AFTER Brendan Rodgers' Celtic departure ended up as the most acrimonious split since Brexit he'll be desperate for a smooth start to life as Leicester's new manager.

The Northern Irishman has been branded a snake and a fraud by furious Hoops fans after deserting them on the brink of a historic treble treble but was warmly welcomed by Foxes supporters in midweek.

His mere presence in the stands was enough to inspire his new players to a 2-1 home win over Brighton – their first success in eight games – and he looks an ideal fit for the club with his talent for developing players and an excellent young squad at his disposal.

He'll also bring a slicker, more attractive passing style of play than predecessor Claude Puel who leaves the club in 11th place in the Premier League.

The new gaffer's first game in charge takes him to Vicarage Road, where he began his managerial career, to face eighth-placed Watford who are looking to bounce back quickly from Wednesday night's 5-0 hammering at Liverpool.

Rodgers has never won his opening league match at the helm in his four previous English jobs (two losses and two draws) but will hope to become the sixth successive Leicester boss (including caretakers) to begin with a league top-flight victory.

His attacking philosophy should lead us to goals with the Foxes having conceded in their last seven league games while their games are averaging 2.6 goals this season.

So both teams to net looks good at 8-11 with William Hill and over 2.5 goals also tempts at evens with Betfair.

Leicester hitman Jamie Vardy will enjoy a new lease of life after Puel's gameplan failed to play to his strengths. Vardy bagged the first league goal under the last three Foxes managers – Puel, Craig Shakespeare and Claudio Ranieri – and can get the Rodgers reign up and running with an any time goal 17-10 at Unibet.

Watford full-back Jose Holebas is the joint dirtiest player in the league with 10 yellow cards in 23 appearances – including two in his last four – and is decent value at 13-5 with Skybet to be carded.

This match between Watford and Leicester will be played on Mar 3, 2019 and kick off at 12:00. Check below for our tipsters best Watford vs Leicester prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
