I'D rather my team won than my bets so it was a bit of a double whammy seeing Scotland crash to defeat in Georgia.

In the past I wouldn't have risked a penny on the Scots but disastrous displays like the one we produced in Tbilisi were supposed to have been confined to the past.

One point was lost on Scotland to win by one and the second Super Single went down when Robbie Keane wasn't the Republic of Ireland's first scorer against Gibraltar.

Thankfully it was a profitable day as the Top Treble won at 4-1 thanks to Northern Ireland, both to score at Germany v Poland and under 2.5 goals at Greece v Finland.

On Saturday we have a mixture of Euro 2016 qualifiers and English and Scottish matches to look at. My top tips are from the Daily Record and feature exclusively domestic matches and I've posted a separate Euro 2016 and Scottish preview with recommended bets.

My Super Single is a team that's been good to me recently and that's Walsall. They are no certs at home to Bury who are probably in false position and have a quality striker on Tom Pope.

Walsall though have the prolific Tom Bradshaw but will be without Neil Etheridge and Jason Demetriou who are on international duty for Philippines and Cyprus respectively. New signing Isaiah Osbourne is in the squad.

Striker Leon Clarke and midfielder Kelvin Etuhu are doubts for Bury. On current form Walsall should beat a side conceding goals for fun but it's League One and nothing is a given.

My Top Treble features Scunthorpe at home to Blackpool and it's worth going against the sorry tangerines until the get a win under their belts. I've added Rangers -1 and Dunfermline to score but both have been cut. If you can't find Pars to score look at Forfar clean sheet or go with both to score as that is likely to come in too.

Bets with points advised will be included in the stats but long shots won't so do them for low stakes.

Mrfixit, was there a specific reason why peterhead didn’t make it on any of your bets?

      Hi Mr. F

I’m an avid follower of your column. I’m on sabbatical in Africa. At this juncture all I’d like to say is that all football tipsters should stand in a line and get shot one by one in the head LOL. The footie is absolutely impossible at the moment with the exception of Rangers et al.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Alex, made some money on Rangers goals and handicaps.
Disppointed in Walsalll especiallys as my second and third choice Super Singles won – Morton and Morecambe.
But that’s football – look forward to next weekend’s full card.

In moderation from yesterday’s thread – try again as could have a bearing on a fair few bets tomorrow:

Lot of lads backing Walsall against Bury tomorrow and I posted my thoughts earlier in the week on this one stating team news would be critical.

Looks like we will be without Leon Clarke again – hamstring still an issue, Nardiello still out (that’s our potential top attacking line-up ) Etuhu and O’Brian…and as we knew, on-loan keeper Christian Walton is back at Brighton due to injury which leaves us with Rob Lainton who is a fair keeper but I have my own doubts about.

Walsall will be without a couple on international duty but welcome a couple of new signings who could start.

In a nutshell, I’m not as confident as I was earlier in the week!

Hope this helps anyone’s thinking ahead of the game…my opinion: heart says draw at 5/2 and head says…well, read between the lines.

    Hey Guys,
I did alright last week with a selection i was confident with coming in to win. (Charlton to Lead anytime) Hope some of you had it.
Alot of toughies this week because of the international break.

Also i saw Corals are having their Online sign up offer at 7/1 for England to score 5 or more Goals against San Marino…Is that really going to happen??? I honestly don’t think so, not with that squad. Under 5.5 Goals is the way to go, Evens with Betfred! I’ll be having that.

    Super single this week.

    SATURDAYS SUPER SINGLES:

Looked at satudays Euro’s and have to say im very tempted by Slovakias odds on the +2 handicap markets away to Spain who have won last 2 games 1-0 in the group against Belarus and Ukraine and lost 2-1 against Slovakia in an earlier group meeting.
The Slovaks have won last 9 games and 12/14 losing just once away to Russia in a friendly in may 2014 and have only conceded 3 times from 6 group games. The spanish have lost 6/13 games including friendlies and i just cant see them beating a very good Slovakia team by more than a single goal if at all.
Possible Saturday Super Single Mr F?? SLOVAKIA +2 @ EVENS Betfair.

    Walsall v Bury:
    Walsall Win/Over 1.5 Goals @ 15/8 Paddy Power.
This price looks huge and must be based on recent meetings stats rather than form,Walsall won 4/5 lg 2 games losing none and reaching over 1.5 in each win scoring 11 { lg best} conceding just 3, Bury won 0/5 but drawing 4 times and have conceded 11 times,2nd worst in the division.Walsall have failed to beat them in last 6 meetings but these were between Feb 2001 and April 2013 so shouldnt really mean much this Saturday, cant see any other reason for the huge odds unless Bury have bought Messi
    Exeter v Leyton Orient

    Leyton Orient Win/Over 1.5 @ 6/4 away to Exeter.
Leyton Orient look like they are the class act in this league and looking very strong canditates to regain an immediate promotion back to league 1,they have won 5/5 lg 2 games and reached the over 1.5 Tgs each time scoring a lg high 13 times, conceding just 3.
Exeter have won 2 lost 2 drawing 1 those wins coming against sides sitting bottom 4 and the draw at home to a york side sitting bottom 6.
Odds of 6/4 paddypower should be snapped up in this one.

