The Serie A title will likely be decided as early as Sunday, but before that, we have three very interesting matches to look forward to on Saturday.

Udinese and Torino will face off in the early afternoon match, ahead of the key clash between Como and Napoli. The day will conclude with an intriguing match between Atalanta and Genoa, though neither team has much left to play for. 

Below, you’ll find our expert tips and predictions for Saturday’s three Serie A matches.

Today’s Serie A betting tips & predictions

Udinese vs. Torino (2pm)

Udinese and Torino are practically neck and neck in the middle of the table, with neither team having anything to play for other than finishing as high as possible. 

Interestingly, both teams have been in good form in recent weeks, achieving solid results against teams from the leading group. 

Given the lack of pressure, we believe we can expect goals from both teams. They have nothing to lose, so they can play their best football without any tension.

Como vs. Napoli (5pm)

Como secured a crucial victory over Genoa, but they will need at least two more wins to guarantee a spot in European competition—and why not the Champions League? 

Napoli are still in the title race, though their chances are virtually nonexistent. If they fail to beat Como, the race will be over. 

Como are still one of the strongest home teams in the league, with their recent poor form showing up mainly in their away matches. Napoli have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight away games, so we’re going for goals.

Atalanta vs. Genoa (7:45pm)

Atalanta’s chances of finishing in the top six are still mathematically alive, but practically speaking, they’re highly unlikely. Genoa, on the other hand, are just one draw away from securing their survival.

La Dea are certainly not in good form, but their record against Genoa over the past decade has been nearly flawless. The visitors’ last head-to-head victory was in 2018, and their last away win at this stadium was in 2013. 

Genoa haven’t even scored a goal in four of their last five away games at this stadium. On paper, Atalanta should be able to replicate their recent H2H results and win again.

Most of the key Ligue 1 matchups will take place early in the round, and the title could be decided as early as Saturday night. 

Outside the title race, we have two intriguing matchups featuring Marseille and Monaco, who are neck and neck in the battle for a European spot. But the focus will likely be more on the matches involving PSG and Lens, which could settle the big question.

Today’s Ligue 1 betting tips & predictions

Nantes vs. Marseille (2pm)

It is now impossible for Nantes to escape the relegation zone, but it is not too late for them to qualify at least for the relegation playoff, where they will fight for a spot in the top flight. 

Marseille continue to struggle, having failed to beat Nice in the previous round. They are still in the top six, but one more poor result could knock them out of that position. 

Interestingly, Nantes beat them in the reverse fixture, and right now, Marseille have four losses in their last five away games. We would take a chance on BTTS because this match is crucial for both teams, but we wouldn’t bet on a winner.

PSG vs. Lorient (4pm)

After securing one of the greatest victories in Champions League history, PSG now face the task of clinching the Ligue 1 title against Lorient, who have nothing left to play for. 

Of course, PSG’s focus will be split between this match and the rematch against Bayern Munich in a few days, so we don’t expect them to field their strongest lineup here. This makes the match a bit more complicated, because it’s actually possible to see a narrow win with minimal effort, but we’re more likely to see goals. 

Most matches between PSG and Lorient have been goal-packed, and if the Parisians field their reserves, the visitors will have more chances here.

Metz vs. Monaco (6pm)

Even a draw would mean automatic relegation for Metz, whose only chance of survival is to win all three of their remaining matches and hope for slip-ups from the other two teams at the bottom. 

Monaco, meanwhile, haven’t won in three straight matches, so the three points are just as crucial for them. The common thread in both teams’ recent matches has been goals, and we expect exactly that here. 

Interestingly, Monaco won both of their last two matches against Metz by the same score of 5-2. We’re unlikely to see seven goals again, but we expect at least three.

Nice vs. Lens (8:05pm)

Nice and Lens face off in a crucial Ligue 1 match just weeks before they meet again in the Coupe de France final. 

