After stumbling against Sheffield United last time out, Bournemouth face another relegation threatened side as Luton Town travel to The Vitality Stadium. The Cherries will be desperate for a reaction on Wednesday, particularly at home and should have the edge in this one.

Bournemouth were held to a 2-2 draw by Sheffield United in their previous Premier League fixture. They trailed by two goals for long periods before late efforts from Dango Ouattara and Enes Unal earned them a point.

Manager Andoni Iraola will feel Bournemouth should have won as Dominic Solanke slipped as he was about to take a penalty and also had a late effort ruled out by VAR. As it stands, Bournemouth have now picked up just one win in their last nine Premier League matches.

Bournemouth will be desperate for an upturn in fortunes and will look to kick off the resurgence at home. They have been unconvincing in front of their fans lately, but will be keen to channel the performances in the 3-0 victory over Fulham and the 2-0 triumph over Newcastle United.

Luton Town are also coming off a draw as they left it late before securing a 1-1 scoreline at Crystal Palace last time out in the Premier League. They fell behind early in the contest and kept battling until Cauley Woodrow struck the equaliser in the sixth minute of added time.

While manager Rob Edwards will be pleased with the battling performance, the result means Luton Town are still winless in their last seven matches. They have been beaten five times in that run and remain mired in the relegation zone, three points from safety.

Luton Town appear to fare much better on their travels and are unbeaten in six of their last seven away matches across all competitions. However, they have drawn three of their last four Premier League matches on the road.

How the bookies view it

Despite their recent poor run, Bournemouth are still considered overwhelming favourites among the bookies at 11/20 with bet365. A victory for Luton Town is valued at 9/2 by BetVictor while a draw is set at odds of 7/2 by Betfred.

Head to head

Bournemouth have an 11-6 advantage with six draws from 23 previous matches against Luton Town. The Cherries claimed a 2-1 victory the last time they hosted Luton in a Championship clash back in 2021.

Players to watch

Dominic Solanke will have a few things to make up for after missing a penalty and seeing a goal chalked off by VAR last time out against Sheffield United. The striker is Bournemouth’s leading scorer with 14 goals and is priced at evens by bet365 to get on the score sheet.

Carlton Morris remains the biggest attacking threat for Luton Town and will be looking to add to his eight goals this season. The striker has found the net five times in his last eight matches and is priced at 9/4 by Unibet to maintain his scoring run.

Anything else catch the eye?

There have been over 4.5 goals in three of Luton Town’s last four matches and a repeat is priced at 3/1 with Paddy Power. Bournemouth’s previous fixture produced over 3.5 goals, which is priced at 5/4 with Unibet.

With Bournemouth priced at minimal odds for a straight victory, a win and both teams to score could be considered at 9/5 with William Hill.
