I'M reluctant to put up too many tips tonight with the card dominated by Johnstone Paint Trophy matches.

These matches are always tough to predict but we also have some Blue Square games to look at.

So advising caution I'm having a look at a couple of League One sides at League Two opponents. Preston let me down at Oldham at the weekend but Graham Westley's men should be too strong at Morecambe who have won just once in their last six. You can have Preston at 5-4 with William Hill.

Coventry have taken a while to get going after dropping out of the Championship but have won two out of three under new boss Mark Robins. The likes of David McGoldrick and Stephen Elliott should be too strong for League Two York. The Sky Blues are 6-4 with the likes of William Hill and BetVictor.

You could try singles or doubles on Preston and Coventry or be braver and take on this perm. It's highly speculative but could bring a big reward but keep stakes small.

So to Preston and Coventry add Dagenham at a Southend side with form and injury problems, Colchester at off-form Northampton and back-on-track Portsmouth at home to Wycombe.

If you perm and 3, 4 and all 5 for 1pt stakes (10, trebles, five fourfolds, one fivefold) a treble is likely to at least cover stakes, four would be tremendous and five a sensation.

The Blue Square Premier should provide more reliable results and it's difficult to see leaders Newport, 1-2 at BetVictor, slipping up at home to lowly Ebbsfleet.

Dartford have won five out of six at home and I like the look of them against Telford. They are 4-5 with William Hill, BetVictor and others.

Complete a treble with Luton at home to Braintree. The Hatters have recovered from a poor start to win three in a row while Braintree have gone six without a victory. Luton are 2-5 at William Hill and BetVictor.

Betting on goals could the best advice tonight and I'm hoping to break a run of four out of five with a full house on both teams to score.

I might as well start with Brentford v Crawley which was 2-1 to the home side when they met at the same venue last Saturday.

Next try a Rochdale side who are unbeaten in six, with five seeing both scoring, at home to Bury who drew 2-2 at Stevenage on their last road trip.

Next take Walsall at home to League Two title chasers Port Vale. This will be a good test of Vale's credentials after four successive away wins. They are flying just now but Walsall are no slouches so it should be entertaining with a few goals.

Complete the line with two from the Blue Square Premier, Nuneaton v Hereford and Barrow v Southport. Both sides' games have produced plenty of goals recently with both teams scoring in five out of six. Nuneaton have conceded two a game at home so Hereford will expect to net once at least.

Barrow have let in an average of more than two a game at home so Southport should be looking to go on the attack but a clean sheet is unlikely.

The conference is the place to be for goals, I often do 6/7 teams over 2.5 goals! I’ll
Be honest, im over 2.5 goals daft – that’s the majority of the bets I put on!

  3. john 12 years ago

Was looking at Woking v Cambridge, i know that woking let the line down at the weekend but they have scored 12 goals in their home games so far this season…and conceded 12 too so maybe worth looking at

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

John, I really only left Woking because as you say they let me down at the weekend.

    • john 12 years ago

Woking at home are a much safer bet, that’s why i went with them last night but saying that i thought Nuneaton at home would be a safe bet too but again it’s proof of how nothing is a certainty

  4. Darren G 12 years ago

Mr fixit, dagenham are 16/5 on my hills coupon, seems a huge over price considering form / selection problems that you’ve picked up on and price is bigger than the one quoted.
I also like Rochdale home to bury who have accrued only 4 points all season in league above, 13/10 seems fair, Cheltenham too.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Darren, on paper not much between Southend and Dagenham but Paul Sturrock’s side have a few injuries so I’m taking a chance on the Daggers at a big price. Rochdale started to go well but defensively still a bit of worry while Oxford are a dogged side so that’s tough to call.

  5. woody 12 years ago

Mr Fixit… I understand perm betting, but lets say i have £20 to bet on 5 games btts , what would be the most rewarding way to spread the bet ?

