Burnley continue their quest for survival as they welcome Brighton to Turf Moor for a Premier League fixture on Saturday. The Clarets have been plagued by too many draws lately and with Brighton also looking far from their best in recent weeks, a stalemate could be on the cards.

Burnley head into Saturday’s clash off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Everton in their previous Premier League fixture. They edged the possession but lacked the cutting edge in attack, mustering just a single attempt on target throughout the encounter.

The result leaves Burnley still in the relegation zone as they have now picked up just one win from their last 15 Premier League matches. Vincent Kompany’s men have shown some fight lately but seem unable to see out wins having been held to three draws in their last five matches.

Things are also not particularly smooth for Burnley at Turf Moor with just one win from their last six home matches. They have been held three times in that run, including a 1-1 scoreline with Wolverhampton Wanderers in their previous home fixture.

Brighton are also coming off a defeat as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Arsenal last time out in the Premier League. They struggled to create much going forward and were constantly carved open at the back.

It has been a rough period for Brighton, who have picked up just one win from their last six Premier League matches. They have been on a steady decline down the table and could find themselves in the bottom half if results do not go their way this weekend.

Brighton have also found things difficult on their travels with just one win from their last 10 Premier League away matches. Roberto De Zerbi’s men were held to a 0-0 draw at Brentford in their previous fixture on the road.

How the bookies view it

Brighton have the upper hand among the bookies and are priced at 19/20 by Paddy Power to claim the win. A victory for Burnley is valued at 13/5 by bet365 while William Hill is offering offs of 29/10 for a draw.

Head to head

Burnley have an 8-7 advantage with 14 draws from 29 previous matches against Brighton. Both teams played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in December.

Players to watch

Datro Fofana is in the middle of a mini goal drought but still remains the biggest attacking threat for Burnley. The forward has three goals in the last five home matches and is priced at 3/1 with Unibet to find the net on Saturday.

Joao Pedro is still working his way to full fitness after an injured spell and having come off the bench last time out, could be handed a start on Saturday. The forward remains the leading scorer for Brighton with eight Premier League goals and is priced at 19/10 by Unibet to find the net.

Anything else catch the eye?

Brighton have seen over 2.5 goals in three of their last four away matches and a repeat is priced at 8/13 with bet365, who is also offering odds of 6/4 for over 3.5 goals. A cagey opening period is expected, so both teams can be backed to score in the second half at 7/4 with bet365.

The second half is also expected to produce more goals at 21/20 with Betfred.