Nice desperately need three points to secure their place in the league, while for Lens, a loss would mean the end of their title hopes. The Blood and Gold made a serious mistake in their draw with Brest, and we expect them to go all out for the win here. 

The hosts aren’t that easy to beat, but their lack of firepower leads us to believe that Lens can secure a narrow victory on the road.

There are only five rounds left in La Liga, and there are still so many questions, but we could get some answers as early as this weekend. 

We kick off Saturday with the match between Villarreal and Levante, which we think could turn out to be one of the most exciting games of the round. After that, we’ll see several key clashes in the battle for European spots, as well as matches featuring Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

Today’s La Liga betting tips & predictions

Villarreal vs. Levante (1pm)

Just one point will be enough for Villarreal to secure their place in the Champions League, and they’re in great form right now. The same can be said for Levante, who, however, are at the other end of the table and currently look as though they might pull off a historic last-minute survival. 

The Frogs are having a fantastic end to the season, having earned nearly half their points in the last eight rounds (W4, D3, L1). In their last three matches, they haven’t even conceded a single goal, which is downright shocking. 

There is, however, another factor: their performance on the road. Unfortunately, they have little to boast about there, as they haven’t won on the road since early January. Villarreal, on the other hand, have five consecutive home wins, and most of which came against teams far stronger than Levante.

Valencia vs. Atletico Madrid (3:15pm)

Atletico Madrid have gone two games without a loss, which is quite an achievement given their recent form. However, they face an extremely tough rematch against Arsenal in London in a few days, and it’s unlikely they’ll be particularly focused on their match against Valencia. 

The hosts are equidistant from European qualification and the relegation zone, and with five rounds remaining, a late push for a top-six finish is not out of the question. There is one fact, however, and that is that they have just one win against Atletico Madrid in their last 22 head-to-head matches. 

However, they won’t get a better chance to change that statistic than in this match, given Atletico’s current position. We wouldn’t bet on a win, but we expect to see goals at both ends and over 2.5 goals, given that the visitors are far stronger but will be distracted.

Alaves vs. Athletic Bilbao (5:30pm)

It’s not too late for both teams to achieve their goals, but there are many factors we need to consider before making a pick for this match. 

Alaves are still far from safe and need the three points to stay above the relegation zone. Athletic Bilbao are three points away from a European spot, but their away form includes four consecutive losses. 

Alaves have certainly been impressive in their home matches lately, and it’s quite possible they could snatch at least a point, if not a win outright. Their underdog status in the odds allows us to place a safer bet, namely a double chance.

Osasuna vs. Barcelona (8pm)

Osasuna secured a heart-stopping victory over Sevilla with a goal in the 99th minute, keeping their European hopes alive as they sit just two points behind the top six. 

Barcelona, meanwhile, are just two wins away from clinching the title and have nothing else to worry about. But Osasuna haven’t lost a single game in their last 10 home matches, even beating Real Madrid two months ago. 

We expect them to score at least one goal against Barcelona, and they have scored at least once in every single home match this season.

There is also clear motivation for the hosts. Leeds are six points ahead of Spurs, but with tricky fixtures still to come against both Spurs and West Ham, they probably need three more points to feel very confident of avoiding being dragged into the relegation battle. That should sharpen the focus at Elland Road.

Starting with the result angle, Leeds have lost only four of 17 home league games, winning 11 and drawing two. Their home xPTS rank is third in the division, showing performances have supported the results. They have also won the xG battle in 13 of those 17 home matches, another sign they regularly control games on their own ground.

Leeds to score also has strong support. They have failed to score in only five of 17 home fixtures, while Burnley own the weakest away process numbers in the league. Burnley average only 0.76 xG away and 1.84 xGA, with zero away clean sheets all season.

Recent form strengthens that case further. Burnley have won only one of their last 25 matches, losing 17, conceding 2.04 goals per game and scoring only 0.88. They have also just sacked Scott Parker, adding more uncertainty before a difficult trip.