Gutted for Scotland but the bets did well enough with my 8/1 treble and 10/1 dour draws landing to give me 7.3 points of profit overall but Scotland’s defeat made it a less than enjoyable night.

Still, onwards and upwards. Here are my previews, predictions and suggested bets for tomorrow’s action.

    EURO qualification Group E

18:00 San Marino vs England – Prediction – 0.5 – Suggested Bets – Why bother?

The most pointless team in European football take on San Marino…Just joking. San Marino, famed for their levels of utter mediocrity take on an England who despite winning every fixture are somehow seen in a similar light by their ever so flattering media.

Still, this is a fixture that is barely worth writing about but alas I shall carry on. Coffee please.

England will win. By at least 3, probably by 4 to 6 goals. Is the handicap of -5 @20/21 worth it? I don’t know. It’s San Marino and it’s pointless. When will UEFA introduce preliminary tournaments for these teams?

Will Wayne Rooney break Sir Bobby’s record? If he starts he only needs 2 goals to do it and the bookies expect he will with crazy short odds of just 8/11 on the United striker to be the first Englishman to hit 50 International goals by getting a double or more tonight.

I just have this feeling that Rooney might not want to break the record in a setting as utterly futile as this and it would not surprise me to see him rested for this one with Harry Kane perhaps given a chance to score the goals that will give this San Marino team yet another defeat on their record although team news suggests it will be Leicester man Jamie Vardy given the chance to play in attack. Maybe England are average afterall.

San Marino did actually draw their last home qualifier, a 0.0 with Estonia which broke a sequence of 57 successive defeats in competitive fixtures. Perhaps they are on the rise?

    England better watch out…

20:45 Switzerland vs Slovenia – Prediction 2.0- Suggested Bets – Switzerland to win @!/2, Shakiri to score anytime @21/10

3rd placed Slovenia visit the beautiful land of chocolate and knives to take on group leaders Switzerland in a match that is vitally important to both sides with 1 automatic qualifying position still up for grabs.

The hosts know that a victory will all but guarantee a place at next summers finals while the visiting Slovenians know a win could put them right back in the hunt so both sides have everything to play for in this one.

3 points separate the two sides and the Slovenians will know that should they lose here and Estonia beat Lithuania, they would find themselves 4th in the section and that eventuality is very much a possibility for the future Scotland opponents who will be hoping for at least a point here.

I expect a home win and the bookies agree, pricing the Swiss @1/2 on to take the full points on offer and their home record does suggest they are capable of doing that against a side that don’t tend to travel all that well.

Slovenia have lost 7 of their last 8 away games going back 2 years while the Swiss have won 8 of their previous 11 home qualifiers going back 5 years with England they only team to beat them in 16 previous home fixtures in qualifying matches although the English did win twice in that period.

But this is a good Swiss team these days with exciting talent like Xhaka and Shakiri to call upon, indeed Shakiri is now a major talisman for the Swiss and I expect them to edge to a win over there visiting neighbours to the east. The home side in good form, winning 5 of their last 7 against a team that don’t travel well and probably don’t possess enough firepower to hurt their opponents today.

Speaking of firepower, Shakiri @21/10 to score anytime is far too tempting considering the new Stoke man’s recent record for the Swiss. 4 goals and 4 assists in his last 4 appearances in the qualifiers, with 9 goals in 16 Internationals going back 18 months. The gifted winger is his countries main source of inspiration and it would not surprise me to see him make the difference here in a game that should prove to be tight.

    18:00 Estonia v Lithuania – Prediction – Suggested Bets – No bets

This isn’t a game I want to get involved in. No bets

    EURO qualification Group G

    18:00 Russia vs Sweden – Prediction -1.1 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @11/10, Draw @12/5

3rd placed Russia welcome rivals Sweden to Moscow with 3 points a necessity for the home side who trail their opponents today by 4 points and leaders Austria by a further 4 points in this interesting section.

Fabio Capello has been dismissed and replaced with the brilliantly named former CSKA boss Leonin Slutsky and this should at least deliver a short-term boost for the ailing home side.

