CELTIC returned from Denmark with an away-goal advantage and the Scottish champions will be confident of putting Copenhagen to the sword at Parkhead on Thursday night.

Neil Lennon said he was “disappointed” to see his side only score once in the Danish capital on an evening where Copenhagen were there for the taking.

Celtic are playing with fluency and without fear and Lennon's slightly more pragmatic approach in European competition is helping restore pride in Celtic's performances on the continent.

Closer to home, the Hoops are homing in on a ninth consecutive Scottish Premiership title after opening up a towering 12 point lead over fierce rivals Rangers.

Meanwhile, Stale Solbakken's side have all but surrendered their Danish Superliga crown after they were held to a 1-1 draw away at relegation-threatened Silkeborg on Sunday.

Yet, despite Copenhagen's domestic woes, it took a stunning penalty-kick save from Fraser Forster to deny the Danes from arriving in Glasgow's east-end defending a one goal lead.

The Betting Odds

Celtic have been flawless on home soil in this season's Europa League and the Bhoys are big favourites at a best 4/9 with Bet 365.

A repeat of last week's draw is priced at 3/1 with Ladbrokes while a Copenhagen victory at Celtic Park is deemed unlikely at 15/2 with UniBet

The Betting Angles

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has been unplayable since returning from the winter shutdown and I like the look of the 11/8 (Betfred) on offer for the in-form Frenchman to find the back of the net on Thursday night.

The Hoops hitman opened the scoring in Denmark with a delightful dink and Celtic's man of the moment took his Scottish Premiership tally to 21 goals in 25 appearances during Sunday's 3-1 success over Kilmarnock.

What's more, Edouard tends to flourish in big fixtures the above-mentioned price looks too tempting to pass up on given the Celtic forwards red-hot form.

Whether or not Edouard gets on the scoresheet remains to be seen, however, given the fluency that free-scoring Celtic are playing with, I do fancy Lennon's side to score two or more goals in Glasgow.

The Bhoys have made the bet bulge in each of their last 10 domestic fixtures and the hosts have hit the back of the net at least twice in all of their European assignments on home turf this term.

Two or more Celtic strikes looks slightly short at 7/10 with William Hill, however, those odds can be boosted up to 17/20 by adding four or more Celtic corners – a combination that clicked in Celtic's three group-stage games at Parkhead.

In conjunction with that, I'm also going to combine Celtic to win and over 1.5 match goals at 20/23 with Coral– a bet that would have banked profit in 10 of the Bhoys last 11 matches.

Indeed, Copenhagen have proven to be a tough nut to crack in this season's competition, however, roared on by a raucous home crowd, Celtic can join Old Firm rivals Rangers in Friday's Europa League last-16 draw.
