.

Lage was shown the door though while Cooper was rewarded with a new contract.

Wolves suffered a huge blow this week when former Spain and Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui turned down the job for family reasons and they must start their hunt again.

They have been in dire form in this league this season – they've lost their last three games in the league without scoring a goal and have won just once in the Premier League this term.

But they have a great opportunity to beat the newly promoted Tricky Trees who are a point below them in the table.

After beating West Ham in their opening home game of the campaign they have nosedived. They at least managed to stop the rot in a pretty dismal game against Aston Villa on Monday night, but that was the only point they have collected out of a possible 18.

How the bookies view it

You need to be a brave punter backing Wolves at odds-on even against Forest, but they are short as 4/7 in places. The 7/10 on offer from UniBet is the best price out there.

Nottingham Forest can be backed at 9/2 with Betfred and the draw is 11/4 wth bet365.

Recent head to heads

For what it's worth, they were last in the same league five years ago and there were away wins apiece in the Championship.

Wolves won 4-0 at Forest in the last meeting between the teams in the League Cup last year.

Players to watch

Diego Costa is back in English football and has yet to score in his two appearances yet for Wolves. He's 34 now, but will be desperate to get off the mark and he can be backed at 2/1 with bet365.

Emmanuel Dennis finally got off the mark after his £20 million summer move from Watford with that Monday night goal against Villa. He is 9/2 with William Hill to score on Saturday.

Anything else catch the eye?

It would appear to be madness to back any of these teams given their wretched form and certainly not at odds-on.

It's impossible to make a strong case for either side and the draw looks the sensible call in a game that could be edgy. It's unlikely to be a thriller.

Given these two teams are the lowest scorers in the league – Wolves have a paltry three in nine games and Forest have seven, it's a surprise not to see under 2.5 goals heavy odds-on and UniBet's 13/16 for unders look perfectly acceptable.

For a small stake, take a punt on a 0-0 draw too at 11/1 with 10Bet.
