IT hasn't been a merry Christmas for Crystal Palace and they badly need a result against Leicester to head into the new year with a bit of optimism.

The Eagles followed up their 7-0 thrashing from Liverpool by crashing to a 3-0 defeat against an Aston Villa side who played the entire second half with 10 men.

Our man Slips Tips cashed in by backing Villa and these are worrying times for Palace fans, with their side going four games without a win.

Roy Hodgson's teams are usually based on a solid defence but it's now 14 games since Palace kept a clean sheet and even that was against Championship side Bournemouth in the EFL Cup.

So Leicester will fancy their chances of getting the win that will keep them flying high in the Premier League table.

The Foxes twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Manchester United on Boxing Day, a game where Slips Tips was one yellow card away from a a full house.

A defeat to Everton is Leicester's only loss in their last six matches and they will fancy their chances against a Palace side in freefall.

How the bookies view it

Leicester are evens with most firms but you can back them at 22/19 with SBK while Crystal Palace are as big as 14/5 with Unibet. The stalemate pays 28/11 with SBK.

Recent head to head

The Foxes won both meetings last season, battling to a 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park (below) then cruising to a 3-0 win at the King Power. But Palace held the edge before that, winning four on the spin and going five unbeaten.

Players to watch

Hodgson is sure to ring the changes after his side's dismal display at Villa. Jordan Ayew could get a recall up front and he's 3/1 with Paddy Power for anytime scorer.

Leicester playmaker James Maddison has five for the season and looks a little overpriced at 3/1 with Boylesports to add another. Skybet are also offering a decent 11/10 on Maddison and Jamie Vardy having one or more shots on target each.

Anything else catch the eye?

With Crystal Palace leaking goals, I like the look of the evens on offer at McBookie for over 1.5 Leicester goals.

Eagles talisman Wilf Zaha is cutting an increasingly frustrated figure and looks decent value for a card at 17/5 with BetVictor.