The corner leg looks strong. Leeds have won three or more corners in all 17 home league games, averaging 5.53. Burnley concede 6.18 corners per away game and have allowed three or more in 16 of 17 away fixtures.

Avoid defeat, score once and reach three corners all line up well here.

Newcastle Utd vs Brighton

Brighton look the stronger side heading to St James Park. Newcastle have lost their last five in all competitions and are W6-D2-L12 across their last 20, conceding 2.1 goals per game. In the Premier League, they have won only three of their last 13.

The recent data is just as concerning. Across the last four games, Newcastle have generated only 1.64 xPTS and allowed 2.67 xGA. Over the last eight, their xPTS sits at 5.57, with 2.16 xGA and 15 big chances conceded.

Brighton arrive W6-D1-L1 across their last eight, conceding only five goals. They have 13.18 xPTS over that spell and 7.73 across the last four. Their last four away games brought 12 actual points, three clean sheets and only 0.79 xGA overall.

Newcastle’s set-piece threat is strong, but Brighton’s open-play control and defensive form make them the better side.

• Score 1-2 at 17/2 with Skybet

Wolves vs Sunderland

Wolves continue to profile as one of the weakest sides in the league. Their home numbers remain poor, with only 19.17 home xPTS and just five home xG battle wins from 17, a 29.4% rate. They also average only 1.00 xG at home and concede 1.58 xGA.

Recent numbers do little to improve the case. Across the last four games, Wolves have posted only 0.65 xG, 2.36 xGA and 0.93 xPTS. They have failed to score three times in that run and conceded nine big chances.

Sunderland are not flawless, but they look the stronger side here. Across the last four games they have produced 1.81 xG and 5.86 xPTS, while creating six big chances. Their away profile is still weak overall, but Wolves are giving opponents too many openings.

The match looks open rather than polished, with Sunderland’s current attacking output enough to edge it.

• Score 1-2 at 15/2 with Skybet

Brentford vs West Ham

Brentford look capable of turning strong underlying numbers into a home win. They rank fourth for home xPTS with 31.38 and have won the xG battle in 12 of 17 home matches. At the Gtech, they average 1.72 xG and 1.33 xGA, while producing 11.0 shots and 4.06 shots on target per game.

The short-term home data is even stronger. Across the last four home games, Brentford have posted 2.04 non-penalty xG, only 0.89 xGA and 9.38 xPTS. They have also created seven big chances and allowed none.

West Ham arrive with pressure around the relegation fight and sit only two points above the bottom three. Their away process is weak, with 1.20 xG, 1.56 xGA, 14.71 shots conceded and 5.41 shots on target faced per away match.

Brentford’s set-piece strength also matters, with 16.54 set-piece xG facing a West Ham side that has conceded 17 set-piece goals.

Score 2-1 at 15/2 with Skybet

Arsenal vs Fulham

Arsenal’s home profile is the strongest in the league. They have won the xG battle in all 17 home matches, sit first for home xPTS with 37.53, and rank first for home xG ratio, shots on target ratio, shots in box ratio and touches ratio.

Their home attacking and defensive numbers justify a controlled win. Arsenal average 1.80 xG and only 0.81 xGA at home, while allowing just 1.88 shots on target and 3.47 shots inside the box per game. They have also kept nine home clean sheets, a 53% rate.

Fulham are competitive, but their away profile is modest. They average 1.15 xG and 1.30 xGA away, have failed to score in 41% of away games and rank only 14th for away xPTS.

Across the last eight games, Arsenal have 14.27 xPTS and 1.65 xG. Fulham have taken points, but the matchup is difficult. Arsenal’s control and clean-sheet base point to a home win.

• Score 2-0 at 6/1 with Skybet

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace

Bournemouth against Crystal Palace looks one of the more competitive matches on the slate. Bournemouth are strong at home in the underlying numbers, ranking sixth for home xPTS with 30.61. They average 1.66 xG at home and have won the xG battle in 13 of 17 home matches, a 76.5% rate.