Any team getting rid of Capello is bound to pick up by at least 20% and the Russians will need it having lost their last home fixture to Austria in what has been a desperately disappointing campaign for the 2018 World Cup host nation who have also dropped points at home to lowly Moldova as well as losing in Austria to hand 6 points to their key rivals.

Sweden will be more than happy with a point and with Zlatan in their ranks, they are more than capable of scoring on the road having managed that feat in 13 of their previous 14 qualifiers going back 5 years. Ibrahimovic is 7/4 to score anytime and considering his recent record, it must be a decent punt.

The eccentric but deadly striker might be 33 now, but is in the form of his life for his country having scored 5 in his last 3 starts, 28 goals in his previous 28 games for Sweden going back 4 years and 56 in 105 caps overall. His club form ain’t too shabby either with just the 106 goals in 120 starts for PSG over 3 years. Those are some numbers almost comparable to the 2 best players in the world.

My feeling is that Russia will need to play an attacking game with 3rd place and the play-offs little consolation to this country so we should expect them to go for it and really try to take the game to the Swedes which should make for a reasonably open contest.

I’m gonna try BTTS here at a big price of 11/10 in a game that I expect to be quite open, due to the Russians absolute need to win and the expectant crowd who are likely to get restless if their team are not delivering. The new boss will be expected to produce a positive result but Sweden are still a decent team with a truly world class forward to call upon.

In the end, I think the spoils will be shared and a 1.1 draw is my call for this one so the BTTS has a chance at a big price of 11/10 and if you fancy a goal scorer, you can’t look beyond Zlatan.

20:45 Austria vs Moldova – Prediction – Suggested Bets – Austria to score less than 3 goals (under 2.5) @8/11, David Alaba to score anytime @13/5, Marco Janko to score anytime @10/11

The Austrians have 5 wins from 6 and are all but guaranteed to be at next summers finals and the visit of Moldova is unlikely to halt that progress with the hosts as short as 1/7 to win against modest opponents.

While a home win looks routine enough on paper, it might not be quite so straight-forward with the Moldovan’s not quite as weak as you might imagine.

The visitors have not conceded more than 2 goals in any of their previous 10 away fixtures with England the only team to beat them by more than 3 in their last 15 away.

Austria themselves while having this great campaign are not exactly huge goalscorers having failed to score more than 1 goal in any of their last 10 at home while the previous meeting in Chisinau between these two sides saw the Austrians claim the points with a narrow 2.1 success.

Therefore, I’m considering backing Austria to score less than 3 goals @8/11. They have failed to score more than 1 goal in any of their last 10 at home and Moldova’s record of not conceding more than 2 goals in any of their previous 10 away fixtures, and only once in 15 makes this a bet worth trying.

In the anytime goalscorer market, I fancy the experienced Marco Janko to find the net. The Basel forward has 3 goals in his last 3 qualifiers, 21 from 46 caps overall and is in good form for his club side with 3 goals in his last 2 starts. Janko is 10/11 to score.

I also like the brilliant David Alaba in this market with the Bayern man a juicy 13/5 to score anytime. The full back and set piece expert plays a more advanced role for his country and has 3 goals in 4 qualifers. He’s on free-kicks and penalties and it might be that the Austrians who struggle for goals might find it hard to break down the Moldovans. A set piece could be one of their best bets and the full-back come midfielder will be a big attacking threat. 13/5 looks over-priced to me.

I envisage a low scoring yet comfortable home win for Austria in a game where I do not expect a flood of goals but they should get their in the end and hopefully one of the 2 players mentioned will get a goal.

20:45 Montenegro vs Liechtenstein – Prediction – Suggested Bets – No bets

The hosts are in a rotten run of form and with only 5 points so far don’t look likely to qualify for next summer’s finals and while you would expect the home win, the 1/7 on offer is too short and this is a fixture to avoid. No bets.

    EURO qualification Group. C

18:00 Luxembourg vs Macedonia – No bets

Neither side is in the running to qualify so for that reason, it’s another match worth avoiding and really, who wants to bet on a fixture like this?

    18:00 Ukraine vs Belarus – Prediction – 2.0 = Suggested Bets – No bets

Ukraine are just a little short @2/5 odds on to win here with Belarus a decent opponent on their day and the hosts have proved in recent times that they are capable of slipping up at home.

Traditionally Ukraine are strong on their own patch but recent form is less than convincing. They lost their first home qualifier to Slovakia and then only narrowly scraped past Macedonia with a 1.0 win. Two recent friendlies have seen them held to draws at home with both Lithuania and Latvia and while you would expect them to keep the pressure up on the top two in group with a win here, it might not be quite as straight-forward as the 2/5 price suggests.

If you want a home win on your coupon at reasonable odds then this is a fixture worth considering, as I would imagine the Ukrainians doing enough to get the points but something tells me that this fixture is best left to the pocket change bets.

