Liverpool welcome Luton Town to Anfield for a midweek Premier League fixture as they look to strengthen their lead at the top of the standings. The Reds have injury problems at the moment but should still have enough to see off their visitors.

Liverpool are coming off a 4-1 victory at Brentford in their previous Premier League fixture. They were untroubled for much of the encounter with goals from Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo giving them the win.

The Reds appear to have hit their stride in recent weeks and despite a string of injuries, are unbeaten in their last 14 matches across all competitions. Jurgen Klopp’s men have picked up 10 wins in that run and remain two points clear at the top of the standings.

Anfield remains a fortress for Liverpool, who are yet to taste defeat in front of their fans across all competitions this season. They have picked up some truly one-sided wins in front of their fans, including a 4-1 victory over Chelsea and a 5-1 hammering of West Ham.

Luton Town travel to Liverpool off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United last time out in the Premier League. Carlton Morris pulled one back early in the first half after going two goals down before the 10th minute but they could not find an equaliser.

That result means Luton Town are now winless in their last three matches, suffering two defeats in that run. They remain in the relegation mix and need a swift upturn in fortunes to ease some of the pressure.

A positive ahead of the trip to Anfield is that Luton Town are unbeaten in their last five away matches across all competitions claiming three wins in that run. However, Rob Edwards’ men have only picked up one win from their last seven Premier League away fixtures.

How the bookies view it

The bookies have installed Liverpool as overwhelming favourites with a home win priced at 2/11 by 10bet. An unlikely victory for Luton Town is valued at 16/1 by bet365 while William Hill is offering odds of 7/1 for a draw.

Head to head

Liverpool have a 15-3 advantage with eight draws from 26 previous matches against Luton Town. However both teams played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in November.

Players to watch

Mohamed Salah marked his return to the team with a goal and an assist last weekend and will be the one to watch for Liverpool. The forward now has 15 Premier League goals and is priced at 8/13 by bet365 to score anytime on Wednesday.

Top scorer Elijah Adebayo is doubtful for Wednesday’s clash, so Carlton Morris will be the one to watch for Luton Town. The striker has found the net in the last three matches and is priced at 17/5 with Unibet to get on the score sheet.

Anything else catch the eye?

Liverpool have seen over 3.5 goals in their last five matches and a similar outcome is priced at 5/6 with Unibet. Having earned a few one-sided wins in that run, a -2 handicap could also be considered at 7/5 with Paddy Power.

The Reds have won both halves in four of their last five matches and a repeat is priced at 13/10 by Paddy Power. Mohamed Salah has opened the scoring in seven matches this season and is priced at 11/4 by bet365 to grab the first goal on Wednesday.
