I PICKED the wrong single on Monday when I went for Siena instead of Levante and the less said about Palace-Fulham the better.
For me Monday was a warm-up for what is the real thing and I've already posted my thoughts on all of Tuesday's Champions League matches as well as some tips.
To sum up I strongly fancy Arsenal, Chelsea, Basel, Atletico Madrid and Porto. I'll be on Barcelona if Lionel Messi starts, Napoli if they field Gonzalo Higuain and reckon Celtic-Ajax could be a draw.
For the Super Single I thought about the Gunners at 11-8 with Titanbet but the concensus is on a draw or Dortmund. I'll still be having a punt on Arsenal who have impressed me this season and Mesut Ozil could make the difference against a German side who don't always travel well.
Another London side Chelsea should also win at injury-hit Schalke but the majority feeling is Chelsea on the double chance. I'm willing to back them at 5-4 with Titanbet.
However, my Super Single is Basel and I don't see anyone disagreeing with that pick. The Swiss side are 6-4 with Titanbet away to struggling Steaua Bucharest and having won in Chelsea they can go to Romania and pick a vital three points.
I'm tempted by a Trixie on Arsenal, Chelsea and Basel. The treble pays 12-1 and a £2.50 Trixie returns £74.32.
For the Super Single I'm starting with League One title contenders Peterborough at home to Sheffield Utd. Posh have won five in a row and impressively conceded just one goal in that spell.
Sure, they are not prolific as they usually are up top but have become much harder to beat. Blades caretaker boss Chris Morgan guided his side to a first win since the opening day when they beat Port Vale last weekend but are they ready to take on Peterborough? Probably not.
Stay in League One and back Wolves at home to Oldham. Wolves have been better away from home but at Molineux have still won four out of six and in strikers Leigh Griffiths and Kevin Doyle, supported by Bakary Sako, they have the power to beat most sides.
Oldham have won their last two but have lost four out of five on the road and Wolves should take the points.
I'm completing the treble with Barcelona at AC Milan in the Champions League. The only thing I don't like about Barca is the price – 13-20 at Titanbet. For anyone doing a fivefold with Barca it's worth noting Ladbrokes shops have enhanced the Spaniards from 4-7 to 10-11.
The reasoning for Barca is one my Champions League preview post but basically Milan are missing laods of players such as Mario Balotelli, struggled at home to Celtic and are likely to face a revitalised Lionel Messi.

Monday night football is a huge occasion in America, and at the start of the season this looked like a great matchup between two NFC teams competing for a playoff spot.
The Vikings have suffered some tough losses so far this season, losing late on in games. They looked like they had turned the corner at Wembley beating Pittsburgh, but suffered a humiliating home defeat against Carolina, last time out. New York have been the surprise package this season, but not in a good way, they are 0-6 on the season and the natives are restless.
Vikings are ranked 31st in the league in total team defence, conceding 31pts per game. Minnesota are giving up 308yds on average through the air so I expect Eli Manning to light up this Vikings secondary. Given Celtics excellent home record, Getting them at 6/4 or bigger on a Champs Lge night is great value given the opposition. Against Milan and Barca there was nothing in those games. Ajax are a young inexperienced side, if what I am reading is correct. Home Win for me.

Looking at an in play game in Karachi Electricity to beat Afghan. I got them at 1/2 but they are currently 4/5 to win. Maybe I am missing something but any team +1 is the same bet as that same team double chance, win or draw, isn’t it? Yet Hills price up the double chance as slightly better odds than the +1. For example Barcelona +1 is 1/10 but Barcelona double chance is 21/188. I’m bit confused.

I’m not really a big horses man (bizarrely, I’m allergic!) but I do like an occasional punt on them. Rely a lot on tips like yours and a few others. Where there’s consensus on a pick, I’m on it!

I can cash out the Treble for one tenth of what it would pay if my third horse (at 5/1) comes in – which is still 4x my stake. And I can cash out the Doubles for one quarter of what it would pay if the third horse comes in (which is 3x my stake).

Going to try a treble outsite of England and the Champions League:
Platinum Stars (4/7): Started reasonably well, finished second last year and usually have a solid home record. Playing a side who came up through the play-offs last year. I think Platinum should be too strong for them.
SKA Energiya (19/20): 6th v 16th, Energiya’s home record is alright, but not fantastic, and the team they are playing have a pretty good away record (good for the league anyway). SKA are just below the teams with the really good home records, and they have won this fixture 4 out of 5 times (1 draw) and I think they will win here.
Kapfenberg (13/20): There were 3 possible games I could have chosen in austria but i’ve plumped for these. Partly because they have the larger odds of the three games, but also because they are a team in form against a team not in form. Mattersburg have been struggling a little since they got relegated, most particularly away from home, and have lost their last 3 to teams around the bottom of the table. Kapfenberg have been flying and recently beat the league leaders 3-0 at home in the process of winning 6 out of their last 7 (1 draw). They should win here.

My Uefa youth experiment turned out to be a success albeit a small one with 7 of my 12 singles coming in! As mentioned this morning, there are has been an abundance of goals in these matches today saw a 3-3 2-2 4-1 2-6 scores just a shame there was a 2-0 and a 1-1
What I did learn was that the goals seen to be in the games with the more glamours teams ( Milan, Ajax, Barca, Athletico etc)
Will do the same tomorrow but will concentrate in just 2 or 3 games!
I did 2 doubles on the 2pm games and of course, only one leg of each double hit 1.5HT and 3.5FT. I calculated that singles on them would have yielded more or less the same Profit and Loss. I did manage to make a little back by backing Barca to score the 8th goal!

