OLIVER GLASNER got his Crystal Palace reign off to a flying start last weekend but facing Tottenham Hotspur on the road will present a much stiffer challenge than seeing off a 10-man Burnley side spiralling towards relegation.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt gaffer's first task is to steer the Eagles away from Premier League danger and that victory over Vincent Kompany's men sent them eight points clear of trouble in 13th place.

It took Crystal Palace a while to break down Burnley after Josh Brownhill's first-half red card but a late flurry of goals sealed a 3-0 victory and brought up a full house of tips for our man Gabriel.

Glasner will keen to keep the momentum building against Spurs ahead of games against Luton, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth that could effectively secure another season in the top flight.

But Tottenham Hotspur will be fresh after two weeks off, with the Carabao Cup Final and FA Cup fifth round keeping them on the sidelines. Ange Postecoglou's side headed into that mini break on a downer after losing at home to Wolves but still find themselves in the thick of a fight for Champions League football.

Spurs are now five points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa but they have a game in hand and a victory against Crystal Palace would set them up perfectly for a crunch trip to Villa Park next Sunday.

How the bookies view it

Tottenham Hotspur are heavy favourites with home advantage and their best price is just 13/25 at Unibet. Crystal Palace are as big as 11/2 with Bet365 while the draw pays 7/2 with most firms.

Recent head to head

Spurs won 2-1 at Selhurst Park earlier this season and have held the upper hand in this fixture of late, winning five of the last six meetings. The Eagles have a poor record away to Tottenham, losing seven in a row since an FA Cup win in 2016.

Players to watch

Son Heung-min would have enjoyed the two-week break more than most in Tottenham's squad after the exertions of being with South Korea at the Asian Cup. The forward scored against Crystal Palace earlier in the season and is 6/5 at BoyleSports to repeat the trick,

Spurs leave space in behind their full-backs and Glasner will be hoping Jordan Ayew can exploit that. The forward has netted in his last two outings and looks overpriced at 6/1 with Unibet for another goal.

Anything else catch the eye?

Tottenham Hotspur are usually good value for goals at both ends and they've kept just one clean sheet since the turn of the year. Glasner is renowned for setting teams up to attack as well so it bodes well for a decent game. Combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays 19/20 at Ladbrokes while over 1.5 first-half strikes is 27/20 at Coral.

Postecoglou's high defensive lines makes offsides another good option and backing over 3.5 Crystal Palace offsides pays 5/4 with SkyBet. Betting on over 5.5 match offsides also appeals at evens with the same firm.

Tottenham Hotspur's defence always gives the opposition chances so it could pay to back some Eagles players for shots on target. Ayew looks good at 6/4 with Bet365 to test the keeper while centre forward Jean-Philippe Mateta is 10/11 at Paddy Power for the same bet.
