QPR and West Brom square off in a midweek Championship fixture with both teams looking to maintain their recent good form. Neither side has shown much defensive solidity in recent weeks and goals could be on the cards here.

QPR appear to be finding their rhythm at the right time, picking up their form as the season approaches the business end. They have won their last three matches and are now up to 19th on the table, although still dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Although there is still a long way to go before survival is confirmed, the quality of teams QPR have beaten in recent weeks will give them confidence. They claimed a 2-1 victory at Championship leaders Leicester City last Saturday with Ilias Chair and Sinclair Armstrong getting the goals.

QPR have also impressed at Loftus Road, where they are unbeaten in their last four matches. However, Marti Cifuentes’ men remain suspect at the back, with just one clean sheet in their last eight home matches across all competitions.

West Brom have also shown some good form in recent weeks, suffering just one defeat in their last seven matches. They remain in the mix for the promotion playoffs but will need to be wary of the likes of Hull City and Norwich City breathing down their neck.

The Baggies are coming off a 2-1 victory over Coventry City in their previous Championship fixture. They raced to a two goal lead before the break thanks to Michael Johnston and Grady Diangana and were able to hold on despite Coventry pulling one back in the second half.

West Brom have also been decent on their recent travels and are unbeaten in their last three away matches. However, they are usually unconvincing at the back and have kept just one clean sheet in their last six matches on the road.

How the bookies view it

West Brom have the edge among the bookies and are priced at 8/5 by Paddy Power to claim the win. A victory for QPR is valued at 2/1 by bet365 while Coral is offering odds of 21/10 for a draw.

Head to head

West Brom have a 21-15 advantage with 11 draws from 47 previous matches against QPR. The Baggies claimed a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in October.

Players to watch

Ilias Chair has caught the eye for QPR in recent weeks with two goals in his last three matches. The midfielder now has five Championship goals and could be worth keeping an eye on at 4/1 with bet365.

Michael Johnston has impressed since joining West Brom in January and heads into Wednesday’s clash with three goals in his last five matches. The forward is priced at 13/2 by bet365 to maintain his scoring run.

Anything else catch the eye?

With neither defence looking solid at the moment, both teams could be backed to score at evens with bet365. QPR have seen over 2.5 goals in their last two matches and a repeat is priced at 7/5 with Unibet while over 3.5 goals is set at odds of 7/2 with BoyleSports.

QPR have opened the scoring in two of their last three matches and are priced at 13/10 by bet365 to grab the first goal on Wednesday.
