MOST pundits and fans think it's now an easy sprint to the line for Manchester City after they cleared the hurdle of a derby at Old Trafford in midweek.

That impressive 2-0 victory made it 11 successive wins in the league and if Pep Guardiola's men add three more then the championship crown will be theirs again.

But there's a danger complacency might set in after the massive win over Manchester United and, if anything, the trip to Turf Moor presents a more difficult challenge than the derby.

Burnley's recent form has been hugely impressive, sitting fifth in the Premier League form table for the last six games, with Manchester United languishing down in 17th.

In their last outing they claimed a creditable 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and Sean Dyche's team have a style that City won't like defending against.

United were incredibly direct at Old Trafford, hitting a series of long balls in a bid to get their speedy attackers one-on-one with Vincent Kompany and Aymeric Laporte. The tactic worked quite well in the first half and Burnley can also get a bit of joy going direct, with target man Chris Wood looking to bring Ashley Barnes and Dwight McNeill into the game.

City dished out a 5-0 beating in the reverse fixture but that came when Burnley were in poor form and lacking in confidence. It's a different story now, with the Clarets on a four-game unbeaten run, and I can see this match being far closer than the bookies expect, with Burnley 25/1 rank outsiders with some firms.

Burnley made title-chasing Liverpool sweat for a 4-2 win last month and don't be surprised if there's a few twists here as well. A City win with both teams to score is 2/1 with Ladbrokes and that looks a good shout while Guardiola's side to triumph after a level first half also appeals at 7/2 with Bet Victor.

Guardiola is sweating on the fitness of Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan after they both picked up injuries at Old Trafford. That should open the door for Leroy Sane to start after coming off the bench to net the clincher against United. The German is 13/10 with Ladbrokes for anytime scorer but looks better value to provide an assist at 9/5 with 888 Sport.

The same firm offer a tempting 6/1 on Raheem Sterling scoring and providing an assist which could be worth a tentative bet as well.

For a Burnley scorer, I like the look of winger McNeill whose pace and power could cause City a few problems. The youngster is overpriced at 10/1 with Bet365 and is well worth a few quid.