Their recent numbers also support goals. Across the last eight games, Bournemouth have posted 1.82 xG and 12.35 xPTS, while both teams to score and over 2.5 goals landed in 100% of those matches. Over the last four home games, they produced 1.89 non-penalty xG and 8.02 xPTS.

Crystal Palace are dangerous enough to make this close. They have won 50.0% of their away xG battles and their away xG sits at 1.36 with only 1.19 xGA. Across the last four games, Palace have also been strong, with 7.17 xPTS and only 0.79 xGA.

Bournemouth’s home edge is narrow, but their attacking volume can prove decisive.

• Score 2-1 at 7/1 with Skybet

Man Utd vs Liverpool

This looks the best game for goals. Manchester United’s home both teams to score rate is 65%, while Liverpool’s away both teams to score rate is also 65%. In the last four home versus away comparison, United’s home both teams to score was 100% and Liverpool’s away both teams to score was 75%, with an 88% combined both teams to score and over 2.5 profile.

United are strong at Old Trafford, ranking second for home xPTS with 33.14 and winning 15 of 17 home xG battles. They average 1.62 xG and 6.76 shots on target at home, the best home SOT figure in the league.

Liverpool remain dangerous on the road. They rank third for away xPTS with 26.33, average 1.60 xG away and have won 52.9% of away xG battles. Their away games also land over 2.5 goals in 71%.

Recent form keeps it tight. United have 13.30 xPTS over the last eight, Liverpool 11.60. Both attacks should land, but neither side looks safe enough defensively to trust.

• Score 2-2 at 9/1 with Skybet

The total odds for all six games are a massive 384,369/1 with Skybet, which may be worth a £1 stake for some fun. I am keen to back Brighton to win 2-1 at Newcastle and Bournemouth to beat Palace by the same score line. Combining these two games combined gives you odds of 75/1 with Skybet.

Guys, two teams that I like the look of to score 2+ goals on Sunday are Racing Santander and Juventus.

I’m starting off with Racing Santander to score at least twice at home to relegation-threatened Huesca. The Segunda leaders have fired in 2+ goals in 12/18 (67%) of their league outings at home this season – including in three of their past four – and look well-equipped to bag another double at home against a poor-travelling Huesca side that has shipped multiple goals in each of their last four and five of their previous six away matches in the Spanish second tier.

Next, Its Juventus to score two or more goals at home to a Hellas Verona side on the cusp of relegation. The Old Lady have struck at least twice in three of their last four and eight of their previous 11 Serie A encounters on home soil, and should possess too much firepower for a Verona side that has conceded 2+ goals in 5/6 of their trips to the top-eight.

Going for the usual 3 points double that pays 21/20 at bet365.

Both Teams to Score Double

Other goal bets that I like the look of on Sunday include a 7/5 Both Teams to Score double of Celta Vigo vs Elche and Manchester United vs Liverpool.

• Both Teams to Score has paid out in 23/33 (70%) of Elche’s La Liga fixtures this season – including in 13/16 (81%) of them away from home – whilst 10 of Celta’s last 15 matches at home in the Spanish top-flight have produced goals at both ends.
• Manchester United have seen Both Teams to Score land in 25/34 (74%) of their Premier League fixtures this season – including in six of their last seven – whilst the Reds have seen goals at both ends in six of their past seven and 10 of their previous 13 Premier League outings.

Over 2.5 Goals Tips

An over 2.5 goals treble at Karlsruher, Volendam and Lyon, 1 point at 2.55/1.

• Over 2.5 Goals has landed in 12/15 (80%) of Karlsruher’s 2. Bundesliga fixtures in front of their supporters this campaign – including in 10 of their past 11 – whilst seven of Darmstadt’s last eight away fixtures in the German second tier have produced three or more goals.
• Heerenveen have seen Over 2.5 Goals payout in 24/31 (77%) of their Eredivisie fixtures this season – including in each of their last 11 – whilst 10/15 (67%) of Volendam’s home matches in the Dutch top flight have seen a minimum of three strikes.

