THERE was no soaring success for I Can Fly on Friday so it was 2pts lost and I'm now even for October.
Congrats to all who landed a winner and here are my Saturday tips with write-ups added.
Newmarket 2.25
Purser is a horse I have backed for next year's 2000 Guineas. Everything about him screams class and I still think Purser was unlucky two runs ago, short of room and not asked to do too much after his chance had gone. He was in with some decent horses last time but with nothing of the class of Purser which was evident with his nine-length win.
That run was only nine days ago but shouldn't be a problem as he was never really in a race. Ryan Moore was impressed with this horse after his debut and he can start proving to others now he is a serious contender for next season.
Newmarket 3.0
Seahenge isn't connections first choice and also has an odds-on favourite to contend with. I have said a few times I haven't been as impressed as others were about Expert Eyes Goodwood win. Yes, he won well, yes, he beat Seahenge by eight lengths and was over four lengths ahead of the second horse but I see a horse that is good, that could easily win again today but did have everything go his way last time.
Seahenge didn't have much go his way, he could still be behind Expert Eye here but long term I see Seahenge being better. But saying that the 16-1 available for today is far too big for this horse, he has shown signs of what he has and still has a lot of improvement in him. Seahenge won a Group Two last time at Doncaster and was better than the margin of victory suggests. I liked the way he picked up and how strong he was at the finish and my view is he could win this but I can't see him out the first three.

Not a bad oul day has probably been the most progressive horse this campaign rising 41lbs having won 7 times since April and rightly heads the market but im hoping a 10lb swing in the weights for a 1 1/2L defeat can tip the balance in TP’s favour. He’s also the only C&D winner in the race and trainer has a 38% (3-8) strike rate with 4+ yr olds. The horse is also 1-1 at the track and wont mind the heavy going and looks a decent ew shout at least.

Purser has about as much chance of winning the guineas as Hibs have off winning the SPL NO chance.
That was a mile today and it wasn’t fast enough already needs further doubtful it will run at a mile as a 3 year old.