20:45 Spain vs Slovakia- Prediction 1.0 – Suggested Bets – Slovakia plus 2 to win @1/1

The biggest game of the night sees group leaders Slovakia travel to the unusual location of Oviedo in northern Spain for a top of the table clash with current European champions Spain who sit 3 points behind their visiting opponents tonight who are all but guaranteed to be going to the big event in 9 months time having romped the group so far.

It has been a perfect section for Slovakia, with 6 wins from 6 and 18 points collected so far and their current form is outstanding with 12 wins from their last 13 International fixtures and 5 away wins from their previous 6.

Spain we know have struggled since their humiliating World Cup last summer and there isn’t enough tea in China to convince me that the home side are good value to win at crazy short odd of just 1/4 on.

The Spaniards have lost 6 of their last 13 fixtures since the beginning of the World Cup and they have barely picked up form since then with Slovakia beating them in Bratislava and 3 friendly defeats suffered at the hands of Germany, France and Holland where they failed to find the net even once. Their most recent fixture saw them edge to a nervy 1.0 win in Belarus and I really do not expect them to suddenly turn on the style here as those odds would suggest they should.

I’m really confident in backing Slovakia to win on the handicap with a 1/1 price available for Slovakia plus 2 goals! Simply put, I’m confident they won’t lose by more than 1, if indeed they do lose which for me, is by no means a lock.

The Spanish can’t really afford to drop any more points with an away game in Ukraine still to come and while they should just about get the win they need, the odds of 1/4 are in no reflection to the current form of the hosts and the relevant ability of the visitors and I can’t see this being anything other than a low scoring and very closely fought contest between an over-rated Spain and an under-rated Slovakia.

With only 3 defeats in 21 and 0 from their last 9 fixtures, this is a rapidly improving Slovak side and I expect them to put in a dogged and resolute performance that could really make life difficult for Spain and I believe they won’t lose by more than 1 goal in this fixture so I’ll take that at attractive 1/1 odds.

    Suggested Bets

    Switzerland to win @1/2
    Russia v Sweden – BTTS @11/10
Austria to score under 2.5 match goals @8/11
David Alaba to score anytime @13/5
Marco Janko to score anytime @10/11
Xherdan Shakiri to score anytime @21/10
Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score anytime @7/4
Slovakia plus 2 goals to beat Spain @1/1
    Russia v Sweden – draw @12/5

Exeter City v Leyton Orient. Orient to win&btts 3/1 @paddypower

Simple really, Leyton Orient are flying and Exeter usually get a goal at home, well except for last time out against York. I’m on it 2pts and in a 0.5 pt double with Morecambe win/btts.

    MARK CULLEN (BLACKPOOL)
    First/Anytime scorer.
This lad was very prolific for Luton and truth be known, is Blackpool’s only chance of getting a goal.BUT,if Wigan can knock 3 goals in against Scunny,as was the case 3 weeks back, then the boy Cullen, when Blackpool get their chances, and they will,he wont waste that opportunity. I mentioned Wigan, and a few on here are all over them, but, last week they were woeful, clueless, gutless, and yes shite, against Crewe. They are the descriptions of Wigan fans, mates at work. They did use the F word before their comments in their frustration. So,in a nutshell,Mark Cullen has every chance of scoring against Scunny if Wigan can get three!

    CULLEN 1st goal scorer 10/1
    Anytime 10/3

Footnote: Blackpools last four defeats against Walsall,Sheff U,Burton,Rochdale. No shame in that. Ok,I’m feeling sorry for them! Maybe its because as a kid I use to love going to Blackpool!

    Slovakia +2 (21/20)
Slovakia are flying high in the group with six wins out of six. They travel to a Spain side who they beat 2-1 earlier in the qualifiers and will be hopeful of getting a good result. Spain are awfully short against a team that are unbeaten and full of confidence. They may win, but I can’t see them beating the -1 handicap.

    Ukraine Win to Nil (11/10)
Ukraine have won all four matches against the bottom three teams in the group to nil so far this campaign (3-0, 3-0, 2-0, 1-0) and while they have been beaten by both Slovakia and Spain they managed to limit both teams to only one goal. They have already beaten Belarus 2-0 away from home and should have enough quality to brush them aside at home.

    Gillingham (5/4)
Doncaster have only lost once so far this season (3-0 away to Port Vale) but they are yet to score away from home. Gillingham on the other hand have started the season with two impressive home wins to nil against Wigan and Sheffield United, putting 2 past Wigan and 4 past United. They did draw last time out against Peterbrough but they look to be playing better at home and I have to have a go at odds of (5/4).

