Poland are already assured of a playoff spot in Group I of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and are still mathematically in with a shot at an automatic berth. The Poles need a bit of luck on the final day of qualifying but must first overcome a tricky Hungarian side.

Things are out of Poland's control in Group I as they sit three points behind leaders England and have an inferior goal difference. Their qualifications hope are pinned on a defeat for England along with a six-goal swing in their favour on Monday.

However, Poland must first get past the Hungarians. Paulo Sousa's men have won their last three matches in the qualifiers, including a 4-1 victory over Andorra on Friday with Robert Lewandowski netting a brace.

Poland also have a solid record at home where they have remained unbeaten throughout the qualifiers. They have claimed some one-sided wins, beating Albania 4-1 before earning a 5-0 victory over San Marino in their previous home fixture.

Hungary are coming off a 4-0 victory over bottom side San Marino. Dominik Szoboszlai netted a brace for the Hungarians while Daniel Gazdag and Balint Vecsei were also on target.

Marco Rossi’s men have no chance of making even the playoffs and are only playing for pride on Monday. They are six points behind Poland in second place having claimed just four wins from their nine qualifying matches.

Hungary have been hampered by a dodgy away form that has seen them fail to win any of their last two matches on the road.
