The big clash in Serie A this weekend sees AC Milan host resurgent Juventus at the San Siro. The visitors appear to have overcome some of their early season problems and are unlikely to come away from an erratic Milan empty-handed.

AC Milan are coming off a surprise 2-1 home defeat to struggling Spezia in their previous Serie A fixture. They took the lead just before the break through Rafael Leao but conceded twice in the second half, including an injury time winner.

That result highlights AC Milan’s erratic performances lately as they have claimed only three wins from their last six Serie A matches. They remain in the title mix, however, and sit just two points behind leaders Inter Milan.

AC Milan’s troubles have been surprisingly more evident at home as they have won just twice in their last six matches at the San Siro. Stefano Pioli’s men have also struggled at the back, keeping just one clean sheet in that run.

Juventus appear to have moved on from their early season problems and are now putting up a proper top four challenge. They are fifth on the table, just one point behind Atalanta, who occupy the final UEFA Champions League spot.

The Turin club travel to Milan unbeaten in their last eight Serie A matches, claiming six wins in that run. Massimiliano Allegri’s men claimed a 2-1 victory over Udinese in their previous league fixture and followed that up with a 4-1 Coppa Italia triumph over Sampdoria on Tuesday.

Juventus have also impressed on their recent travels and are unbeaten in their last five away matches. However, like AC Milan, they are often unconvincing at the back and have conceded four goals in their last three matches on the road.

Head to head

Juventus have a 34-18 advantage with 17 draws from 69 previous matches against AC Milan. Both teams played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in September.

Players to watch

Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains the top scorer for AC Milan with eight Serie A goals and will be the one to watch. Sporting Index has the Swedish striker at odds of 37/25 to find the net on Sunday.

Paulo Dybala appears to have rediscovered his scoring touch in recent weeks and has scored in his last two Serie A matches. The Argentine striker is priced at 43/20 by Sporting Index to get on the score sheet in Milan.

Anything else catch the eye?