    Fourfold – 5 bets @ £2.50 = £12.50

    accy – 1 bet @ £7.50

    Total £20.00

    Or would you advise differently

    Thank you

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Woody, it’s really up the individual. Are you looking long term and trying to make a profit overall or are you trying to land big wins. If it’s the former I’d weight it in favour ofthe fourfolds in case one was wrong. If it’s the latter then maybe perming isn’t for you. You might want to do the straight £20 fivefold.

  6. Tony 12 years ago

Done all bets as usual Paul.
Gone for the straight acca on the bts tho, cos your well due one in mate and I ran out of £ !!!!
    Good luck.

  7. Tony 12 years ago

@Woody, that’s exactly wot I do wen I perm them m8, same stakes too.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Danny, good heads up if it comes in.

  9. john.t 12 years ago

I can’t bet on tonight games

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Johnt, that’s probably the best comment you’ve ever made. If I wasn’t in this business I’d either put a couple of pounds on just for interest or not have a bet at all. Meant to say by the way remember some of these games kick off at a bit earlier than 7.45pm.

  10. craig alves 12 years ago

av gave in and stuck a few 50p lines on tonight, cannae walk past bookies these days.
went for your acca and treble in 1 line, 8 draws in another 15 team btts acca. after seein tgat guy win £60k got to go for it haha

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Craig, that was some line by the boy – eight draws plus four homes. Pretty amazing but something no proper punter would even attempt. Having said that you’ve just done it.

  11. Clarks 12 years ago

Avid follower of the tips Mr fixit a big thank you to you and all the others who chip in as well. Wouldn’t class myself as a newbie and I may be missing something glaringly obvious but what does pt mean when you say 16 x 1 pt bets??

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Clarks, 16 x 1pt is simply a way of saying keep the stakes low. On a scale of 1-10 I’m grading the likelihood of the fivefold coming up as a 1. Some people relate points to stakes so 1pt would be £1 and 10pts £10.

    • Mystic Clegg 12 years ago

Yeah, I’d like to know that too!

  12. Clarks 12 years ago

Thanks for that!! Last question how do I lay that bet with William hill online?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Clarks, it would be difficult to lay a perm if that’s whay you’re asking. If you’re asking how to place it then simply picked your selections and tick the boxes marked fivefold, sixfold and accumulator and put in your stakes.

  13. Clarks 12 years ago

Yeah lazy man’s betting I can’t get to the bookies so do most if not all betting on the William hill app. So perms are very difficult just wondered if I could cover the 5 fold with a particular option like a Yankee or Canadian or such like!

Thanks again and good luck for tonight!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Clarks, you can do any perm you like but with the set ones you are covering doubles, trebles etc. It’s very easy to do perms online (and in shops) by just clicking or ticking a box.

  14. Clarks 12 years ago

Ok thanks must be the mobile app then as there are no options for any 4 fold etc!!

  15. Doogie 12 years ago

Ur on form tonight ur treble is t1ts up and it’s no even half time, brilliant

  16. Mike 12 years ago

Looks like the treble has gone out the window! Luton 2 down with 10 men, and dartford 2 down! Wish I never had a bet! Stupid non league!

  17. Mister Mr 12 years ago

I am very surprised Dartford are struggling tonight. That means they’ll probably win comfortably at the weekend. Football is too unpredictable for me to bet. Disappointing

  18. Doogie 12 years ago

Mr fixit who is Dartfords star player ??

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Doogie, what’s wrong with you? A shock defeat for Dartford is what happened tonight. Look at the odds, the table, the stats, the form guide. It all pointed to a Dartford win but football isn’t always predictable so deal with it.

  19. Ramil 12 years ago

    Learn to lose, gentlemen !!!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Ramil, well said. I warned people about betting on the Johnstone Paint Trophy and the Blue Square form book went out of the window. Just one of those nights and one idiot on having a moan. Maybe he should direct his anger at the Dartford players who under-performed tonight.

