THE only online bookie that lists SPFL and first-scorer prices for every game are McBookie.

McBookie's Damian Walker is back with his first-scorer tips and he's also challenging punters to pick their own.

Every week one person with a correct prediction will be chosen at random to win a £10 bet – and if you backed your tip with McBookie with at least a fiver they'll double the prize to £20.

You can comment with your pick here and give any reasoning but to enter the contest you have to email mrfixit@dailyrecord.co.uk.

Quote player's club and first-scorer price with McBookie – Scottish games only – for a chance to win. There were no winners last week.

Here is Damian with this weekend's selections. He says: “Another trying weekend on the tipping front last Saturday, with Motherwell and East Fife both securing away wins, but no first goalscorer to go with them.

“I’ll begin this week in League One where Raith Rovers have been all the rage in the antepost markets over the past couple of weeks and it is not difficult to see why.

“Since losing to East Fife at the end of August, Rovers have despatched red-hot title favourites Falkirk out of the Challenge Cup and thrashed Peterhead 4-0 in the league.

“A feature of both games has been the return of Lewis Vaughan who made his first appearance in almost eight months in that Falkirk game.

“Vaughan scored nine times from just 13 games last season until hit by injury and now he is back firing on all cylinders Raith can expect more of the same.

“And I’d go as far as saying a fully-fit Lewis Vaughan is the comfortably the best player in the division. On Saturday Raith travel to face Airdrie who have made an okay start to this season but I fully expect the visitors to come away with three points and hopefully Vaughan scores the opening goal priced at 5-1 with McBookie.

“I’m staying in League One for my second selection which is in the match showcasing the two promoted teams from League Two last season – Peterhead v Clyde.

“I stated some time ago this season that I thought Clyde would prove to be one of the better teams in the division and despite playing the first three favourites in the antepost title betting, Clyde have performed creditably to take eight points from their first six league games.

“And it looks as though they are starting to really get their act together having claimed the scalp of title favourites Falkirk as well as beating Championship side Queen of the South in the Challenge Cup.

“Last weekend they took Stranraer apart 6-1 with David Goodwillie scoring an incredible five goals – three from the penalty spot.

“I don’t expect them to put six past Peterhead on Saturday but I would have them favourites over the home side. The bookies see it the other way with Peterhead 11-8 and Clyde 9-5 outsiders.

“Goodwillie is the obvious choice for the first scorer after his incredible efforts last weekend and he is 7-2 with McBookie.

“In League Two Cove Rangers are red-hot title favourites and have made an excellent start to the season. However, they have done so by conceding nine goals in their six league matches, including four against Albion Rovers and two last weekend against bottom side Brechin.

“On Saturday they travel to face Elgin  who I feel have a great chance of inflicting a first league defeat on Cove.
Amazingly, the home side are a massive 15-4 to win. That looks a huge overreaction to their 1-0 loss to Stirling Albion last weekend.

“And it is worth reiterating Brechin, who have lost nine of their 11 matches, managed to score two goals against Cove in a 4-2 defeat last week.

“I would expect Elgin to do at least as well and hopefully can stop them going in at the other end. Striker Shane Sutherland has made a brilliant return to Elgin scoring 12 times in 13 games and five in six league matches.

“Because Cove are such as short price, Sutherland can be backed at 13-2 with McBookie to score first.
Can you find a winner!.”
