HIGH-flying Hibs will be looking to make it four wins from four when they meet Motherwell at Easter Road on Saturday evening.

Hibs hit the ground running with a home win over Kilmarnock before securing back-to-back away successes against both Livingston and Dundee United respectively.

Jack Ross' appointment, coupled with some astute recruitment, has been a game-changing factor in Hibs' revival and the Leith side will be looking to continue their momentum when they meet Motherwell this weekend.

Stephen Robinson's side exceeded expectations last term, however, the Steelmen have made a stuttering start to the new season having picked up just one point from a possible nine thus far.

The Fir Park outfit fell to a defeat in their opening two tussles when being turned over by both Ross and County and newly-promoted Dundee United.

Indeed, Motherwell got off the mark in midweek, however, Well boss Stephen Robinson blasted his side after they twice blew the lead in their 2-2 draw with Livingston.

Outright Betting

Hibs have won their last four matches with Motherwell at Easter Road and home success on Saturday is trading at 21/20 with Betfred.

Motherwell have failed to win 10 of their last 11 Scottish Premiership fixtures and an away win this weekend is an unfancied 14/5 with Boylesports while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 13/5 with Betfred.

Betting Angles

Hibs' fine early-season form can be attributed to their top-heavy attack and I suspect confidence-stricken Motherwell could struggle to tame a Hibees frontline that is playing with fluency and without fear.

Jack Ross has deadly strike duo Christian Doidge and Kevin Nisbet at his disposal and with the likes of Daryl Horgan and Martin Boyle supplying the ammunition I fancy the capital club to continue their red-hot form in front of goal on Saturday evening.

Backing Hibs to claim all three at odds-against appeals, however, I'm going to opt for an alternative angle by siding the hosts score to two or more goals at 21/20 with Bet Victor- a punt that would have paid out in 10 of Hibs' 16 matches across all competitions in 2020.

It's also worth noting that Hibs have hit two or more goals in their last seven meetings when hosting Motherwell and that does not bode well for a Well side who have recorded just one clean sheet in their last 11 attempts.

What's more, 11 of the last 12 Scottish Premiership encounters at Easter Road have produced over 2.5 goals so that could see value lie with the Even-Money on offer with Bet 365 for a repeat on Saturday evening.

Six of the last seven meetings between these two sides in Edinburgh have generated three or more strikes and given that two of Hibs' opening three matches this season have featured over 2.5 goals I'm happy to side with a repeat this weekend at the above-mentioned price with Bet 365.

I'm also mindful that for all of Hibs' attacking talent, they are defensively vulnerable – 16 of the last 18 visiting sides to this venue have got on the scoresheet, with 10 of that sample scoring two or more goals – all of which adds to the appeal of siding with over 2.5 goals in this capital clash

Furthermore, this fixture will represent both sides fourth run-out in a fortnight and their midweek exertions could lead to some early-season fatigue which in turn could have goals flowing at Easter Road yet again.
