A tough game to predict, but team news is vital and in the last hour it has emerged that Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush are out. Megatron in particular is a big blow. I think under 47pts could be a chance in this one as Vikings are still without star RB Adrian Peterson.
The Lions have officially the leagues best defence, so it wont be easy for rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater. On his debut Bridgewater threw for over 300yds and scored a Touchdown. Offensive co-ordinator Norv Turner this week compared him to Russell Wilson at Seattle, time will tell. In a 50-50 if I had to call I would probably take the Vikings, however I am going to chance a small bet on Bridgewater to score at 7/2 Paddy Power. If Vikings get into the red zone then a running QB always has a chance of a fake play and scooting in.

Peyton Manning takes his offensive juggernaut to New York to face the Jets. The jets are only giving up 237.8yds through the air this season, but have conceded 12 passing touchdowns the second highest in the league. Throw in Geno Smith or Michael Vick will be under centre and under duress for most of the game, I don’t expect Peyton to spend too much time on the sidelines. Broncos defence should be able to give Manning short fields to work from and that spell danger for the jets. Manning only needs 5 touchdowns to tie Brett Favre’s all time record and he will take a huge step closer to it tonight.

Darts Grand Prix Final MVG v Wade
I have backed MVG to reclaim is Grand Prix title and anyone else who has done so can cover on Wade at 12/5 Skybet. I think Wade could give MVG problems, expect Wade to try and slow him down and if Wade gets in front he will be tough to beat. It is up to you weather you decide to cover or let it run.
If MVG gets in front, I cant see him blowing it like Gary Anderson did last night. Their H2H is 10 wins each, with the most memorable one coming in the world championships when MVG hit 17 perfect darts. I will take O7.5 sets at 11/10 various

So Giorgi threw it away today having been a set up, but that lead at least made the cover easy and there was good profit there on both the 16/1 outright tip and the 2/1 treble for anyone able to follow in-play. All in all an okay week, but i’ll certainly be looking for better over the next 7days.

Milos Raonic @ 2/1.
The only worry over Raonic here is his withdrawal v Monaco in Shanghai. But that retirement was due to flu rather than injury so it hopefully shouldn’t be a problem. The big serving Aussie currently sits at 8th on the road to London and will be determined to rack up the points with the likes of Ferrer and Murray hot on his heels. Assuming he is physically okay, he will take some stopping this week. Surface and draw favour him hugely, and it’s hard to see anyone troubling him before the final. Cilic sits at the bottom of the draw but has a tougher section, with Robredo, Youzhny and Monaco all capable of threatening the Croat, who hasn’t been playing his best tennis since winning his maiden grand slam title in New York (he just lost to Karlovic in Shanghai.) Raonic really just has Bautista Agut to worry about, and Raonic’s serve on an indoor hard court gives him the clear edge in that match up.
ATP Stockholm-
Leonardo Mayer @ 20/1
Tomas Berdych is favourite here and with a favourable draw could easily go on to lift the trophy. At just 11/8 he is far too short for me, so I’m backing Leonardo Mayer at a much bigger price. Mayer has had a fantastic year, and played some super stuff against eventual champ Federer in Shanghai last week. He had 5 match points, and if he can put that behind him he is in good enough form to be a danger in Stockholm. Mayer is in Berdych’s half of the draw, which is a good thing, as, Berdych aside, I can’t see anyone nearby to trouble him. Mayer plays Donald Young in R1, (probably) Sisjling in R2, then Dolgopolov/Baghdatis/Matosevic, all of whom he should have the beating of on current form. Berdych dropped his last set 0-6 to Simon, and if anyone other than the Czech is going to emerge form the top half of the draw, I think the Argentine has the best chance.
ATP Vienna-
Thiem @ 22/1
I’m at risk of looking a bit silly here, but I’d rather take a risk than back Murray or Ferrer at the prices on offer. Thiem is in Ferrer’s half of the draw, and has the game to beat the Spaniard on a fast indoor court if it all clicks for him. The draws been fairly kind to him, with an opener he should, especially given the surface, really win against Haase and with a physically struggling Kohlschreiber the nearest seed. It wouldn’t be a shock if Thiem fell early this week, but of all the underdogs with a shot of going deep I rate his chances the best. With the pressure really on Murray and Ferrer to pick up points this week, Thiem, with nothing to lose, could make some waves.

