WITH Manchester City in such rampant form, you suspect Liverpool are just one slip away from seeing their title dreams go up in smoke.

And the visit of Spurs to Anfield presents one of the most difficult hurdles to jump on the home straight for Jurgen Klopp's side.

If the Reds are the real deal and capable of delivering a first title since 1990 then this is the type of massive game they simply must win.

There has been a nervousness to Liverpool's league displays of late, most notably in the wins over struggling Burnley and Fulham.

A defence that has been so solid for most of the campaign is now conceding goals and the one they shipped to Ryan Babel at Craven Cottage almost proved fatal.

James Milner's late penalty got them out of jail that day and restored the Reds to the top of the table, with City on FA Cup duty.

But if there are similar slips against Tottenham then Klopp's side won't find it so easy to get themselves out of trouble. Spurs look overpriced at 5/1 with Bet 365 and plenty of punters will fancy a nibble, especially with Mauricio Pochettino's side desperate for a win as they chase a Champions League slot.

But I backed Liverpool to win with both teams to score against Fulham and it could pay off again in this clash at 5/2 with Betfair and 21/10 with Ladbrokes.

Spurs have injury problems, with Eric Dier and Harry Winks missing from midfield and full-back Serge Aurier also crocked, and that could hamper their chances of taking something from Anfield.

Liverpool's crock list is clearing, with Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back in full training, although this game will come to soon. Injuries ruled Xherdan Shaqiri and Trent Alexander-Arnold out of international duty but they are both expected to be fit to join the Reds squad for this game.

It was 2-1 to the Reds at Wembley in the reverse fixture and that could easily be the same score here. If you fancy a repeat then it's 15/2 with Bet 365. This should be tight and a one-goal winning margin for either side also appeals at 8/5 with Beway.

In the anytime scorer market, Spurs star Harry Kane looks overpriced at 39/20 with Unibet while Liverpool's Milner is good value at 5/1 given he takes their penalties. The odds on a spot-kick being awarded are also decent, with William Hill offering 3/1.
