BRISTOL CITY earned a deserved draw at West Ham United in the third round of the FA Cup and will want to finish the Hammers off at Ashton Gate.

The Hammers had the weekend off and will be well aware of the dangers they face at the Championship side, who will fancy themselves after matching Davie Moyes' side for long periods at the London Stadium.

Bristol City went down to a 2-0 defeat at Preston North End and currently sit in a lowly 14th place, although they are only four points off the play-offs in the typically congested second tier of English football.

Liam Manning's side were going along very nicely last month after three wins and a draw, but they have lost their last two league games in the league.

West Ham have improved after a sluggish start to the season and have lost just one league game since the start of November, although that was a shocker when they crashed to a 5-0 defeat at Fulham.

Three league wins in a row over in-form Wolves, at Manchester United and most impressively at all at Arsenal without conceding a goal showed what the Hammers can do.

How the bookies view it

West Ham are odds-on favourites although not prohibitively so at 10/11 with Coral.

Bristol City can be backed at 3/1 with Paddy Power and the draw is 11/4 with UniBet.

Recent head to heads

As stated, Bristol City deserved their 1-1 draw in East London the other week.

West Ham won on their last visit to Ashton Gate in the FA Cup nine years ago and are unbeaten in the last 12 meetings between the clubs stretching back to 1978.

Players to watch

Scotland Under 21s striker Tommy Conway is a highly-rated target man and scored the goal for the visitors in London – his seventh of the season. He is 7/2 to score anytime with Paddy Power.

Danny Ings will be expected to step up with West Ham suffering injury problems and the striker could do with a break – he's yet to score this season, but is 21/10 favourite with bet365 to score anytime.

Anything else catch the eye?

Bristol City can take advantage of West Ham's injury and selection problems. Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio are out injured and Mohammed Kudus is away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

They deserved their draw in the capital and are with backing on the double chance to get the draw on your side too at 10/11 with Boylesports.

There might not be a goal glut here – Bristol City have only scored 30 league goals in 27 games and West Ham's last five league games haven't seen both sides scoring.