Haha, woops! Dyu know that’s not the first time I’ve made that mistake. It’s something to do with his serve I think. New York Giants v Philadelphia Eagles
The more I look at this matchup, the more I change my mind. The handicap is set at 1.5, so it shows how tough a game this divisional battle is. If you trust Eli Manning to get it done on the road then take the points. If you believe Philly can outscore anyone in their house you have to give up the points.
The Eagles average 31pts per game this season. They have to cover O25.5pts 10/11 at Stan James. Philadelphia scored 21 points on San Francisco turnovers a few weeks back, and Eli is always likely throw picks, it could give the Eagles short field possession.
For me I am taking those points in what I think could be a shootout. Eli has weapons like Victor Cruz, Ruben Randell, Odell Beckham jr, Larry Donnell and Andre Williams. Eagles QB have Nick Foles at QB and he has LeSean McCoy, Riley Cooper, Jeremy Macklin, Zac Ertz and probably Darren Sproles. The total in this game is 49.5pts 10/11 Various
My Prop bet in this game revolves around Giants RB Andre Williams. The Eagles are missing a couple off offence linemen and while that gives Eli and the passing game better chance of winning, I am hoping on the road they use the ground game with Williams. Starting RB Rashard Jennings is injured, but Williams has stepped in and scored on both his starts. His rushing yards line is 75.5yds 5/6 at Betvictor and I think if Giants stay in the game he can cover this line.
I think Andre Williams could score tonight, but I will be happy with the yardage. Eagles WR Jeremy Macklin has 4tds this season and remains their main weapon. He is evens at Skybet, and for the Giants TE Larry Donnell has emerged as a big threat in the red zone, and a mismatch for secondary’s he is 6/4 Skybet.

NFL Monday Night Football
The San Francisco 49ers travel to St Louis Rams for a divisional battle. The Rams haven’t won at home this season but having lost QB Sam Bradford they are slowly getting better. Austin Davis as started putting up big numbers, he has 300yds in his last two games. The 49ers are beat up on defence, yet still find a way to win. They have not given up 300yds to any QB in the last 5 games. If they have to run the ball then the 49ers are the second best run D in the league.
A few weeks back I tipped up RB Frank Gore to score and cover his yardage, as the niners needed to get back to running the ball. The 49ers have started doing that and Gore has delivered and I will be on him again tomorrow. He is 5/6 anytime and the wincast is 2/1 William Hill. The Rams are giving up a 152yds on the ground and while they are decent in the secondary Gore could torch this front seven on the big stage that is Monday Night Football. He is being asked to cover more than last time I tipped him, but 83.5 at Paddy Power could well be in reach. It is 5/6
The 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick also likes to run and if the Rams start focusing on Gore and Rookie Carlos Hyde, then Kaepernick could pick up some yards on the ground. He as to cover 40.5yds at Ladbrokes at 10/11. I am leaning towards Gore as my prop and taking a chance on Kaepernick scoring at 11/4 Various.

Welcome to the site Haydey. I was convinced Berlocq would win in straight sets before hand but just backed the win, though i did back him 2-0 @ 4-5 down for small stakes in the second. As you may have noticed Vesely busted a fair few of my bets though. I guess I was overconfident in him, but he should never, ever, be losing to Gimeno Traver on an indoor hard court. Every opinion i heard agreed with me so if you could’ve popped up on here with that contradictory opinion beforehand that wouldve been great!! I’m all for the challenging of opinions and tips on here so i’m hoping youre able to regularly add your voice to the equation.
I agree with your frustrations over those two markets, that’s exactly why I stopped doing them a while ago! I prefer to just back an underdog to win with a view to covering/cashing out if needs be or to back them to win a set if i’m really confident they’ll bring that in. Nothing worse than correctly picking an underdog to do a lot better than people think and backing overs, only for them to smash the favourite 6-2, 6-2!

No worries mate! I know what you mean. It’s all about discipline. I think if I just stuck to one NAP a day on here at around evens (probably two favourites or one straight sets win I really fancy) I would hit at least an average of 4/7 a week, which, as you say, could be a very tidy money spinner over time. But most people, including me, prefer tips at slightly bigger odds , and that’s when things start going wrong! It’s hard not to put the lower stakes, bigger odds bets on you feel are gna come in too though, as you’re gna kick yourself when they do and you havent backed them! I’m gna keep things simple for the rest of this week. I’ve already put Monaco/Groth up as my NAP for tomorrow @ 8/10 and for smaller stakes a 2-0 double @ 3/1.