    • Ramil 12 years ago

Paul, a football field is flat and the ball is round. 100% no one can know who will win. Do not get discouraged, keep up the good work. Thanks for your prediction!

  20. Doogie 12 years ago

Jamil – tihis is the best way to learn, am an expert after following this

  21. Doogie 12 years ago

    Sorry Ramil*

  22. Ramil 12 years ago

I’ll bet on Paul’s predictions. But keep quiet when they lose. Sorry for my English, I do not know English. This translator) I hope you understand me

  23. billy 12 years ago

nobody seems to be mentioning your two main selections came up tonite.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Billy, thanks. You’re right my two main selections did come up but sometimes you have to get every bet right to keep some people happy.

  24. john.t 12 years ago

If you can’t take a loss pal my advice is don’t bet, if mr fix won every bet he would be a genius, you have good days and bad days it’s life. By the end of the season by following mr fix tips am sure you will be in profit. Like i said don’t bet if it makes you angry.

  25. john.t 12 years ago

That telford have messed it up for us two bets in a row now mrfix, we’ll have to follow them on Saturday, what you think lol

  26. Doogie 12 years ago

Mr fixit – An idiot ?? John can take a loss no problem. What I do struggle to understand is an expert advising a treble and getting one correct at 4/11 and 2 out of 5 in his other selections. Can you not take critisisim ??

    • Ramil 12 years ago

      Let’s test your predictions :)

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Doogie, people here know I can take criticism but make it fair. Don’t ask stupid questions like “Who is Dartford’s best player?” I’ve said it before it’s a free site and if you don’t like it don’t visit.

  27. cheryl fowler 12 years ago

I wouldnt say Dartford losing wa a shock. Its been coming.

They have been getting battered in recent games but luckilly coming away with all 3pts. Was just a matter of time before they got turned over and Tamowrth were a great price tonight who were inform themselves.

taking odds on in bl sq prem is shocking

  28. Mister Mr 12 years ago

I am going to bet against Telford next game. 3 wins in a row? I am hoping not

  29. Doogie 12 years ago

Mister mr sounds like a plan law of averages and all that – mr fixit could try it instead of his blind fold and pin…

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Doogie, I picked up a Racing and Football Outlook a couple of hours ago. Just noticed this one par at the end of Figaro’s tips: “In-form Blue Square Bet Premier League side Dartford look the best midweek banker at home to Telford and they can follow up with a win at Barrow on Saturday.” I hope you have his email address.

  30. john.t 12 years ago

Doogie do you think he should get every one right, ? Could anyone predicted them all right, if so let me know who they are and ill follow them instead (*¯︶¯*)

  31. Doogie 12 years ago

John t can u please show me where I have said he should get every one correct ?? I never said that once what I pointed to was 1/3 and 2/5. Do u think that’s a good return from an expert tipster ?

  32. john.t 12 years ago

It’s a bad night yes i admit, but that’s all it is, hes done well with the trebles in the last few days, if you look back you’ll see for your self.

  33. Doogie 12 years ago

John t that’s the point I was making nothing more, then the expert calls me an idiot, a bit touchy maybe he shouldn’t bet if he gets angry eh

  34. john.t 12 years ago

No not having that , there is making a point and then there is taking the piss you was taking the piss, sorry.

  35. Doogie 12 years ago

How am I taking the piss ?? Pointing out facts. There is a difference.

    • Ramil 12 years ago

you lost your house or car?

  36. john.t 12 years ago

anyway its bed time doogie. Good look with your future bets. ﹋o﹋

  37. Mr Chris Guy 12 years ago

Doogie you only lost £2. You’re a bad loser. Don’t bet with money you can’t afford then you won’t get so angry when it loses. Simples.

