BELGIUM will be bidding to make it back-to-back wins in Nations League Group A4 when they welcome Wales to the King Baudouin Stadium on Thursday night.

Roberto Martinez's star-studded side went down 4-1 to the Netherlands in their section opener, but they bounced back in style by dishing out a 6-1 pasting to Poland on Matchday Two.

The Red Devils have since picked up another win over the Poles either side of a 1-1 with Wales, on a night where my main bet copped in Cardiff.

With Belgium currently sitting in second place in the pool and three points behind the Dutch, they can ill-afford another setback against Rob Pages' side this midweek.

After securing a place at their first World Cup in 64 years with victory over Ukraine, the Dragons have since lost twice to the Netherlands either side of their aforementioned stalemate with Belgium.

That sequence coupled with an opening night draw in Poland means Wales are propping up the section after four rounds of fixtures and things don't get any easier as they now visit Belgium.

Outright Betting

Despite emerging victorious from just one of their last seven meetings with Wales, Belgium head into this game as red-hot 2/5 favourites with Bet 365.

As already mentioned, Wales earned a 1-1 draw with Belgium back in June, but the same outcome here is an unfancied 4/1 (UniBet) while an away win can be backed at best 8/1 (SBK).

Betting Angles

I successfully backed both teams to score in June's reverse fixture and I'm more than happy to revisit the same selection at 11/10 (SBK) when the pair reconvene in Brussels.

Roberto Martinez's side carry plenty of firepower and that's reflected by the fact that they have scored a minimum of one goal in each of their last 54 matches.

What's more, the Red Devils have remarkably managed hit the back of the net at least once in all of their competitive contests on home turf dating all the way back to 2014.

A such, I fully expect Belgium to make the bulge on Thursday night when faced with a Wales team that are without a clean sheet in eight of their last nine meaningful matches.

While Belgium boss Martinez has an awesome array of attacking talent at his disposal, shutting out their opponents is not something the Red Devils' rearguard is renowned for.

The hosts have failed to keep their sheets clean in each of their last eight competitive games – two of which were against Wales.

Not only have the Dragons scored in each of their last two meetings with Belgium, they have grabbed at least one goal in each of their last 11 international assignments.

With all this in mind, coupled with the fact that BTTS has banked in each of the last three meetings between these two nations over the last 18 months, backing each to oblige again stands out a 11/10 (SBK.)

This match between Belgium and Wales will be played on Sep 22, 2022 and kick off at 19:45. Check below for our tipsters best Belgium vs Wales prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