    Walsall v Bury BTTS (5/6)
Wallsall have started the season well and sit unbeaten at the top of the table with 13 points. Bury meanwhile are yet to win this season but have only lost once this season (in a 4-3 thriller against Fleetwood Town). Despite the lack of wins, Bury are the joint-third top scorers so far and have the second worst defence. Wallsall have conceded in both home games so far, albeit against opposition placed higher in the league, meanwhile Bury have seen BTTS in every game they have played so far this season. Walsall should probably have enough to win this but I prefer to take on the BTTS even if it is at lower odds.

    Linfield and Glentoran Double (1.17/1)
Linfield have covered the -1 handicap in every game so far so I feel fairly confident in taken them to win. Glentoran are playing a side who conceded 15 goals in their first four games, scoring once, and while they did manage a draw last time out Glentoran should have enough to win at home.

  44. Rowen 9 years ago

Hi guys, a very interesting fixture coming up later tonight:

    MEXICO – TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

It will be played on a neutral ground in Utah, USA. Mexico are in an interesting phase, surprisingly for many, they won the CONCAF Gold Cup back in July, after some cagey performances. Right now, they have a new coach and a much weaker team for this friendly fixture: Chicharito, Giovani dos Santos, Oribe Peralta (all crucial strikers), Ochoa (1st goalkeeper), Jesus Corona (2nd goalkeeper), Francisco Javier Rodriguez (crucial defender) are all missing for the team tonight. During the Gold Cup back in July, Tobago managed to bang 4 past them in a very entertaining 4-4 draw and I see no reason why they could not bang in at least one today. Given its a friendly, the new coach will probably experiment with team dynamics and that will give Tobago a fair chance going forward against this weakened squad.

    Morning Guys, Saturdays tips

I was deliberating between two teams and two scorers for my super single, but I have gone with my first instinct and it is Scunthorpe.

I think regulars know I never usually tip an odds on pick but, I was torn between Walsall, Wycombe and Scunthorpe. The latter team is my most confident pick. Blackpool have only scored in two games this season, while they have conceded 12. Scunthorpe have kept two clean sheets out of two at home this far this season, so I make them my best bet today, they are 4/6 at Betvictor.

Blackpool have conceded 16 goals already and if my super single is too short for you, then look at Paddy Madden who has scored 4 in 6, this season against a side that concede at least 2 goals per game. Madden is 13/10 Ladbrokes.

I like Mr F super single, but it is another team starting with W I like and that is Wycombe. They face Hartlepool who they have met six times since 2011 and have won the lot. They are close in the table but Hartlepool haven’t won in their last four. Wycombe have scored O1.5g in 5 of their last 6 meetings so I am on that rather than the straight win. It is 1/1 Coral.

My second anytime scorer is Jabo Ibehre. Carisle have scored ten goals in five, while Barnet have conceded seven in five. It is a big game for both sides who are near the bottom of the league, and the difference could be Ibehre who has 7 in his last 5. I am on at 7/4 Bet365

    Super Single

    SCUNTHORPE TO WIN 4/6

    WYCOMBE O1.5g 1/1

  54. MiniDuff 9 years ago

Couple of anytime goalscorers from league two. I know nothing about the players but current 2 top scorers in the league. Both worth a go I reckon, hopefully will get at least 1 from 2.

    Ibehre (7/4)

Top scorer in league two so far with 7 goals in 5 games. Has scored in 4 of those games and Carlisle are playing Barnet who have conceded 5 goals in their two away games, albeit against decent opposition.

    Corr (15/8)

Score 5 goals in 3 games for Cambridge before getting injured, who have drawn a blank in three games since. At home to Luton who are yet to keep a clean sheet in their 5 games this season. Tempted at having a go at FGS aswell at 11/2.

  55. thechief 9 years ago

Haha so tried posting just the tips, but that hit mod. Not sure what word it is but I will post again in the morning :)

Jordan possibly mate, I have noticed the Vikings are being cut, the bookies have been reading my thoughts a few months back, on them being a dark horse this season haha!

We have seen the last Thursday and Friday before the season starts. I may sit week 1 out as there are plenty of live games to watch, at best it will be prop bets for small stakes as we see what is what, with the new signings. It will be good to watch around 11hrs of live games on a Sunday, with big Kev and the boys :D

    Lincoln v Grimsby

  70. Greg Browning 9 years ago

Having trawled through Saturday’s card, not much stood out! Exeter v Leyton orient is my best bet of the day over 2.5 goals

There’s one other game I like along with an over 2.5 goals
    4 fold

    Northampton v Dag&Red

When I first looked at this gane, Nothampton stood out at 3/4 due to their good performances at Sixfields and the fact they have a fantastic record against the daggers! Looking into it further though, The visitors haven’t been performing as blandly as their league table would suggest, they’ve played some decent sides and are now unbeaten in three! No reason why they can’t net here and given Northampton are at home it should lead to goals

Back over 2.5 match goals 19/20

Scotland league 1 and 2 are usually good for goals and I’ve picked out 4 matches that should see some

    Annan v East Fife 13/20
    Montrose v Elgin 8/11
    East Stirling v Stirling 13/20
    Airdrie v Cowdenbeath 13/20

WasClueless, in today’s Record we map out what Scotland need – there are lots of ifs and buts.
Essentially we have to beat Poland at home and possibly draw with Germany. Our h2h beats Ireland and that could prove vital in what now looks a race for third.
Having said all that I’m not putting a penny on Scotland.

