After being held by Bologna last time out, Serie A leaders AC Milan travel to out of sorts Torino aiming to maintain their slim lead at the top of the table.

Torino are coming off a 1-0 victory over bottom side Salernitana in their previous Serie A fixture. They were made to work hard by the hosts with Andrea Belotti's first half penalty proving to be the difference.

It was not a particularly convincing performance from Torino but manager Ivan Juric will be pleased to have claimed all three points. The result also ended a run of eight matches without a win and moved them to within five points of the top 10.

While the manager will be keen to build on that result, Torino’s recent performances at home have been worrying as they are winless in their last four matches. Among their results in that run are successive 2-1 defeats to relegation threatened Cagliari and Venezia.

AC Milan are coming off a frustrating outing after they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Bologna last time out. They lacked their usual cutting edge in attack and generally struggled to break down the stubborn visitors.

Despite the result, AC Milan remain top of Serie A but cannot afford any more slip-ups with Napoli and Inter Milan lurking. They are currently unbeaten in their last nine Serie A matches, claiming five wins in that run.

AC Milan have also maintained a solid record on the road, suffering just one defeat in their last 10 away matches. They have claimed seven wins in that run, including back-to-back 1-0 victories over Napoli and Cagliari in their last two Serie A fixtures away from home.

How the bookies view it

The bookies have AC Milan as favourites at 11/12 with SBK while a victory for Torino is valued at 16/5 by William Hill. A draw is set at odds of 5/2 by bet365.

Recent head to head

AC Milan are currently on a six-match unbeaten run against Torino, winning the last two meetings. They claimed a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture in October and also ran out 7-0 winners on their last visit to Torino.

Players to watch

AC Milan’s recent form is built on a sturdy defence which has not conceded a goal in their last two away matches. They have also kept clean sheets in their last two meetings with Torino and central defensive duo of Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori can lead them to a similar outcome at 6/4 with Paddy Power.

At the other end of the pitch, Zlatan Ibrahimovic made his return from injury last time out and could be tipped to score anytime at 7/5 with Coral. Fellow striker Olivier Giroud was on target in the reverse fixture and could also be considered in the same market at 15/8 with BetVictor.

Anything else catch the eye?

Given AC Milan’s defensive record and with Torino struggling for goals at the moment, BTTS NO could be on the cards at 20/21 with Sport Nation. The Rossoneri are expected to come out on top and could be tipped to earn a win to nil at 9/4 with BetVictor.

AC Milan have been the only team to score in the last two meetings with Torino and Sunday’s clash could be tipped to follow a similar pattern at 2/1 with William Hill.
