STATS don't always guarantee winners but when I looked at the card one game stood out.
Dunfermline and Inverness have already met four times this season and on each occasion both teams have scored.
The duo may be struggling at the wrong end of the SPL but keeping goals out rather than scoring them is the main concern.
There have been three score draws – 3-3, 1-1 and 1-1 – while Inverness won their other meeting 3-1.
The 3-3 and 3-1 were both at East End Park so everything points to another high scorer. Inverness have failed to net in their last three but two were against Celtic and in fact their last away win was at Dunfermline.
In four of their last five Dunfermline have scored so start your line with this one.
Next up it's Livingston v Raith Rovers. Livi's last four have featured both teams scoring while two teams have netted in five of Rovers' last six. And it was 1-1 when they clashed at Almondvale earlier in the season.
Every team in the Second Division netted last weekend and in midweek only Albion Rovers failed to trouble the scorers. I'm hoping the trend continues this weekend with Airdrie v Stenhousemuir.
It was 5-2 Airdrie when they met at New Broomfield last October and there have been 22 goals in the Diamonds' last five encounters. Stenny's last five have totalled just 20 so it looks primed for goals galore even if the visitors have some injury problems.
I'm going down to Division Three for my final two selections. First up it's Berwick v Annan where three of the last five match-ups have ended 2-2. Another was 3-2 so only once in five has a team failed to score.
Berwick have also played out three 2-2s in their last five matches. Annan last three games have been score draws – one of them 2-2 – so it should have goals and could even end 2-2.
Finally, complete the accumulator with Montrose v Peterhead. The two meetings this season have featured eight goals, 2-1 and 3-2 wins for Montrose, and both have been involved in plenty of high scorers recently.
Montrose lost 5-0 at Queen's Park last ween and in midweek Stranraer were thumped 6-1 at Elgin so defences are unlikely to be on top.