I’ve already tipped a Monaco/Groth double and a 2-0 double on those two for smaller stakes. I’m struggling to find any other favourites that I’m really confident in backing at the price on offer, so i’ll just stick with

I’ve just seen the odds of a wednesday matchup that i really fancy as a single – Hughes Herbert d Carreno Busta @ 4-5. I think the Spaniard will simply be out powered in this contest. He is 2-7 on hard court this year, plays nearly all his tennis on clay and lost his last match, on the dirt, 6-3, 6-0 to lucas Pouille. Hughes Herbert has three easy indoor wins under his belt already this week and has scored some very good wins on fast surfaces this year. I saw him take down Janowicz on grass and Tomic on hard and was impressed both times, especially with how good he was behind his first serve.

Tickety- I’ve somehow got an account with just about everyone now! I use oddschecker to see which bookies are offering the best price for any bet. But as a general rule betfair is very good. The odds on betfair exchange in-play are nearly always better than anywhere else, often 50 – 100% better than bet365 and others. I’ve been finding recently that 365 are spot on with a lot of their assessments of tennis matches and so for the best odds on the matches I want to bet on I look to other bookmakers.
I just had a better look as well ad and apart from the ones we mentioned nothin really screams at me! Interested in the Souza copil match up! Mite lay Souza 2-0 but it’s hard cos I like Souza.. Like what u said on Hughes Herbert I think he’s good if he’s on! Mite wait around abit tomoz and hope a shorty goes s set behind and get involved! Do like portrugal Denmark both score it’s happend last 9 meetings and ud also fancy it alone on recent games! We’ll see anyway…. The prop bet is something if people want a bet for the entire game for interest, and like I said last night I think the 49ers will run the ball on road and Gore could be in for a big game. As for the Kaepernick tip, again as I said he is one of the best running QBs and while Rams will want him to throw into their secondary if they bring extra line men up into the box to stop Gore and Hyde, Kaepernick could well use the read offence and keep the ball himself. Again it is there for people to have a small stake on a anytime scorer, that will give interest throughout the game.

The 49ers at the start of the season went a lot with a 4 receiver sets and throwing the ball, when over the past 3 years they have been a pound and ground offence.
It is possible they changed because the defence is suffering a ton of injuries. A few weeks back Frank Gore spoke to the media about being unhappy with the lack of opportunities. Offence Co-ordinator came out and said Gore still had a big part to play in the offence.
Since then Gore has run for 119yds against Kansas and 107yds against the Eagles, both those games were at home but 49ers have won all 3 games when Gore gets 16+ carries and on the road in a divisional game where the Rams struggle against the run, that’s why I expect Gore to have a big night. Monday night football is a huge stage to shine and in the toughest division in the NFL, it is a huge game for the 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers travel to St Louis Rams for a divisional battle. The Rams haven’t won at home this season but having lost QB Sam Bradford they are slowly getting better. Austin Davis as started putting up big numbers, he has 300yds in his last two games. The 49ers are beat up on defence, yet still find a way to win. They have not given up 300yds to any QB in the last 5 games. If they have to run the ball then the 49ers are the second best run D in the league.
A few weeks back I tipped up RB Frank Gore to score and cover his yardage, as the niners needed to get back to running the ball. The 49ers have started doing that and Gore has delivered and I will be on him again tomorrow. He is 5/6 anytime and the wincast is 2/1 William Hill. The Rams are giving up a 152yds on the ground and while they are decent in the secondary Gore could torch this front seven on the big stage that is Monday Night Football. He is being asked to cover more than last time I tipped him, but 83.5 at Paddy Power could well be in reach. It is 5/6
The 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick also likes to run and if the Rams start focusing on Gore and Rookie Carlos Hyde, then Kaepernick could pick up some yards on the ground. After Dallas pulled off the biggest upset in NFL history last night beating Seattle, hey DeAndre ;) San Fran has a chance to equal Arizona wins of 4 on the season in the toughest division in football.

I just got 34/1 on betfair exchange. This price may well go quickly as she’s about to beat vinci. She’s playing very well so far this week and has a very manageable route to the final, where she would have a decent shot if she keeps this form up. take any price of around 15/1 and above, definite value in my humble opinion.

Yeah Anderson was definitely too short. Don’t have enough faith in Tomic to actually back him to do anything though. Surprised Nieminen’s not doing better. And really not happy with Makarova so far. She should’ve gone 4-1 up but instead she’s somehow managed to lose the first set. I’ve hardly seen any of it but she can’t return a basic kick second serve and she’s racked up a huge amount of unforced errors going by the stats. She’d better turn this around, Begu should be easy to beat if she just puts her under pressure, gets into a rhythm and gets her off hers.

