JOSE MOURINHO will be out to complete a memorable double over his old clubs when he takes Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford looking to topple Manchester United.

The Special One savoured an EFL Cup victory over Chelsea on Tuesday, even having a pop at his former on-field lieutenant, Frank Lampard, on the touchline.

Now he returns to the Theatre of Dreams seeking to rally his troops for one last push before the international break during a demanding run of games.

This is the third match in just five days for Spurs after a 7-2 thrashing of Maccabi Haifa in the Europa League play-offs on Thursday night.

That should hand the advantage to Manchester United, with most of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's main men rested for the EFL Cup win at Brighton on Wednesday.

Since crashing at home to Crystal Palace in their Premier League opener, United have won three in a row so they head into this clash in decent shape.

But they left it late to beat the Seagulls in the first part of their double-header, with Bruno Fernandes netting in the 10th minute of added time to bring up both bets from our man Slips Tips.

Solskjaer has stamped his mark on the team since replacing Mourinho (below) and will now look to outwit the Portuguese in a tactical battle of wits.

How the bookies view it

Fatigue is a factor in the odds, with United odds-on favourites and a best 66/67 with VBet for a win. Spurs are 3/1 with most firms and the stalemate is 14/5 with Bet365.

Recent head to head

There hasn't been much between these sides of late, with the last 10 meetings producing five United wins, four Spurs victories and one draw. Last season, the Red Devils had the edge, winning 2-1 at Old Trafford (below) before a 1-1 draw in London.

Players to watch

Marcus Rashford scored twice in this fixture last season and has three goals in his last three games against Spurs. The England forward is 7/4 with 888Sport for anytime scorer and that looks decent value.

Son Heung-Min could make a surprise return from injury for Spurs and if the Korean starts he's worth a punt at 12/5 with Bet365 for a goal. But it's safer to go with Harry Kane who is 9/5 at Paddy Power.

Anything else catch the eye?

Mourinho might try to defend in numbers so I fancy under 2.5 goals at 21/10 with BetVictor. With so much focus on VAR and the handball rule, it's always worth backing a penalty occasionally and it's priced 33/20 at Unibet here.
