McBOOKIE.COM are the only online bookie listing first-scorer tips for all SPFL games and once again we’ve teamed up with the Scots firm to look at some of the best bets from the lower leagues.

And if you leave your choice of first scorer as a comment at the end of this article or email your selection to mrfixit@dailyrecord.co.uk you will have a chance to win a £20 free bet with McBookie.com.

One person with a correct prediction will be picked at random to scoop a £10 free bet. But if you have backed your player with at least a fiver at McBookie.com your prize will be doubled.

Last week's winner was Peter Bradford of Stonehaven. He was one of many who backed Motherwell's Louis Moult at 8-1. Email your username to mrfixit@dailyrecord.co.uk to claim your prize.

Here is McBookie.com’s Damian Walker with his Saturday selections.

Damian writes: A nice 8-1 winner last weekend with Louis Moult scoring first in the League Cup semi-final against Rangers. Hopefully I can build on that after a slow start to the season.

“I am starting this week’s column again with Motherwell but this time in the Premiership. I had to look twice to see if I hadn’t misread the odds for their game with Hibs.

“My regular readers know I always price up the matches in my head and then check the bookmakers’ odds to see how they compare. It is a great exercise to do and you may find yourself backing teams you might not otherwise have and also avoiding obvious selections who are probably too short.

“Anyway, I had Motherwell as marginal favourites over Hibs with home advantage and excellent recent form, plus they sit three points ahead of the Hibees in the table. Added to that Hibs have won just three of their last 10 matches, while Motherwell have won eight.

“So my odds seem reasonable at 5-4 Motherwell, 15-8 Hibs, right? Wrong. According to the odds compilers they have Hibs generally at 11-10 market favourites with Motherwell outsiders at 11-5

“That is just crazy, maybe the bookies got carried out with Hibs’ midweek derby win over Hearts, but I put that more down to the Jam Tarts being awful and negative.

“So without repeating last week’s praise for Moult he is the selection for the first goal at 18-5 with McBookie.

“My next selection is in League One where Arbroath are scoring goals for fun. Last weekend they despatched Airdrie 7-1 and in their previous two league wins thrashed Stranraer 6-2 and Forfar 5-0.

“The Smokies have also beaten Ayr United in League One this season and I like the look of them at 11-10 to run though East Fife who have shipped 11 goals in their last three games.

“Ryan McCord playing a more forward role this season for Arbroath and is also on the pens and as a result has eight league goals already. McBookie make him 9-2 to opening the scoring in what could be a comfortable win.

“Finally, bookies are still not really cottoning on to League Two leaders Stirling Albion. The Binos are five points clear at the top with a plus 14 goal difference yet can be backed at odds against at home to Stenhousemuir.

“The visitors lost 2-0 away to Elgin last weekend and I would expect something similar from Stirling on Saturday.

“At the start of the season the League Two top scorer market was dominated by David Goodwillie and Rory McAllister but after 10 games Stirling’s Darren Smith is evens favourite and has 10 goals in nine games.

“Smith is 4-1 with McBookie to get his 11th with the first goal of the game.

“Can you find a winner!”