The Clarets have sacked boss Scott Parker after their return to the Championship was rubber-stamped by a narrow loss to Manchester City.

The only things Leeds have left to play for this season is staying in the Premier League after losing their FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea last weekend.

They still have to play drop rivals Spurs and West Ham in the run-in so Daniel Farke's men can't afford to take their foot off the gas.

Three points tonight would give them some breathing space and Leeds are 4/11 hot favourites with William Hill against a Burnley side in disarray.

It's hard finding value with Farke's side heavy favourites but backing them to be winning at half-time and full-time pays 21/20 with BOYLESports.

The same firm also offer 13/10 on Leeds -3 in the corner handicap and that appeals as the home side should be on the front foot throughout.

Livingston vs Aberdeen

Livingston are clinging on their place in the SPFL Premiership by their fingernails and have another must-win game at home to Aberdeen tonight.

The Lions could have been relegated last weekend but they claimed a 2-0 win at St Mirren as second-bottom Kilmarnock lost 1-0 at Pittodrie.

However, Marvin Bartley's men remain nine points adrift with just four games to play so they probably need to win every remaining match to stay up.

That triumph in Paisley was just their second in the league all season so it's not a big surprise to see them as 9/5 outsiders with most firms tonight.

Aberdeen have nothing to play for but new boss Stephen Robinson is still looking to build some momentum so they could be worth a punt at 11/8 with Bet365.

Livingston have to go for it so this should be a decent watch and combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays 6/5 at Betfred.

Raith Rovers vs Ross County

It's the final round of games in the SPFL Championship tonight and all the drama will come at the bottom end of the table.

Ross County prop up the pile but a win away to Raith Rovers tonight should hand them a lifeline with the two teams directly above them facing off as Morton host Airdrie.

If the Diamonds come out on top then County will need a three-goal win in Kirkcaldy to jump above Morton.

Stuart Kettlewell's side have found form in the last couple of weeks, beating Ayr and Morton, so the away win appeals tonight at 31/20 with BetVictor, given Raith have nothing to play for.

Ross County need to go for it so I also like the 11/10 on offer at Bet365 for the Staggies to win over 4.5 corners.

Ciaran Kilduff’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in the Irish top flight, firing in 22 goals across their opening 13 matches, with 13 (59%) of them coming in front of their supporters.

The Railwaymen Have failed to score just twice since their return to the Irish top flight, scoring 2+ goals in seven (54%) of them – including in four of their past five at home – and will be confident of breaching a Shelbourne backline that has kept just two clean sheets in the league this season, shipping multiple goals in each of their last four and six of their past nine.

Ex-Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United defender, Joey O’Brien, has seen his side score 19 goals across their opening 12 matches in the LOI Premier Division this term, with eight (42%) of them coming across their five road trips.

The Reds have blanked just once in the league this season – scoring on multiple occasions in three of their past four and seven of their last 10 – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring record against a Dundalk defence that’s kept just three clean sheets in the league this season.

It has been a rollercoaster season for Nottingham Forest, who are on to their fourth manager as they fight to stay in the Premier League.

Aston Villa have been far more stable under Unai Emery and he knows what it takes to win this tournament, having lifted the trophy four times with Sevilla and Villarreal.

Emery's side haven't been playing particularly well of late though while Forest head into tonight's first leg on a high after spanking Sunderland 5-0.

That makes the home win appealing at a best 8/5 with Betfair tonight but backing the half-time draw looks like the safest option at 23/20 with BetMGM.

This one could be spicy with so much at stake and combative Villa skipper John McGinn is a tempting 3/1 at Ladbrokes to go into the book.

Sporting Braga vs Freiburg

German side Freiburg have never reached a European final but only Sporting Braga now stand in their way in the Europa League.