Looks fairly solid on paper Greg, will be happy if the anytime treble comes in, anything else would be a bonus. Not got time to look at much else, away up to Balmoor to watch the Blue Toon since there’s no Aberdeen game today!

  106. HullShaker 9 years ago

    Afternoon gents,

Posted my thoughts/team news on this one at various points and still think Bury could peg Walsall to a draw which pays 12/5…however, tip-wise, I’ll have Bury to score in the 2nd half at 11/10.

Also having a good go at England -5 at 31/20.

Anyone who can’t stand watching Rooney and co I’ve found a great alternative at 5.00…

Semi-finals of the Icelandic 4 Deild promotion campaign see Augenablik take on Vaengir Jupiters (great name) in the 1st leg.

I don’t expect a 0-0 and Over 4.5 goals appeals at 9/4. Augenblik to win and BTTS at 8/5 would be my other selection.

Good luck lads and come on you Shakers!

Also looks like Leon Clarke will start for us – could make all the difference – Bury out to a massive 11/4 now.

  113. Hampy 9 years ago

Am on sterling to score 2+ for decent odds of 3.50 but Rooney to score 2+ is very likely at 1.72 as only needs 1 more to be level with charlton or 2 more to to be englands topscorer

  114. HullShaker 9 years ago

The Ox starts for England and 3/1 for a brace is not a bad price…just got to be careful with multi goalscorers that they don’t get ‘pulled off’ too early. Fancy Shelvey to drive one in from range as well he’s evens anytime.

Hart, Clyne, Shaw, Stones Jagielka, Shelvey, Milner Barkley, Vardy, Rooney and Oxlade-Chamberlain

This is the team that is going to take us to the Euros next summer :D

I’m expecting history to be made and our Captain Wayne Rooney to break Sir Bobby Charlton all time scoring record, I fancy us to win 5 or 6 nil, so I am taking Rooney 2+ at evens at Skybet. The Ox as scored in 2 games against San Marino and he is 6/5 at Bet365.

ROONEY TO SCORE A BRACE 1/1
    OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN TO SCORE 6/5

    • Nick 9 years ago

    • Lon_don 9 years ago

if this is the best we could do we should at least go with pace play Rooney up top with Sterling behind him and Walcott and Ox on the wing. Otherwise go with Walcott up top with Rooney behind him and Sterling and Ox on the wing. We should at least experiment against a team we know wont even score against us.

Mr F any thoughts on Limerick to beat St Pats tonight.?

    16/5 at Bet365

Limerick have won 4, drawn 1 of last 5 whilst St Pats have won 1, lost 4 of last 5 although 3 of them were against Dundalk, Cork City at top of league

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Gopher, haven’t looked at Irish games today but noticed Racing Post’s Irish expert has tipped Limerick at 4-1.
He also suggests Sligo at 10-1 against Dundalk and that would be some double.

  156. Chy 9 years ago

    Mr F,
I wondered why you didn’t have Rangers -2 Asian Handicap as your SS especially as they were playing at home…

  157. malcolm caithness 9 years ago

Jordon to your question below :

Has James Tavernier scored all his goals from direct free kicks or is Scottish Championship football just that bad?,

Tavernier a overlapping right back and score most of his goals in open play but of late with free kicks,

Wallace is the overlapping left back and is also scoring in open play as the style Warbuton playing is 433 attacking football

  158. Jordan 9 years ago

Cheers lads. Pot luck but thought it was worth a tenner. Dullest game ever but atmosphere doesn’t help. Good stuff Mr F. Be surprised if the second doesn’t come but Woy might pull him off in the second half.

  159. WasClueless 9 years ago

  160. Jordan 9 years ago

Didn’t word that too well haha :) Woy might substitute Rooney in the second half.

Malcolm cheers, was it a free kick today? Fair few teams play 4-3-3 but you don’t see their full backs scoring every week.

    • John smith 9 years ago

If i hadn’t known Taverniers position before i would have thought he was an attacking midfielder/striker as he has some good close control and loves a mazy run. Warburton gives him licence to roam that perhaps he didn’t have at Wigan and his game has flourished.

