NO joy on Sunday with two second places as good as it got to leave me 8.5pts down for October.

Conrgrats to all who fared better by landing a winner and my Monday tips are here, with a write-up to follow.

Pontefract 2:55

The Grape Escape won last time out when not getting a clear run, he had to wait but when in the clear he quickened well. That was a good win against horses like Sharja Bridge and Almoreb, he doesn't face anything like those horses here and although giving away a lot of weight he clearly has more improvement in him.

Kempton 7:25

Golden Birthday is another horse that has successfully changed codes with his win at Leicester. I was a bit worried about the testing conditions that day but he proved he can act on any going and should also be able to handle the polytrack. Golden Birthday is lowly handicapped on his hurdles rating and should be up to winning again against better horses here.

    Happy birthday JohnB ?

the grape escape only lost by a neck in the class 2 esher cup in april coming 3rd to atty perse, and was giving the 1st 2 weight.
any repeat of that should suffice here, especially if the going is good, which has been his best surface in his career so far.
had 3 months off after june and won on return recently as john says recently so an autumn campaign looks like it was planned.

      Get in !

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

Sorry dabs, didn’t realise you were not allowed to back the same horse as someone else.
I will seek your permission to do this unspeakable act in future.
Please accept my apologies dabs, I promise I won’t help the thread with information in future if it upsets you.

      PS ,
You have a lot of icons in use I see, you seem like the type of chap that looks at pictures in the papers and doesn’t read the text due to an apparent lack of basic intelligence.
And don’t bother trolling me either like you do with bus stop and danc.
been here for years and seen plenty of your ilk come and go.
And yes I’m an idiot for bothering to reply to you but that’s life !!
      ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    3.55P- Trinity Star EW@ 12/1 bet365.
Looks well over priced when you consider it won this race off 75 2 yrs ago and is now down to 63. Had a good 4th here last time out and now as a good draw and decent claimer on board. Price won’t last long as it is 8/1 at William Hills.

1.55P- Austrian School@2/1 Should appreciate today’s step up in trip on pedigree. Looks sure to go well.

I think the market has this race right, with 3 > 7 > 5 . The fav at 5s I think is still good value, despite the 9lb rise and having had a perfect ride lto, I see no reason to abandon him. PIONEERING 5/1.

    • dabs 6 years ago

      On it database?

    • gazh 6 years ago

I remember hearing a stat on Racing Uk, that stalls 1-3 over 1mile at Ponty had won over 75% of races(that was last season) not sure about this season but with that in mind I think Pioneering is the worthy Fav. I think Trinity Star can nick a place at least from stall4 though and hopefully win!! Good Luck
