The Grand Prix starts on Sunday with the unique format of a double in, double out. It is always a terffic tournament in Dublin.
Regulars will know i am a MVG guy and he is my tip to retain his title. He opens against a young player i put up for some success in the Matchplay and that is Keegan Brown. I tipped him to beat Robert Thornton and he pushed Dave Chisnall all the way in the last 16, losing in a thriller 13-11. MVG knows he will have to be on top of his game over such a short format. He produced some great darts in Blackpool, his lowest average was 99.19. Huybrechts or Van de pas await in the second round, Kim in particular would be tough, then another youngster in the Quarter Finals, “Bully Boy” Michael Smith, who really needs to start going deep into tournaments. All these players like to get on with it and the pace and flow of the games will suit MVG and i think he can at least make another final, whoever he plays, he will start as favourite so cover will be available. MVG to win is 5/2 Bwin
For a long value each way shot you have to look at the bottom half and Phil Taylor is the obvious big fish, however despite him dominating on the tour events in Australia and Canada, I like the chances of the machine James Wade. He was a runner up last year. Wade as got stronger as the year as gone on, he made it all the way to the final of the Matchplay which is another tournament he loves and he has won the Grand Prix on two occasions. Wade biggest strength is his doubling which is crucial here. He as started to find some scoring power too, and while not a formidable 180 scorer he hits a lot more 140s than he used to and that gives him a great chance at Dublin. I am taking him at 16/1 E/W various and to win Quarter 4 ahead of Taylor at 7/2 Bet365. It looks like it will be a Quarter final match with Taylor, and Wade wont be 7/2 for that match.
In Quarter 3 it is Gary Anderson’s to lose, on paper at least. He opens against John Henderson who he should beat fairly comfortably. He would then play Ian White or Jamie Caven. He as a 7-3 H2H over White and a 13-5 H2H over Caven. It would then be probably Robert Thornton or Justin Pipe and again Anderson owns good records over them although they are close. He leads Thornton 13-11 and Pipe 10-6. Anderson has improved on his doubles over the past two years and if he gets away with his first 3 darts his scoring power will come to the fore and put pressure on his opponents. If you didnt see the coverage of the PDC tour down under, then the last time you saw Anderson on the big stage he was getting dumped out the Matchplay by Mensur Suljovic. He will have learned from that and will be looking to bounce back as we head towards the Worlds. Anderson is a former semi finalist in 2014, and i think he can take advantage of a kind draw to make it again. He is 1/1 various to make it to the semis again.
My final selection is for a 9 darter to be hit. We didnt see it in the Matchplay but several players went close. The format of this tournament makes it more difficult, however last year James Wade and Robert Thornton but hit 9 darters in the same match! Brendan Dolan has also hit a 9 darter in Dublin, and for small stakes this bet gives you a run for your money in every leg played in this tournament. It is 9/2 William Hill.

NFL Sunday Money line Treble
I stated pre-season that it is best to wait a couple of weeks before putting up accas on the NFL. We need to see some form and I said that normally in the first couple of weeks, we get injuries to key players, and this season is no different. Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, Jordy Nelson, Terrell Suggs, Arian Foster, Julius Thomas and Drew Brees etc, are just a few of the star names, there are many more on defence that are just as key.
Last week I landed a 13/10 fourfold, and I am taking a ML treble this week, with teams I think should win starting with the third highest offence in the league the Atlanta Falcons facing Houston. Yes they have JJ but outside that their offence is struggling to put up more than 20pts. In the Georgia Dome, the real JJ in this match isn’t Watt, its Jones. Matty Ice gets the job done.
Cincinnati are my second choice facing Kansas. The Chiefs finally scored a passing touchdown last week, but Rodgers took their secondary apart, a short turn around and another road game against Andy Dalton who has thrown 8tds in 3 games so far this season isn’t ideal. I side with the Bengals.
To complete the treble is the San Diego Chargers. They host the Cleveland Browns. I pointed out couple of years ago on the main thread an away game in the NFL, isn’t like the Premier league, this isn’t hoping on the coach for a 30min drive up the M1, you can go coast to coast, through different time zones. I think that is one reason I can see the Chargers winning tonight. WR Keenan Allen is playing well and with the likes of Phillip Rivers, Melvin Gordon and Danny Woodhead, I can see them putting up enough points to win the game, as I think they can stuff the run up the middle.