Freiburg head into this clash on a bit of a downer after losing 2-1 to Stuttgart in the DFB Pokal and crashing to a 4-0 Bundesliga defeat at Dortmund.

Braga also lost at the weekend away to Santa Clara but had been in good form before that, going six games without defeat.

The Portuguese side are 7/5 favourites with Bet365 for a win tonight and that looks decent value given they have home advantage.

Ricardo Horta should offer the biggest threat for Braga and the forward is 13/5 at Ladbrokes to have over 1.5 efforts on target.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are closing in on the Conference League Final but will need to take care of a Shakhtar Donetsk side with much more European experience.

The Ukrainians have been Champions League stalwarts for the last couple of decades but the conflict in their homeland has understandably had a major impact in recent years.

Despite playing all their home games on neutral ground, Shakhtar have still managed to reach the last four and will fancy their chances in Poland tonight.

They beat Dutch side AZ Alkmaar 3-0 at ‘home' in the quarter-finals but are as big as 3/1 with some firms for a win tonight.

Crystal Palace do look like a step up in class from any side Shakhtar have faced so far this term in Europe so the Eagles could be worth a punt at evens with Bet365.

Jean-Philippe Mateta should start up front after a starring role in the quarter-finals and the giant Frenchman is 6/5 at QuinnBet for a goal or assist.

You can easily picture teams like Brazil or England putting three or four past weaker opposition without getting out of second gear.

These are the kind of fixtures where trends tend to repeat.

World Cup 2026 Golden Boot – Kane ticks all the boxes but Mbappe is also a good shout

Golden Boot betting is often about timing and opportunity as much as talent.

Harry Kane stands out because he usually takes penalties, plays every minute, and faces manageable group opponents, but all that applies to Kylian Mbappe as well.

However, Kane could edge it here as England tend to start tournaments well in recent years, which helps rack up early goals.

Mbappe will be there or thereabouts again, but Kane’s consistency in tournaments is hard to ignore.

World Cup 2026 Dark Horse – Portugal could quietly go far

The Miners have blanked in just one of those 12 Conference League encounters – impressively scoring 2+ in eight of their past 10 – and will look to breach a Palace backline that has conceded in each of their last three and four of their previous five continental clashes on their travels.

After scoring just three goals across their opening four European matches this campaign, Oliver Glasner’s visitors have scored 18 goals across their next 10.

The Eagles have failed to score in just one of their previous 10 European encounters – scoring 2+ goals in six (60%) of them – and will look to breach a Shakhtar defence that has kept just four clean sheets in the Conference League this term.

But it's still a fascinating match-up as Mikel Arteta looks to outwit Diego Simeone and take the Gunners a big step towards their second Champions League final.

Simeone has already led Atletico into Europe's biggest showpiece twice and the Argentine will be hoping a win on home soil in tonight's first leg can lay the foundations for another shot at glory.

Atletico Madrid vs Arsenal top betting tips

Armchair fans across the world were spoiled in the first semi-final last night as PSG and Bayern Munich played out a nine-goal thriller at the Parc des Princes.

It would be a major surprise if we saw anywhere near the same amount of excitement tonight given Arteta and Simeone are both known to favour pragmatism over idealism.

The Gunners only edged out Sporting Lisbon 1-0 on aggregate in the quarter-finals and I'd imagine this clash could be equally cagey.

The bookies agree as under 2.5 goals only pays 4/6 with BetVictor tonight but the half-time draw offers more value at 11/10 with Paddy Power.

Veteran Koke will be a key man for Atletico and I like the 23/10 on offer at Ladbrokes for the 34-year-old to commit over 1.5 fouls in what could be a frantic midfield battle.

Sporting Lisbon vs Tondela

Sporting Lisbon will be thinking about what might have been as they take on Tondela in the Primeira Liga tonight instead of Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals.

Rui Borges's men still have a bit of work to do if they want to take a seat at Europe's top table next season, with only the top two in Portugal sealing Champions League places.