  38. Tony 12 years ago

Unlucky Paul, we were warned and we all knew it was gonna be a tough coupon tonight.
“So advising caution…..”, the man said which I did. And all the regulars would of. “Only bet what you can afford” he also says.
Plain and simple. Can you imagine how many hours it takes studying for this site? Not only football, but golf, boxing, tennis. He knows his stuff and gives it for free. It’s a forum now lads, he probably got this biggest following for a FREE TIPSTER in the UK (whos won me PLENTY over the last couple of years.). Anyone want to mention anyone else they use?, come on lads can anyone name a better FREE tipster than Mr Fixit ? If you can tell us !
I can’t , and I know all the regulars will agree.
Already looking forward to the next tips.

  39. Clarks 12 years ago

Was a tough and be fair we were well warned!! I’m still sitting pretty after mr fixit’s glorious Tuesday a fortnight ago!! After input from this site I got a four fold and treble up this weekend can’t believe the neck on some people complaining about free tips!! No one forces anyone to take them! Keep up the good work I look forward to the recommendations for the upcoming internationals!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Clarks, the success rate on the trebles have been good recently. But sometimes they won’t win and people have to expect that from every tipster. It’s simply not possible and the guy Doogie should accept that rather than make snides comments about the tips.

  40. craig alves 12 years ago

shocking paul…should do better haha, av lost £1.50 the night an am still gutted. win some lose some, shite card the night but give warnin signs in capital letters on sat cos internationals are prob worse than the nights games

  41. Dave 12 years ago

Had a nice little win last night.I put on 3 treble bets with Preston and coventry to win on each bet and woking to win on first bet, draw on second, lose on third.10 quid each bet.won 110 quid.so i’ve put 50 quid double for fri on italy to win at armenia and germany to score 2 against the rep of ireland which will return 105 quid.any thoughts for fri?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Dave, there will be usual tips up here on Friday and Saturday then I’m off on holiday for two weeks. I was going to say it will be heaven but rememberd the missus is coming too.

  42. Albo A 12 years ago

Nice little £10 treble in last night
    Doncaster
    Plymouth
    Coventry
    @9-1

  43. Striker 12 years ago

Put a £50 on the Preston/Coventry double, £30 on the treble and £20 on the BTTS five fold. Got my stake back and still £160 up on a quiet games night.

You gave your reasoning on your picks and I took it on board and gambled the ratios accordingly.

Cheers, keep it up Mr. Fixit

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Striker, that’s the best tactics. People should be aware of the perils of betting on Johnstone Paint Trophy games and non-league games – and in general. If every tipster put up winning tips every day bookies wouldn’t exist. I’ve always said “I win some and lose some”. I think before last night my top treble had come in 5 out of 7 but didn’t see any praise from Doogie. In hindsight I should have left my tips to Preston and Coventry and the btts lines (which is a fairly random bet anyway) but I’m trying to put up a decent service. You can bet there won’t be Johnstone Paint tips up here again this season.

  44. Danny 12 years ago

if you get some spare time before you go anychance of stickin up a post tips tull am back or something like that

next to nothing the day possible 5fold

    kallithea
    ergotelis
    mtk budapest
    vasas
    diosgyori

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Danny, I’ll be putting up Friday and Saturday tips before I go then there will be a minimal service on the site for two weeks.

  45. john.t 12 years ago

This is what i mean, the the btts bets, i asked you last wk if you put any work into them and or are they just a side bet, and you said you put a lot of work in to them, but now your saying they are just random, not having a go people so don’t start, i just want to know.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Johnt, you have got completely the wrong end of the stick. If you visit the site regularly you will see reasoning is given for virtually all the both teams to score bets. When I say “random” I don’t mean they are picked randomly. What I mean, and i’ve said it often enough, is that games that feature both teams to score come up more randomly, that is, any game could produce. You have to stop accusing me of changing my mind, etc, just because you are reading it wrongly. If you’re not sure ask a question.

  46. Danny 12 years ago

johnt if you dont like the both to score it isnt hard to come up with your own one for example the first game on my line will be northampton-exeter reason being
northampton at home have scored in the last 4 exter away have scored in the last 5 although doing this i would imagine you will probably come up with same games as mr fixit 9times out of 10 or if you cant be bothered like me sometimes i just do that mob are shite but theyl score at home against that mob who are good but dodgy away from home from exmaple 2nd game on my line colchester-stevenage

    • Ramil 12 years ago

      Danny,
      kallithea
      ergotelis
      mtk budapest
      vasas
      diosgyori

      this both to score tips?

