AFTER the soul-destroying experience of Scotland's opening Euro 2020 qualifiers, the SPFL Premiership makes a timely and welcome return with some Friday night football.

But some players in the Hibs ranks will be relishing their trip to the Tony Macaroni Arena as much as the national team players who cried off from the trek to Kazakhstan.

Livingston's plastic pitch proved every bit uncomfortable for the Hibees earlier this season as the Astana Arena's astroturf did for Alex McLeish's flops last week.

Livi claimed a deserved 2-1 win back in September and the Easter Road side aren't the only top team to have dropped points there this season, with Rangers crashing to a 1-0 loss, Celtic held to a 0-0 draw and Hearts humped 5-0.

Gary Holt's men are also unbeaten against the Hibees this term, with their other meeting ending in a 1-1 draw in the capital. So the 21/10 on offer for a home win with Coral looks rather generous, with Hibs a best 6/4 with Blacktype to continue their impressive run under new boss Paul Heckingbottom.

But Heckingbottom is bit more pragmatic than predecessor Neil Lennon, as witnessed in the 1-1 draw with Rangers when Hibs hammered long balls up field for most of the game.

A more direct approach could pay off against Livingston so I think the draw might be the best option here at 113/50 with Marathonbet.

Marc McNulty will be desperate to score for the Hibees after missing a sitter in Scotland's turgid 2-0 win over San Marino on Sunday. The striker even jokedĀ his own dad booed him for that miss but can turn the jeers to cheers here with a goal.

The on-loan Reading striker is 21/4 to break the deadlock with McBookie and 2/1 to find the net at any time with the same firm.

There were over 2.5 goals when these sides met at the Tony Macaroni earlier in the season so a repeat could pay off at 139/100 with Marathonbet. If you think Livi will win 2-1 again then BetVictor offer odds of 21/2.

The Lions are a huge threat from set-pieces and that makes their defenders a great option in the anytime scorer market. Craig Halkett is sadly a best 5/1 but the odds are much bigger on Declan Gallagher at a whopping 19-1 with Paddy Power which is surely worth a speculative punt.

This match between Livingston and Hibernian will be played on Mar 29, 2019 and kick off at 19:45. Check below for our tipsters best Livingston vs Hibernian prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
