The Toffees head into Wednesday’s clash off the back of a 1-0 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Premier League fixture last weekend. They looked to have settled for a draw before a lapse at the back allowed Wolves grab a late equaliser.
While the results have been poor there have been a few flashes of quality from Everton, particularly in the opening fixture against Fulham and the second half last weekend. Manager Sean Dyche will be keen to channel some of those flashes And possibly use Wednesday’s clash to jump start their season.

With the exception of the 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa, Everton have shown flashes of defensive solidity, with their other losses stemming from momentary lapses of concentration.
