BRIGHTON look guaranteed another season of Premier League football thanks to their fine form post-lockdown.

The Seagulls have soared to the brink of safety having taken seven points from 12 to open a nine-point lead over the bottom three with just five fixtures to play.

The first of those comes against a Liverpool side who have eased off the gas since securing their first league title in 30 years.

Jurgen Klopp's side can still set records for the biggest winning margin, most wins and most points in a season but there's no doubt their intensity has dipped amid the title celebrations.

Brighton will look to capitalise on Reds' suspect recent away record, which has seen them fail to score in their last five in all competitions while suffering four defeats.

How do the bookies view it?

In what is effectively a dead rubber, Liverpool are 4-7 at Unibet to end their three-game winless run away from Anfield.

Brighton are 11-2 at BetVictor for a first victory over the Reds since 1984, while the draw is 10-3 at Sportingbet.

Betting angles

Despite maintaining their 100% home record at the weekend, it was a laboured 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Aston Villa for Klopp's men and they were nowhere near their best.

The German could well make a few changes for this one and cohesion may suffer as a result. Brighton, having lost the last eight meetings, will be happy to keep things tight and the half-time draw tempts at 11-8 with Betfred.

And while Brighton have banished their relegation fears post-lockdown, they have won just one of their last half dozen matches at home in the league, most recently being comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Man United a week ago, although they followed that up with a critical 1-0 success at Norwich.

This one has the makings of a tight affair in which Liverpool's superior quality should edge it. I like the look of the Reds to win by a one-goal margin at 28-11 with SportNation.