I said above I took these Tuesday with the news of Colts turnover machine Andrew Luck nursing a shoulder injury and all week the markets have been suspended, and it won’t be sometime until game time before we know if he will start. I’ll admit I have no clue how back up QB Matt Hasselbeck will perform if he gets the nod over Luck. But there are a few upsides if he does. 1. Surely he can’t turn the ball over as much as Luck has over the first 3 games? 2. He has an extensive career in the NFL with over 200 games under his name which involves playoffs and a Super Bowl appearance. Finally at 3. He could be coming up against the Broncos, but he isn’t, and luckily its the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road who have one of the worst road record in recent years, were blown out in New England last weekend, and have a lot of injuries on offense and defense. A downside? He’s 40 so probably doesn’t have the arm to send it deep down the field, or the legs to scramble from the oncoming pass rush. The Colts offensive line has been awful so far this season but still have one some of the best depth at the skill positions in the NFL. I think if Luck doesn’t start they’ll have the game plan to take it to the Jags which will be similar to what we’ve seen from the Broncos and Peyton Manning, with a heavy dose of Frank Gore.
You can’t take these picks now as markets are still suspended at 365 but if you check tomorrow and the spread is anything under -7.5 for the Colts then you’ll know Luck won’t be starting and you can take these picks at your own risk. But me being me got on early and now its too late. I still think with the weapons they have they can get the job done, and at the end of the day it’s only by a field goal. A big division game with the Titans on a bye and a tough game for Houston in Atlanta, the Colts could really do with the W which could be a big part of whether they’ll be playing in January.

I too think the Chargers will have enough to beat the woeful Browns but it won’t be as easy as it should be. The Oline mess continues in San Diego where we will be starting three new offensive linemen from the starters last week, two of which might be from the practice squad. So although Gordon has looked better with each week, the running lanes might not be there for him against a decent front 7 of the Browns. I expect a lot of quick, short passing slants and crossing routes from Rivers to get the ball out quickly so PR isn’t near killed like he was last week. If this all happens then Keenan Allen will again be a big target and could go over 100 yards for the third time in 4 games. San Diego really need to get him and Stevie Johnson the ball in space to win the game.

Anyone got a tip for the early Jets/Dolphins game? It’s the only game I can watch due to time difference in Oz.
It’s a difficult one to call, not least because it’s on neutral ground in a country thousands of miles away from home and playing at a time their bodies just aren’t used to. No doubt the Jets have made a strong start whilst the Dolphins have been disappointing after an off season spending spree. Unfortunately for them Suh has been a non-factor so far and I fancy the Jets on the h/c but in all honesty I’m steering clear money wise.
As a fun bet I would try Marshall anytime and Jets win by 7-12 @6/1 but that would be very small stakes
Total touchdown at 4.5 (10/11 @ 365) in the Jets Dolphins game, the under is something that stands out to me.
Jets will stick to what they have always done, ground and pound so Fitzpatrick don’t have to throw too much. Firstly, this is gonna take time of the clock, but also, I am not sure they will have too much success against a very good defense on paper, albeit, they haven’t really performed at the level they were expected to.
Tannehill has looked good so far this season, but I am not sure how he will cope with Jets defense who has definitely been one of the better defenses in the NFL this season in my opinion. With Revis taking away one side of the field, and Todd Bowles creative blitzes, I think Tannehill will be forced out the pocket on many occasions, and if the Jets CBs can keep with the Dolphins WR, this could help keep the total TDs down.
Morning guys, got training in an hour’s time, so I haven’t got the amount of time that I wish to have to study the games that are on today. Gonna try something almost Ryan Allen esque but without the long reasoning… Hopefully this will get some positive responses though.

