TWO of the Premier League’s in-form sides face off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, as Spurs entertain Everton.

Ange Postecoglou’s hosts hit something of a bump in the road after a blistering start to the season but they have got back up and running in recent weeks with a pair of back-to-back wins.

After thumping Newcastle 4-1 a fortnight ago Tottenham followed up that triumph with a 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest last Friday, on a night where both of my City Ground selections landed.

As such, the capital club go into the weekend sitting fifth in the table, just six points behind league leaders and fierce rivals Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Everton extended their winning streak in the Premier League to four matches with a 2-0 win at Burnley last weekend, in another game that brought up one of my Bet Builders.

That victory hauled the Toffees seven points clear of the relegation zone and they will be keen to give themselves more breathing space by toppling Tottenham on Saturday.

Outright Betting

Tottenham Hotspur are odds-on 4/5 favourites at Betfred to make it three league wins on the bounce.

Everton are winless in each of their last five Premier League meetings with Spurs and the bookies’ odds suggest that sequence will continue, with the Blues 3/1 (Bet 365) underdogs while the draw is an unfancied 16/5 (Bet 365).

Betting Angles

Tottenham will have their backers at the above-mentioned price but I’m prepared to take a more pragmatic approach by coupling up Tottenham Double Chance and Cristian Romero to commit a foul at 4/5 (PaddyPower).

While the hosts are worthy favourites here, they will be coming up against an Everton team who are in the midst of an excellent run of form at the moment and the visitors are certainly capable of keeping this contest competitive.

That being said, the Toffees could struggle to tame a Tottenham team who are the only side in the top-flight to have scored in all of their matches this season so far and I suspect that trend will continue against Sean Dyche's side on Saturday.

With that in mind, coupled with the possibility of the Merseysiders' midweek exertions taking their toll during this tussle, I'll back Tottenham to avoid defeat, but to boost the Bet Builder, I'll also take Cristian Romero to commit a minimum of one foul.

The World Cup winner has got on the wrong side of the referee at least once in seven of his last 10 Premier League appearances and he will almost certainly relish the physical battle that the Blues frontline will pose.

It's also worth noting that Spurs centre-half has been booked in three of his last four Premier League outings so a solitary foul doesn't feel like a huge ask in what should be a keenly contested affair.

I'm also going to highlight another Tottenham player who is thriving under Ange Postecoglou's management for the purposes of a separate player-based selection by having a small play on Pedro Porro to provide an assist at 9/2 with PaddyPower.

The Spurs inverted full-back has six assists to his name already this season – four of which have come across his last six appearances – so he looks worthy of interest at 9/2 (PaddyPower) to add to that tally when the Toffees come to town this weekend.

This match between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton will be played on Dec 23, 2023 and kick off at 15:00. Check below for our tipsters best Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