  161. malcolm caithness 9 years ago

Davy I’ve got a tip watch the Russia game more excitement in it as both teams are attacking Russia 1-0 up that end game boring

  162. malcolm caithness 9 years ago

    should say England game boring

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

malcolm, what do you expect to be honest. Easy, routine win and hopefully Rooney gets a second.
For those asking about a bet tonight what about Switzerland -1 v Slovenia and Austria -1 v Moldova.
Pays just over 7-2 with various bookies.

  164. malcolm caithness 9 years ago

When I use to run Bishopton Boys Club U10 we always played the kids that way ,

Warburton has all the other teams at Rangers playing that way as well and is teaching the lad Aird who played right wing last season to play right back as he likes attacking full backs

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

malcolm, amazing difference for Rangers from last season – and making us money every week.

  165. Gopher 9 years ago

Ha ha, Limerick/Sligo double……getting 41/1 for that double just now, don’t think I could go against Dundalk (though maybe he knows something we all don’t)

Think I might play it safe and even just go for Limerick O1.5tgs which is 6/4 at bet365

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Heard something on the USA game about Dempsey possibly getting some minutes for Seattle against Toronto.
Seattle are missing Torres and Pappa through internationals, but other than that should be full strength.

Tried to post this an hour ago.

Ryan, Shaun and Miniduff, just a few comments regarding your bets on my team Slovakia on the handicaps against Spain tonight, hopefully I can offer some more insider insight:
As you all mentioned in your previews, we have had a dream like campaign so far, we are all aware of that so I won’t go into the stats again. Kozak is an awesome coach and the thing that seems to have uplifted our team the most is him getting the most out of players who are top-notch performers on club level but were delivering sub-paar performances for the national team. Most notably Hamsik (Napoli), Skrtel (Liverpool) and Kucka (AC Milan). However, the thing none of you caught notice of are the team news for today’s match. Skrtel, Durica, Kucka and Weiss are all unavailable for tonight’s game and this will be very significant. Although we are a rapidly improving team, we still lack in depth and these absentees will prove crucial for today’s game. We simply lack quality players who could come in their place of the bench. Skrtel’s and Durica’s absences will be the most siginificant in the middle of the defence. Gyomber, the youngster signed by Roma this summer, is likely to come in and probably Hubocan or Salata could partner up with him. Gyomber is a terrific player, but lacks experience for this kind of game and the latter in my eyes are nowhere near the quality of Skrtel or Durica. Kucka will be a bit easier to replace, as we have more quality alternatives in the middle of the field, but it will still be a big loss. Well and of course Vladimir Weiss missing will be huge. His pace down the flanks on the counterattack and ability to cut through the defence was a big weapon of ours back home in Zilina last year when we won.

To sum it up, these are huge absentees for our team and although Spain haven’t been as deadly as they used to be during the past year or two, they will take no chances with this game and definitely have the quality to cut our defence into pieces. I really hope that we can get a result and ensure qualification, but not a good bet on the handicaps tonight guys. All fan-like thoughts aside, I think we might get hammered tonight with this team out. 3-0, 4-0 I believe. Always check team news! ;)

Dundalk are one of those teams that win comfortably every week yet I only seem to bet on them when they have an off day. Blackpool are the same but the other way round.

  208. rensen 9 years ago

Dundalk should win.Sligo will sit back now and try to defend the draw.

  209. WasClueless 9 years ago

Eupen / Dundalk > 1.5 TGS WON :) … thanks for the pointer Hampy

  222. Scotty1504 9 years ago

Well that was a decent result, i done a double chance on both slingo and limerick, decent return for a £5 stake! Well in

  223. PumaDrifter 9 years ago

Cash out my slovenia DC bet…and put some money on swiss to win now @ 4.20….

Win win situation at the end. If swiss win i get even more money…if draw or slovenia im just happy for my country :D

  224. Gopher 9 years ago

Tell you what Mr F, yer man at the racing post was almost right with Sligo, hats off.

Cashout was never really decent on the double as Sligo were always coming from behind, would have been interesting if they had gone in front at anytime, would probably have taken whatever appeared as cashout at that time

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Gopher, he’s not bad usually. Limerick on its own was a good shout.

  225. Hampy 9 years ago

No probs wc i cashed out at 2-1 dundalk. Bottled it for about 6 bob profit.

  227. Scotty1504 9 years ago

Puma i bet you wish tou never bothered now lol…bit of a stinker

  228. Rowen 9 years ago

Hammered quite heavily into the Spanish asian handicaps, as I highlighted in my previous post, think they will bang in a couple more, the defence without Skrtel and Durica looks awful. Once again the guys who hammered into the Slovakian handicaps and BTS, always check team news, absolutely crucial in games like this…can’t win it just with the power of stats ;)

After last night’s success with Tobago scoring I am going to go with BTS on the Brazil game:

    Brazil – Costa Rica

In short: Brazil with a fairly weak lineup, definitely think Costa Rica can bang one or two in.

