Torino continue their quest for survival as they host Parma in a Monday night Italian Serie A fixture at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. The Turin club’s home form has been crucial in recent weeks and they should have the upper hand over a poor Parma team.

Torino were punished for a slow start last time out in Serie A as two early goals saw them suffer a 2-0 defeat to Napoli. They eventually found their rhythm in the game but failed to get past a solid Napoli back line.

Despite the defeat, the Turin club are still outside the bottom three, although they are level on points with Benevento in 18th place. Manager Davide Nicola will be keen to put that result behind him and make a swift return to winning ways.

Torino’s home form has been pivotal in recent weeks as they head into Monday’s match with just two defeats from their last seven matches in Turin. Among their recent results in that run is a 3-2 victory over Sassuolo while they also defeated Roma 3-1 and held Champions Juventus to a 2-2 draw.

Parma were disappointing in their previous Serie A fixture as they suffered a 4-3 home defeat to bottom side Crotone. They were hampered by a string of defensive problems despite goals from Hernani, Gervinho and Valentin Mihaila.

Defensive problems have been the bane of Parma's campaign with only Crotone conceding more goals this season. They are almost certain to be relegated this season as they sit second bottom, 11 points from safety proved futile.

Roberto D’Aversa’s men travel to Turin off the back of four straight Serie A defeats. Their defensive problems have been more prominent in recent weeks with 14 goals conceded in that run.

How the bookies view it

Torino are favourites among the bookies with SBK offering 5/8 for a home win. Parma are priced at 5/1 by MansionBet for an unlikely victory while a draw is set at odds of 17/5 by SBK.

With Parma looking out of sorts in recent weeks a win for Torino looks to be on the cards.

Head to head

Parma have the advantage in this fixture with 15 wins from 27 previous matches. Torino have been victorious just five times while there have been seven draws between both teams.

Torino earned a 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in January.

Players to watch

Antonio Sanabria continues to impress for Torino with five goals in nine matches since joining in January. The forward is priced at 6/5 by Unibet to score anytime while BetVictor has top scorer Andrea Belotti at 11/10 in the same market as he looks to add to his 12 Serie A goals.

Wingers Gervinho and Valentin Mihaila were both on target for Parma last time out and could be worth keeping an eye on. Paddy Power has Gervinho at 3/1 to score anytime while also offering 4/1 on Mihaila in the same market.

Anything else catch the eye?

The goals have flowed freely for both teams lately and BetVictor is offering 18/5 for over 4.5 goals. Over 3.5 goals is priced at 7/5 by the same firm while Sport Nation is offering 4/7 for over 2.5 goals.

A Torino win and over 2.5 goals could be worth a punt at 23/20 with betway. The Turin club could be backed to score in both halves at 11/8 with William Hill while both teams are likely to score in the second half at 15/8 with Paddy Power.