    • Danny 12 years ago

Ramil hope you didnt stick that 5 fold on

  47. Danny 12 years ago

    no just to win

    • Ramil 12 years ago

      5 bets
      Each bid for $ 100 = 500$
      Win – 3 bets (kallithea @ 1.65, ergotelis @ 1.73, diosgyori @ 1.77)= 215$
      Lose – 2 bets = 200$
      Net profit = 15$

      Thank you Danny !!! :)

    • Danny 12 years ago

a suppose a wins a win Ramil but spending 5 tun your hoping for bigger winnings

  48. john.t 12 years ago

Think il just follow his top treble, as more work nd thought seems to go into it.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Johnt, again there is thought and work put into all bets. Don’t judge me on the Johnstone Paint article as from the off I said I wasn’t comfortable putting those tips up. You don’t know how much time I spend on each tip so don’t try to guess.

  49. john 12 years ago

Anyone think we can beat the Germans on Friday?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

John, I can’t see it. It would take a phenomenal performance.

  50. cheryl fowler 12 years ago

If you put in the time and effort then you can make betting seriously pay. It is isnt just going to fall into your lap.

You would be hard pushed to find anyone who does more studying than I.

Every single monday morning I read every single match report from every single club website to give me an insight into into how each and every football went.

By 9.30am this morning I had already 22 match reports from last nights BL SQ premiership (I read both teams match report to get both sides) and inputted all the match stats into spreadsheets

The big mistake alot of people make is only looking at the FT result and dont actually know how that team played. You can play awful and win, play superb and lose, thats football.

Gillingham beat Southend 1-0 despite only having 1 shot on target in 90 mins. It happens alot but it pays to know which teams are playing really well, creating chances but not getting results as it is only a matter of time before they do get a result and they will be a great price due to recent results.

  51. john.t 12 years ago

Its you that’s getting the wrong end of the stick, as i said am not trying to be clever or not having a go, i actually backed u up yesterday when doogie was having a go. I am just trying to work this bettin site out that’s all, don’t jump to conclusion that i am another doogie cos am not like him. Thanks

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Johnt, just pointing out that some of your claims are not true. I’m not saying you are another Doogie but have a good look back at the articles then tell me if you think selections are made at random.

  52. cheryl fowler 12 years ago

Teams who create alot of chances but get are getting poor results dont need to worry as things will turn. it is teams who dont create chances that need to worry.

Like Wycombe & Barnet for example who are after 10 & 11 games have just 29 shots on target each with 38 & 39 off target.

That is a total attempts on goal of 67 and 68 now look at the elagues top chances creaters Bradford who have 73 ON TARGET alone! Bradfords shots on target is more than Wycombes & Barnets total shots.

Bradford also have 70 attempts off target so they have had 143 attempts on goal in 11 games compared to Wycombes 67 and Barnets 69.

I just come to this site for a browse really. I dont follow anything here as the odds are all way too low for my liking. I wouldn’t touch 1/6, 1/3, 1/4 and other long odds on shots with free money nevermind my own

I stick to odds against and find the value. trebles paying just over evens or 2/1 is comedy really. All my singles are over evens so needing 3 selections to make evens is a no go for me but each to there own

Studying all day and then coming up with 1/4 & 1/3 shots to win a football match is abit of a piss take to be honest. You could take less than 5 mins a day and get the same bets

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Cheryl, I rarely put up teams priced ay 1-6, 1-4 or 1-3 so I don’t where you are getting that from. The top treble is a bet I put up where I pick three sides I expect to win 9 times out of 10 so odds aren’t huge but usually bigger than 1-2 for most teams. The Super Single is always evens or above and i put up a variety of other bets where i try to find value.
At the end of the day it’s winning that matters whatever the price but if you think all I do is stick up 1-4 and 1-3s you’re reading the wrong site.

