Norwich City face the difficult task of stopping in-form Burnley when they host the runaway leaders in a Championship fixture on Saturday.

Norwich are coming off a 4-2 victory over Coventry City last time out in the Championship. They raced to a three goal lead before the half-hour mark through Onel Hernandez, Josh Sargent and a Michael Rose own goal while Kieran Dowell added a fourth midway through the second half.

That was the second straight four-goal outing for Norwich City, who also claimed a 4-0 victory over Preston North End in their previous fixture. They are now just one point off the playoff places and that resurgence could be attributed to the arrival of manager David Wagner in January.

With the last two wins coming on the road, the task for the new boss will be to improve Norwich City’s fortunes at home. The Canaries are winless in their last five Championship matches, suffering three defeats in that run.

Burnley are not just poised for automatic promotion, they appear to be cruising towards the Championship title. They have won nine of their last 10 matches in the league and are currently five points clear at the top of the table.

The Clarets travel to Carrow Road off the back of a surprising 0-0 draw at League One side Ipswich Town in an FA Cup fourth round fixture. However, their previous Championship fixture was a 2-1 victory at West Brom and they will be confident of making a swift return to winning ways.

Burnley have also been solid travellers this season and have only been beaten twice on the road so far. Vincent Kompany’s men have won four of their last five Championship away matches with victories over the likes of Sunderland and QPR in that run.

How the bookies view it

The bookies appear to be split on this one with a win for Norwich City priced at 8/5 with bet365 while a Burnley victory is valued at 13/7 by SBK. A draw is set at odds of 27/11 by SBK.

Head to head

Burnley have a 13-11 advantage with five draws from 29 previous matches against Norwich City. The Clarets have claimed two wins and a draw from the last four meetings and picked up a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in October.

Players to watch

Norwich City have impressed going forward lately with their goals spread across the team. However, Teemu Pukki remains the one to watch and with four goals in his last seven Championship matches, the striker could be backed to find the net on Saturday at 21/10 by bet365.

Jay Rodriguez is the top scorer for Burnley with nine Championship goals but has been on a lengthy dry spell which he will be keen to end. The striker scored the winner in the reverse fixture and is priced at 13/5 by Betfred to find the net on Saturday.

Anything else catch the eye?

Norwich City and Burnley pride themselves on their open style of play and given the attacking quality on display, both teams could be backed to score at 4/5 with William Hill. The Canaries have seen over 3.5 goals in their last two fixtures and could be set for a repeat at 13/5 with BetVictor while over 2.5 goals is valued at 11/10 with Betfred.

Both teams often make fast starts and could be backed to score in the first half at 18/5 with Coral.
