IT’S been a nice turnaround in the past two days with a 21.25pts profit.
My 3pts Super Single of over 2.5 goals at AIK v Gothenburg on MOnday landed comfortably and AIK’S Henok Goitom gave me a 1pt first-scorer win at 11-2 with Aritz Aduriz later beating me for a 25-1 double despite netting twice for Athletic Bilbao.
It means the Super Single is close to returning to profit for the month and the advised acca losses are down to a more manageable amount – and remember those stats include long shots like last night’s double.
Tuesday’s card is packed compared to Monday and that doesn’t make it any easier to pick winners. There are four Capital One Cup ties – Everton v Norwich, Hull v Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday v Arsenal and Stoke v Chelsea and for all of them team news must be considered.
There are plenty of cup games across the continent (the likes of Holland, Germany and France) as well as Bologna v Inter Milan in Serie A
Desmond has tipped Everton and Chelsea to score 2+ and I’d expect both to field strongish sides while Norwich are likely to rotate after a poor run. It will be interesting to see how many changes The Tinkerman makes to his Leicester line-up. Claudio Ranieri hasn’t tinkered much since taking charge at the start of the season but will probably do so at Hull and if the likes of Jamie Vardy is missing I’ll be leaving them out.
I’ve spent a lot of time looking at matches and team news and with cup games it’s difficult to call them based on stats and form as team news is the No.1 factor.
So for now I’m putting up a goals bet and the St Johnstone Super Single I have in today’s Daily Record. I may add tips later once I see teams dropping on the Daily Record wires. But as I’m working tonight there won’t be any extra reasoning.
Lokeren v Gent has been tipped by many for goals and the stats back it up and I’m adding Wolfsburg v Bayern in the German Cup and Arsenal to score 2+ at Sheffield Wednesday who look to be weakened and on-form Millwall to net 2+ at home to Doncaster in League One.
I’ve posted a separate preview of the two Scottish League Cup quarter-finals between Inverness and Ross County and Morton and St Johnstone and all four managers are likely to full strength. The Highland derby is tough to call but stats suggest both to score for the sixth time running.