  53. cheryl fowler 12 years ago

Last night I had 14 bets between odds of 2.00 & 4.50 and won 11 of them

Was also just one goal away from a 600/1 accumulator

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Cheryl, anyone to be honest can make claims after games are played. You should put up your selections before kick-offs.

  54. Ian Thomson 12 years ago

Hi Paul can you tell me what happened to the 4 draws you used to put up on a Saturday in paper and online.
7 of us used to put £2 each on it before we went to game used to have a laugh over a pint cursing you when it bombed or saying you we’re a class act if 1 beat us for the 4.
Had a few up as well and we said if you walked in the door you sure as hell wouldn’t have managed to walk out. ( cause of the drink)
Can’t for the life off me believe the punters that are getting worked up cause you never picked a winning line I think they might have a wee gambling problem.
If you can’t take a loss CHUCK IT.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Ian, believe it or not I got some stick when four draws didn’t come up for a few weeks and they usually pay about 125-1. I always saw it as a bit of fun bet, quite speculative, but sometimes profitable. I remember a couple of seasons back when I tipped four out of four draws two weeks running and never bought a drink for months. I picked 3 out of 4 quite often but punters always expect more. However, when I return from holiday I’m going to rejig the Record pages a little and I’ll include four draws again because you’re not the first to ask.

  55. Ramil 12 years ago

Doogie farted yesterday and still stinks :)

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

@ Mr Fixit, I wasnt having a go at you. If what you do works for you then gl but those prices are not for me. I wouldn’t waste my time looking for odds on shots when I can find plenty of odds against bets just as easy.

I have posted my bets here in the past and all have won.

    My first post a fortnight ago I tipped a 9/1 winning treble and in the Europa League I posted 3 bets @ 3.25, 3.75 & 4.50 and 2 out of 3 won.

(Udinese & Fenerbache to score 2+ goals)

Sports betting in my only income so I have to know what I am doing and I study hard to make my living. 20+ hrs a week goes into reading 100s of match reports. numerous hrs goes into inputting match stats into spread sheets along with other stuff that needs doing.

At least 6hrs a day, 7 days a week without fail I put into my “homework” and each month I see the rewards

Cheryl, I was just pointing I don’t do 1-6, 1-4 tips etc. In fact, I go out of my way to avoid them. You’ll never see my putting up for example Man City to beat Sunderland or Celtic to beat Dundee. I’d look at HT/FT or handicaps. I can take all the criticism in the world but I like people to get their facts right. You should do well spending that amount time studying the form. Unfortunately every day I’m writing articles as well as doing the research and don’t have six hours spare.

Dimil sorry Ramil I think ur nose is to near ur own ar*e, as for everyone else having a go because I have the nerve to question a expert tipsters treble at 4/11 4/11 and 8/11 which only one won (1-0) I look forward to seeing this weeks tips to which he’s back on winning form.

Doogie, as I aid Tuesday wasn’t a great night for betting and they’re not the usual prices.

cheryl, no matter how much studying anyone can make its how you perform on the day that counts.
i base that on the fact that having competed in my own sport for 29 years even if ive trained specially for an event its down to doing the bizz on the day, and believe ive had some highs and lows over the years and many a time ive threw the baby out with the bath water but loved every single momen. its okay reading match reports but not every person on that report will put in the same performance the next time they take to the field.
anyroads good on you in taking the time to study

I want cheryl to prove how god his or hers tips are by putting his tips on here this wk end, are you up for that?

Looking at the England game just now……. England 2 lead by 20 mins 8/15 looks good, even as part of an accer. 8/5 2 b leading by 10 mins.

England and Holland both 2 b leading by 20 mins coming in at roughly 3/2 with Paddy. Wots ur thoughts on that Paul? That looks tremendous 2 me