    BTS @ 10/11

    MLS

Had a look at a few previews for the MLS. NE are without Jermaine Jones who is with the US squad although has been injured for the last couple of months. Orlando should struggle to find any attacking threat whatsoever with Larin and Kaka on international duty. Between them they have 20 goal, with the rest of the team totaling 9.

Montreal are missing a few players but have all of their attack at the helm in Drogba, Piatti, Oduro, McInerney and Romero. Chicago is without their most recent threats in front of goal, David Accam who is with the Ghana side, they do have Igboananike however so still have a potential goal threat.

Seattle might just be in luck with Clint Dempsey supposedly being available to play. Martins and Dempsey together are a lethal combination and haven’t played as a pair since the 14th June so this is a massive boost. Toronto will be without Altidore who scored twice in the US comeback against Peru last night, with Michael Bradley purposely not being in the squad so he could play for Toronto. Giovinco should also start as he hasn’t been called up to the Italy squad (crazy when he’s probably the best in form Italian in the world right now).

New England Revolution Over 1.5 Team Goals – 12:30AM
Seattle Sounders Over 1.5 Team Goals – 3:00AM

    Double just shy of 9/5 @ WillHill (1.75/1) – 2.5 points

    New England -1
    Seattle & BTTS

    Shade over 7/1 @ WillHill (7.05/1) – 0.5 a point

      Jordan, isn’t Giovinco out injured?
What do you think of Kamara’s goal chances tonight with so many of his team mates out?

    • Nick 9 years ago

The loss of Giovinco and Altidore are big blows for Toronto—they are the club’s two leading scorers and they’ve combined for 27 of the Reds’ 44 goals this season, or 62 percent. Altidore, especially, has been in fine form, bagging three goals in his last two games, all as a substitute.

      That’s pretty huge haha

    • Nick 9 years ago

Giovinco was called up for the squad mate, but was injured so had to sit out.

    • John smith 9 years ago

Thanks, i thought i read that somewhere.

  230. Steve Martin 9 years ago

Wales look like a good bet tomorrow @ 1.80 with 365

  231. WasClueless 9 years ago

    Monday Goal scorers
    Muller (sorry guys v Scotland) / Lewandowski 2+ (v Gibraltor) @2/1
Both in cracking form … both scored in the Germany v Poland game … (in fact all the scorers were from Bayern with Gotze also getting 2) .. Gotze ATGS v Scotland is 13/8 …

    -1 Brazil AH @1.73 v Costa rica

Brazil playing a very strong side.

  234. PumaDrifter 9 years ago

Scotty..like mr f said…id rather my team won than my bets :D

So far so good :) 0-2 …almost 0-3 already ! I made the same thing in last match vs england. It was same scenario…Novakovic for 1-0 in 45min. Then I put money on england. They won 2-3 at thr end lol

  235. rensen 9 years ago
  236. Rowen 9 years ago

rensen, a strong line-up? :D Neymar on the bench, Thiago Silva, Dani Alves out, 3rd tier goalkeeper in goal, do you consider that a strong side? :D not in my opinion

    • rensen 9 years ago

I got restricted to £75 wanted £400 @1.73 after they refered me to their trading room.It is one of the big 3

    • rensen 9 years ago

  237. Jordan 9 years ago

The Trouble Tales of Craig Alves, now that would sell! What are you like haha

  238. Scotty1504 9 years ago

Yeh puma, i probably would have swapped a few of my winnings from some of the tips ive picked from the likes of mr f and greg for a scotland win last night but hey! The international games can be like these dreaded europa league scores

  239. Jordan 9 years ago

All MLS home teams to score 2 goals might be worth a £ or two. Pays just over 10/1 @ Willhill (10.27/1) but might get better elsewhere. Gonna have another fiver so 3.5 points out in total. Good luck if you take any picks.

  240. craneguy 9 years ago

no need to apologise WC a see Scotland getn horsed by Germany on Monday too tbh………….

    England v San Marino

    Skybet

    Request a bet special

Over 5.5 goals, a penalty to be scored and an own goal to be scored.

    22/1

In these uneven contests with a lot of panicking defenders often make rash tackles leading to a penalty or two. Incidentally San Marino have scored two own goals in the last two meetings against England and the same players scored.

Nice one craigyboy thoug I was not on it, but that was really spot on

  251. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

Flipping hell, no Arsenal goal in Argentina, one out again, apologies folks.
