THERE'S no getting away from the fact my Super Single performed poorly on Sunday and while the early tips were poor I managed to at least turn it around with two late winners.
Valencia were tipped up almost everywhere so their defeat by Deportivo was a surprise while Groningen failed to win at home for the first time in nine games to topple the Top Treble. I only do one set of top tips a day but later suggested a double on Villarreal and Lyon and Trixie on those two sides plus Sevilla.
My second choice for the Super Single was Sevilla at Elche but that's the way it goes.
For most people Monday will be about West Brom v Man United and because of the stats goals will be backed – so anyone who fancies the unders will get a good price.
Who can forget that 5-5 draw in Sir Alex Ferguson's final match in charge two seasons ago and that was followed by a 3-0 win for Davie Moyes's men in the last campaign.
The last three meetings have produced 16 goals. That's an average of more than five a game so does anyone fancy over 4.5 goals at 5-1 with McBookie and BetVictor?
Man Utd's previous three games have totalled 12 strikes so maybe over 3.5 is the bet at 2-1 with William Hill. That's my Super Single in Monday's Daily Record and I've decided to go with the bet on the site too.
I'm hoping goals at the Hawthorns isn't Monday's Valencia as it's pretty much a concensus bet but I'll be watching the match and hoping for thrills and spills.
The Reds have only kept clean sheets against Burnley and QPR this season while the Baggies have netted nine on four games so both to score looks on at 8-11 with bet365.
Best odds of 3-4 with McBookie on an away win look a tad skinny with United missing skipper Wayne Rooney and I'd prefer to go with goals.
West Brom are 4-1 with McBookie, William Hill and others while the draw pays 3-1 at bet365 and Paddy Power.
With Rooney absent United will need another big display from Angel di Maria. The Argentine has scored three in five games and is 7-1 with bet365 to break the deadlock behind favourites Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie.
I've won on Di Maria MoM already this season and fancy another punt at 11-2 with Betfred.
Saido Berahino is the Baggies' biggest threat and he is 12-5 at Skybet to net at any time. If you think there will be a lot of goals tonight one of them could be penalties.
Much was made about the number of soft awards in the Premier League at the weekend and Skybet offer 5-2 on a penalty tonight.
Elsewhere the big game is Real Sociedad v Getafe and it should be a home win at 8-13 with Ladbrokes. Real have only won once in eight but face a Getafe side who have lost all three of their away games by two goals.
Genoa entertain Empoli in Serie A and again this should be a home success and not a bad price – Genoa are 11-10 at 10bet.
I'm tempted by a treble on Man Utd, Real Sociedad and Empoli and that pays 9-2 at 10bet but I'm advising a different treble and a goals bet.
Real are in there plus the less risky over 2.5 goals at West Brom (unders will kill me tonight) and a more risky one of Jong PSV at home Fortuna Sittard. The PSV youngsters have been playing well and should see off a side sitting second bottom.
My goals line doesn't feature the Man Utd game as that would be all eggs in one basket. I'm on both to score at Swedish relegation battlers Falkenbergs at home to free-scoring Helsingborgs and Genclerbirligi v Ersciyesspor in Turkey. Genclerbirligi have averaged 2.1 goals in their last 10 home outings while their opponents have netted in 12 of their previous 14 road trips.
Add over 2.5 goals at Jong Twente and Fortuna Dusseldorf and research suggests both should come in.

only problem i see is someone comes along a does all your shortlist then moans.
Mr F, I like how you just list the 1 super single plus a couple of multi-bets. As you stated, its easy to put up say 4 or 5 shortlisters and 3 or 4 come in whilst the super single fails. If the short listers were all up there, many would end up betting on all of them and then complaining when only 1 or 2 actually come in.
I think your win rate with the SS is pretty good to be honest (i just wish i wouldnt keep losing all the profits i make from your european football tips on the south american leagues which are on in my daytime in Australia!)
Attila, I don’t like putting up too many bets and it’s not about quantity it’s about winning so I agree with you. Apart from Saturday which is such a big for punters in the UK I like to keep it fairly simple. The Super Single success rate is I believe 13 out of 20 and that’s satisfactory.

weswin, simply find how much you can afford to bet with and use 10% of that amount on each and every bet, no higher no lower and research every bet before you back it.

“Firstly, I have a betting bank that starts on August 1. For me it’s £1000 but it can be any amount (specifically one you can afford to lose without causing any dramas). On a daily basis I never wager more than 10 per cent on one day or on one bet so 10pts maximum. It would need 10 days of losing every bet for my bank to be emptied and it’s never happened. Every time I reach £1200 I withdraw £200 and have done so several times since August 1.
Every day I stake 50 per cent on the Super Single, generally at odds of evens or above, so if it wins I win no matter what happens to my other bets. Eight out of 10 equals at least eight winning days and that’s not counting other successes.
On the face of it Saturday would be a losing day but it wasn’t and let me explain. Today I staked a total of £115. £100 of my betting bank (10 per cent) plus £15 of free bets including a fiver on my Ladbrokes odds-on card.

I hope this explains things a bit better but the key points are betting bank, 10 per cent and level stakes on the Super Single – on most midweek days I usually put £25 to £40 on the Top Treble depending on confidence.

We have the likes of Carrick back in contention, and supposedly Herrera is going to play in a protective corset (ooohhhh matron) but if he is playing it’ll be a big boost to the center of our midfield. I can see Di Maria starting in the hole if Carrick or Blind play with Herrera which will be very good for goals.

If you bet on the exchange then yes you pay commission (5% usually less a discount if you bet over a certain amount).
Only other reason a return would be less if you were betting on the horses and there was a non runner

Really busy today but have to say I admire everyone’s confidence that Manchester United are going to win tonight. Not an away win in site and have crashed to virtually every opponent. Personally best bet is Btts and over 2.5. I’m already on a Btts to score double from last night that I can easily cover. I would also consider WBA double chance at around evens.
Alex, I think the confidence comes from Man Utd’s improvement but with the Leicester game in mind I’ve tipped goals rather than away win.
Mr F, improvement has come at home and even then they were quite lucky to get the points against Everton. They will have a dodgy patch in the game. Goals and overs is the way to go.
Alex, I think confidence is better too – I can’t see a repeat of the Leicester farce and they could have some defenders back too.

Bechatow have a very poor scoring record away from home. Be surprised if they scored two. However, there does look to be some value in this game. The double chance for Bechatow at 3/5 looks tasty considering the home side have a paltry 4 points thus far. To win outright at 2/1 also looks good. I think a scorecast of 0-1 could be worth a quid as well.

For the people going about the Hibs keeper definitely being recalled and having to play a youngster in goals…..Oxley is not and cannot be recalled by Hull. It was said on websites yesterday he couldn’t be recalled, even journalists from the Sun stated he couldn’t be recalled as well but i see it’s still on here today, so i repeat again Oxley is NOT going back to Hull.

Also Hibs, apart from a couple of games have been creating tons of chances, against Dumbarton i think about 25 on target and in 2 succesive games earlier 55 attempts, by far the most….but almost NO goals to show for it. Alagui being out was a huge blow and his “replacement” seems about as slow as a sedated sloth and not interested. :-)
