LIVERPOOL's eight-game unbeaten run came to a shuddering halt on Wednesday night and the Reds will be looking to rebound when they lock horns with Brighton on Saturday lunchtime.

The Merseysiders were beaten 2-0 by Atalanta at Anfield in midweek, however, last time out in the Premier League Liverpool demonstrated against Leicester that their desire to defend their title still burns.

Indeed, Jurgen Klopp's champs haven't looked their fluid best this season, but a south coast success would see Liverpool climb back to the summit of the table, at least temporarily.

Standing in Liverpool's way on Saturday is a Brighton side who bagged a morale-boosting 2-1 win away at Aston Villa last weekend.

Graham Potter's possession-based style of play has earned the Seagulls plenty of plaudits but they have little to show for it after amassing just nine points from a possible 27 thus far.

Having said that, Brighton will be buoyed by their Villa Park victory, but they face a huge task trying to tame star-studded Liverpool at the Amex on Saturday.

Outright Betting

Brighton are winless in eight Premier League home matches and the hosts are huge underdogs on Saturday at 9/2 with William Hill, while a point apiece is also deemed improbable at 3/1 with the same firm.

Liverpool have won on all four of their visits to this venue and another Reds road success here is odds-on at 4/7 with Bet 365.

Betting Angles

I discussed this fixture on this week's edition of the Gambla Bet Builder Podcast where I recommended a Bet Builder with the view to getting the visitors onside.

A Liverpool victory looks slightly short here at quotes of 4/7 so I will head to the Bet 365 Bet Builder market to get a bigger price.

If we combine Liverpool to score over one goal with over zero Brighton cards we can boost the price up to 10/11 (Bet 365), and that betting angle makes appeal.

Klopp's star-studded side have scored two or more goals in eight of their nine top-flight tussles this term and that does not bode well for Brighton backline who have kept just two clean sheets in nine attempts thus far.

The Seagulls shaky backline have already shipped two or more strikes against Chelsea, Everton, Manchester United and Tottenham, and it's worth noting that the above-mentioned Bet Builder banked in each of those four fixtures.

What's more, Potter's men have racked up three red cards this season -the highest tally in the division to date – and the hosts are averaging 1.67 yellows per game in the Premier League this season.

With that in mind, coupled with the fact that card-happy Stuart Attwell has the whistle on Saturday, I'll also dip into the team cards market and take the 5/6 on offer with Bet 365 for Brighton to collect over one card during this contest.

Brighton have picked up 20+ booking points in five of their last eight Premier League matches and the above-mentioned card play looks overpriced here given that the reigning champions will represent an upgrade on those previous challenges.

This match between Brighton and Liverpool will be played on Nov 28, 2020 and kick off at 12:30. Check below for our tipsters best Brighton vs Liverpool prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