Sporting currently sit third but a win tonight would move them above Lisbon rivals Benfica on goal difference with three games to play.

Their form since losing to Arsenal has been poor, with a derby defeat at home to Benfica followed by a 1-1 draw away to AVS.

But Sporting are just 2/15 for a victory against second-bottom Tondela after winning 3-0 in the reverse fixture.

Goal difference could decide who ends up finishing second so Borges's side should be at full pelt for 90 minutes. So I'm going to take a punt on them winning both halves at 11/10 with William Hill.

Winger Trincao has gone five games without a goal and could be due a return to scoring form. He's 17/10 at BetMGM to add to his 10-goal Sporting tally this term.

Den Bosch vs Almere City

The promotion play-offs are underway in the Netherlands and it should be tight as Den Bosch take on Almere City.

Den Bosch claimed the last place in the play-offs after finishing ninth in the second tier, with Almere four places and seven points above them.

But it was Den Bosch who came out on top in the head-to-head, following up a 5-2 home win with a 2-1 victory in Almere.

That suggests the home win could provide a bit of value tonight at a decent 8/5 with Ladbrokes.

BTTS and over 2.5 goals came up in both those meetings but it could be more cagey tonight with so much at stake and a second leg looming at the weekend.

So betting against BTTS might be worth a punt, given the odds are pretty high at 2/1 with SkyBet.

Atletico Madrid vs Arsenal (Wednesday, 20:00)

Both looking to move one step closer to continental supremacy, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal will meet at the Estadio Metropolitano on Wednesday night for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.

After finishing outside the top eight in the league phase, Atletico Madrid have since seen off Club Brugge, Tottenham and Barcelona to secure their place in the last four.

Arsenal, by contrast, cruised through the league phase with eight wins from eight and have since produced a pair of professional aggregate victories over Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting Lisbon.

I've already covered this Spanish capital showdown in a separate match preview, but here I want to take a closer look at one of the recommended selections.

The 11/8 available with bet365 for Julian Alvarez to commit two or more fouls certainly holds appeal and offer value.

The Atletico Madrid attacker is aggressive in his approach and presses relentlessly from the front.

The data bears that out, with Alvarez committing an average of 1.65 fouls per game in this season’s Champions League.

The Argentine’s tendency to overstep the mark was particularly evident in the previous round against Barcelona, where he racked up a combined six fouls across both legs, committing 2+ in each game.

A wider look shows Alvarez has been penalised twice or more in five of his last six outings in Europe’s premier club competition.

Southampton vs Ipswich Town

The race for automatic promotion in the EFL Championship is hurtling towards a dramatic finale and Southampton can make it a four-way fight if they beat Ipswich Town tonight.

The Tractor Boys are in the box seat and a win at St Mary's would pretty much nail down second spot, given they would be three points clear of Millwall with a vastly superior goal difference heading into the final round of fixtures.

But if Ipswich lose then only one point will separate second from fourth, setting up an incredible day of drama on Saturday.

Saints are the form team in the division, although their 20-game unbeaten run in all competitions came to a heart-breaking end at Wembley on Saturday as Manchester City scored two late goals to beat them in the FA Cup semi-final.

Betfred still make Southampton 5/4 favourites tonight and Ipswich look a little overpriced at 21/10 with Ladbrokes as they bid to secure a Premier League return.

Both teams will be going for it in what should be an open game so I fancy over 10.5 corners at 11/10 with Paddy Power.

Peterborough United vs Mansfield Town

Peterborough United have the chance to secure safety in EFL League One tonight when they host Mansfield Town.

Posh sit three points ahead of fourth-bottom Exeter and that means a point would be enough tonight to banish the spectre of relegation.

Mansfield sit mid-table with nothing to play for so I'm tempted by the 6/4 on offer at Bet365 for a home win, although these sides could easily play out a stalemate.

Peterborough should have most of the pressure as the only team with something and stake and they're a decent 11/10 at QuinnBet to win most corners.