Evening guys, I’m sticking with champions league tonight I may look at League 1 and 2 goal scorers if I get chance. My Super single is Chelsea away at Schalke. A defeat would leave them 6 points behind and In trouble. That’s 2 Super Singles in a row where the team failed to capitalise on a winning position. If nothing else, if you had a fair wedge on it tonight, you had ample opportunity to cover for a profit so from that standpoint, it was still a ‘good’ tip if that makes any sense!

Phurba, you could have covered the Basel single late on too with a small bet on the draw. I’m sure most people didn’t cover (me included) but I thought about it and everyone can make up their own mind how to use the tips.

It all depends on what your stake is. What the return is and what you’d be happy to get back! The best bet to cover would have been Steau to score the 2nd goal and id imagine that would have been 6/1 7/1?
I often cover, especially when it’s a decent sized stake I’ve placed!
Steaua were actually ‘only’ 4/1 to score the second goal as late as the 85th minute. Still, if someone had £100 for example at 6/4 on Basel, a £50 stake at 4/1 means you get £250 back either way and a tasty £100 profit.
Patrick, I don’t like talking about stakes but yes I made a profit thanks to the equaliser but would have preferred the tip to come up. But anyone doing singles and wanting to ensure a profit should at least look at the option of covering or backing to lay.

Been trying to follow your series this week and am a little confused about some of the staking in a few of the games. By my calculations a draw in the Chapecoense and SKA Energia games will produce a loss and in the other 3 games from your last 5 choices the draw produces a much bigger profit than the favourite winning. Am I missing something? As my initial thoughts were you were staking to produce the same profit whichever of the two outcomes occurred i.e. dutching.

Dezy, often I tell people to cover and anyone who follows the site knows that – anyone who’s a decent punter knows it and there aren’t many beginners here. I’m not logged on 24/7 and tonight I was working on a very busy Daily Record sports desk during the Celtic v Ajax game and very sporadically looking at the site.
Basel managed to cost me three bets at the end there. I’ve never felt more sick in my life. Unfortunately I was unable to cover them.
Had them £100 for a single.
£50 in a double with chelsea
£20 in a fourfold with napoli, atletico and chelsea.

Dezy on Sunday Mr f did suggest covering when sassullo were in the lead in a rain storm he gave that advice on thus occasion it wasn’t needed however it’s not something that’s alien to people to cover if you feel twitchy. Stutsy44, you’re bang on. On almost every CL game tonight there were various opinions put forward. My mistake was to put up the wrong Super Single but I tipped Chelsea and Napoli at good prices as well as Atletico Madrid and Costa to score. Celtic were the only home team who won tonight which shows how tough it was. I purposely did very little on League 1 and League 2 as midweek results are always funny and look at some of the shock results there.

Smoke it, last Christmas I was working with a big black American who stayed in Glasgow up in Halls warehouse in Livingston. It was nightshift and quiet mostly so used to get bets on and leve stream on my phone, only problem is the stoppages are brutal haha. it’s somehow mr fixit’s responsibility to suddenly give us minute by minute advice and notify us when to cover? Shall he also tell us when the best time is to go to the loo?
If I have a large sum on a bet, i watch the game like a hawk with my mobile in hand to catch the vibe of the game and look for opportunities where i can hedge my bet to guarantee profit. It is an excellent position to be in in-play when your bet is winning, it’s a chance to cover and then breathe out relax, as it becomes a win win situation whatever the outcome.
If you do not know the basics of protecting your stakes or minimising your risk, you really should not be betting huge amounts at this stage as you are obviously inexperienced.
Bet smaller amounts and learn ‘the art’ before using bigger stakes. You have learnt your first lesson today – cover your stakes.
Striker, most punters worth their salt will know when to cover. Unless you’re new to the site or a betting rookie you will be well aware about how and when to do it. It’s been talked about often. However, covering a bet is a personal choice. I covered on Sassuolo on Sunday and was able to advise that as I was on the site at the time but in the end Sassuolo won so I lost some of my winnings.
Exactly Mr. F. You need to decide how much you are willing to cover before you place the bet IMO. For example, I am always happy with a ‘double my original bet’ scenario with the Super Single and will settle for less if the game looks dodgy. So if I bet £100 on a 2/1 super single shot (not what I would bet lol!), I know that a £50 cover bet at 4/1 guarantees me a £100 profit regardless and possibly £150 if the bet wins.
So if the game is tight in the latter stages, I will bet on other other team Double Chance once it hits 4/1 or ‘lay’ on Betfair at the requisite odds. It is amazing how often a late goal scuppers things but you get that great feeling of winning even though your original bet lost!

Patrick, it makes total sense. Another way to look at it is to back and lay. For example anyone who fancied Sociedad tonight could back them and if they take the lead they’ll be able to lay for an immediate profit.
Leagues 1&2 do my head in during midweek nights, only normally do league games using my system, seems to be a lot more consistent on weekend, I think some teams must be scared of the dark
