CLUB BRUGGE came within a whisker of a famous win at the Bernabeu on their last Champions League outing and will now try to shock another giant in the shape of Paris St-Germain.

The Belgians were 10/1 outsiders for a win at Real Madrid but stunned the rest of Europe by racing into a 2-0 lead against Zinedine Zidane's side by half-time.

Had VAR not allowed Sergio Ramos' controversial goal early in the second half to stand then Brugge would probably have held on for a unlikely win.

But Real got a lift from pulling one back and Casemiro levelled with just five minutes to go, making it two draws from two games for Club Brugge in Group A.

When I previewed Brugge's opener with Galatasaray I claimed both teams were battling it out for third place, with Real Madrid and PSG set to breeze through to the last 16.

But Brugge's Bernabeu display has shown they can give the big boys a bloody nose and if they follow it up by taking something against PSG then this section could become very interesting.

The Belgians still haven't tasted defeat this season, with the weekend win at Mouscron making it 17 games unbeaten in all competitions. Suspended skipper Ruud Vormer will be a big loss but Colombian Eder Balanta returns from a hamstring injury.

When teams go on that sort of run then confidence courses through the veins so Club Brugge won't be daunted by the visit of PSG, even though boss Philippe Clement claims it would be a “miracle” if they claimed a point.

Thomas Tuchel's side began their campaign by battering Real Madrid 3-0 in Paris then followed that up with a 1-0 win in a tricky clash with Galatasaray in Turkey.

After a few wobbles early in the Ligue 1 campaign, with the fans turning on star man Neymar after he failed to force through a summer move, Paris St-Germain have won four games on the spin, keeping clean sheets in three of those matches.

That run has come despite missing star players through injury, with Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Edison Cavani all sidelined at various stages.

The Brazilian was crocked in Brazil's friendly with Nigeria while Cavani has been out since late August but Mbappe made a scoring comeback off the bench in Friday's impressive 4-1 win over Nice.

Mbappe and Cavani both travelled to Belgium as part of the squad but boss Tuchel has admitted neither will be able to play the full 90 minutes.

If they fail to make the starting line-up it will give Brugge hope, even though the likes of Mauro Icardi and Angel Di Maria have stepped up to the plate in their absence.

With home advantage and PSG without their top men, I like the look of Club Brugge in the double chance market, which also pays out on a draw, at 79/50 with Marathonbet.

That might come a cropper if the electric Mbappe is fit to start and PSG's big guns are all on top of their game but I'm hoping a few of them struggle and Brugge play at their peak.

Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis scored probably the most comical double in Champions League history at the Bernabeu as he stumbled before netting both his goals but the young Nigerian still showed how dangerous he is. The 21-year-old livewire is 4/1 with Paddy Power to find the net again here and that looks pretty decent value.

Argentinian striker Icardi is PSG's best bet for a goal, having grabbed the winner on their last European road trip. The former Inter Milan star also netted on Friday against Nice and is 13/10 with Ladbrokes for anytime scorer in Belgium.

I can see both teams scoring here so try that combined with over 2.5 match goals and either team to win, which is 5/4 with Ladbrokes.

This match between Club Brugge and PSG will be played on Oct 22, 2019 and kick off at 20:00. Check below for our tipsters best Club Brugge vs PSG prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
