Burnley continue their quest to climb out of the relegation zone as they travel to Chelsea for a Premier League fixture on Saturday. The Clarets have shown some fight lately but Chelsea appear to be constantly improving and should be too strong for their visitors.

Sitting 11th on the standings, the task for Chelsea for the rest of the season will be to secure a place in the top half. They appear to have turned a corner in recent weeks, claiming three wins and a draw from their last four matches across all competitions.

Chelsea went into the international break off the back of a 4-2 victory over Leicester City in an FA Cup quarterfinal clash. They also claimed a 3-2 victory over Newcastle United in their previous Premier League fixture.

As the last two results have shown, Chelsea often struggle to tighten up defensively and are without a clean sheet in their last 19 matches across all competitions. However, Mauricio Pochettino’s men still do enough to get the result having won five of their last six Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge.

Burnley were victorious in their last fixture prior to the international break as they triumphed 2-1 over Brentford. They raced to a two-goal lead courtesy of Jacob Bruun Larsen and Datro Fofana and were able to hold on for the win despite conceding late on.

That was the first win in 11 matches for Burnley, who are in desperate need of a run of wins to beat the drop. Vincent Kompany’s men remain second from bottom on the standings, five points from safety.

Burnley are generally poor on their travels having picked up just one win from their last 11 Premier League away matches. However, they did play out a 2-2 draw with West Ham in their previous fixture on the road and will be looking to build on that, having led for much of the encounter.

How the bookies view it

Players to watch

There were over 4.5 goals in the reverse fixture and a similar outcome is priced 3/1 by Paddy Power. Over 3.5 goals is priced at 5/4 by Unibet while 888Sport is offering odds of 5/6 on both teams to score.