Big b it’s a tough one , there’s a lot of players probable on the colts wich is why it’s a tight spread and was only -7 when luck was meant to be playing , the same fixture last year had the colts -14.5 and they also meant to have a stronger side than they did last year, hasslebeck is more than capable I’ve seen enough of him but mentioned it yesterday to Jordan im not to sure where he is at as I haven’t seen him throw a ball for a couple years. The colts secondary is the biggest worry if davis is out then I would be very reluctant as bortles can throw the bombs. The colts would have known all week that luck would not have been playing so they would be ready , maybe a simple short game from hasselbeck may actually help the colts though , luck has been erratic with some of the plays he has made this season and I don’t think he’s been healthy since the start of the season tbh. As I said its tough to call and if I had to pick I would go Colts but I would keep a close eye on who is out or who is playing leading up to the game
If gore gets going though the colts could run away with it , the jags defence is quite bad and if hasselbeck gets any sort of offense going the jags will struggle playing catch up. I think frank gore might be the key to the result

Now Peyton isn’t the youngest of QB in this league but this line is low. Coming of a dodgy start at home to the Ravens this O line has improved. Peyton threw for 256 and 324 at both Chiefs and Lions to bring Denver to 3-0 for the season. It’s taken a few weeks but this new looking O line are looking stronger and stronger and especially with home field advantage at mile high.
The Vikings on the other hand averagely give up 243 passing yards per game. Matthew Stafford and Philip Rivers both passed this target in the last 2 weeks and the only person stopped is Colin Kappernick (no real surprise there after his efforts last week).
This bet is helped even more so by Ronnie Hilman and CJ Anderson in capability to get the run game going with neither passing 41 yards in the first 3 games.

Starting the season at number 2 to Andre Ellington, this guy has grabbed his chance and with Ellington inactive once again today Johnson yards are very low. He had 20 and 22 carries in the past 2 weeks and rushing for 72 and 110 in these games @ Bears and v 49ers. He averages 4.2 yards per carry and through the first 3 games totalling 219 yards from 52 carries.
The Rams are not the strongest against the run and averagly give up 122.7 rush yards per game this season. Lynch(Sea), Jones(Was), Morris(Was) and Bell(Pit) have all passed 50 yards in these games.

Kap is under pressure atm but one thing you can’t take away from him is ability to run the ball. He has rushed for 140 yards in his opening 3 games and is up against a packers defence wich has been poor in stoping mobile QBs. It seems to be a big weakness on this Packers defence , I watched Russel Wilson rush for 80 yards against the pack and even Alex smith and Jay Cutler had success on the run wich is not said very often. I expect to see him moving a lot as he has been struggling throwing the ball maybe even get a TD.

To start with I think this will be a high scoring contest and I think Dallas are worth taking on the +3pt handicap at evens, as I think they could win this game. Instead I am taking Dallas +4.5 and over 40.5pts at 13/10 Coral. I also like Dallas to score O2.5 touchdowns at 10/11 Bet365. WR Terrence Williams came up with two big drops last week to stall drives, if he holds on this week then Dallas can march down the field on this D.
My main prop is Dallas RB Joseph Randle, who seems to have won the job over Darren McFATeden. Dallas were running all over Atlanta last week, then in the second half decided to abandon the run. If anyone can explain that, I would love to hear it.
Randle has carried the ball 14, 18 and 16 times this season, for 87yds 51yds and 65yds. He ran in for three touchdowns last week before they abandoned the run, this week he faces the Saints front 7 who have given up 378yds on the ground. Randle will carry it for 15-20 times he need to average 4.5yds approx to bring his prop up. His line is set at 66.5yds and I can see him going for O80yds if they stick to the run. It is 10/11 Ladbrokes and he is my anytime scorer at 11/10 William Hill.
My second prop is the opposite RB Mark Ingram. He couldn’t run against the Arizona Cardinals in the desert but is starting to become the Saints most potent offensive player. He ran for 50yds against the Bucs and 53yds against a really good Panthers D. At home in the Super dome, I can see Ingram being a big factor in the run and pass game. His line looks on the low side at 54.5yds rushing at 5/6 Paddy Power.