Jesus christ, Makarova is genuinely playing like an average club player on half these points. Shes come up with some of the very worst misses ive seen recently on every chance shes had to take control of this match. So little confidence in her game. She also looks like shes crying, or at least fighting back the tears. What is going on ?! Begu’s hardly had to do anything.
Well a really disappointing end to the day there, as much for the manner of defeat as for the defeat itself.
So it’s one 4/5 winner from me today and one 6/5 loser. The only positive from Makarova going out is that it weakens the field and boosts my earlier tip Riske’s chances of winning. But that’s a very thin silver lining on a grey cloud!
Hi guys. I think I can add something to the tennis section of this forum. I’m testing out a staking system. Its a slow burner especially with the amounts i’ll be wagering but if i can turn a profit over a month. I’ll know it works ok and can up the stakes. Ad/ Haydey – what are your thoughts on Pennetta beating Giorgi. I was on Mladenovic to beat Pliskova and that has saved my day.
Pliskova was very flat and lumped on at 10/11 during set 1. Expect Giorgi to be just as flat and Pennetta is 6/5.
I nearly jumped on Mladenovic last night but decided against it as im trying to keep my staking sensible and my bets to a minimum. she took a medical time out in her final v giorgi last week and there was always a chance she wouldnt have much left in the tank.
I dont think Giorgi will be flat. But there’s always a chance she will lose v someone like Pennetta who is experienced and Solid enough to exploit her erraticism. But if Giorgis on it again she could hand out a 2-0 beatdown and if I was going to back anything i’d back that. But I’m not going to touch it, it’s too hard to call.
Well I think ad is right about the giorgi pennetta match in that its too hard to call. For fun i’ll say giorgi 2-1 but I would never back it. Ad fognini kukushkin could be closer than the odds suggest. I dont believe its worth the risk due to fognini’s topspin. right enough fognini’s on a bad run and kukushkins playing well. However gimeno traver’s beating vesely showed a clay court player can perform here

Re Fognini, its more about him than Kukushin that i’d back against him. Fognini can lose to literally anyone if he’s not in the mood, as he proved by losing in 2 sets to Chinese wildcard Wang in straight sets last week. Playing someone as capable as Kukushin on an indoor hard court and in Russia, should hopefully ensure he isn’t really in the mood again. Kukushin went on an incredible 7 match winning run to the final here last year before he fell to Gasquet in three. I fancy the Russian in this one, but it’s not the sort of bet I would go big on, as, like you say, Fognini does have the tools to be competitive on any surface.

Just putting up my early thoughts for this weeks/weekends NFL. Purely by eye and what I’ve seen from teams in recent weeks.
Patriots -9.5 (Playing the Jets, Brady masterclass under the Thursday night lights)
Seawhawks -6.5 (Overcome their ‘shock’ defeat to those Cowboys ;)
Green Bay -7 (Aaron Rodgers won’t be be having anything to do with a possible tie game).
Chargers -4.5 (The spread has already changed from -4, I think this should be more of a -9.5).
Thursday night I may go all out on Patriots -9.5 & over 45 points @ 5/2, or the -15 @ 7/4. I have already put £10 on Patriots to win by 31 or more @ 9/1 just for kicks.
I’m sure you NFL regulars will steer me in the right direction but if you have any opinions on these I’d love to know.

Well I’m always happy to hear opinions. That’s why I’m here. I have a staking plan which is to bet 1% of my total pot of £500 per bet. So £5 each bet at evens for 1 month. If I have £550 at the end thats a ten percent increase and with larger stakes could be excellent. If I have £450 its probably best to try another way. Anyway I want to make the bets as sure as possible so I will only back youzhny for now.
That sounds like a very sensible approach Brian. It’s nearly always chasing big wins that people lose money. As is evident from my choice of NAP tomorrow, Beck and Mayer are the picks I have the fewest doubts about. I definitely fancy Youzhny too, just not with quite as much confidence (he only served @ 47% in the first round and that’s put me off a little.) In fact I’d trust those two both to come in slightly more than I trust just Youzhny too, but that is just my opinion. And it’s rare that two results are actually a safer pick than one, so I’m ready to be proved wrong!
Fingers crossed all four come in to make it a very good day. But the key, as you have clearly grasped, is to stake sensibly. Gambling is a much more enjoyable past-time (not to mention more profitable) when you’re betting amounts you won’t be fuming about losing. It’s all about the long term. If stakes are level and your picks are sensible then it can’t go too far wrong.
btw Brian, don’t let me talk you out of lopez if you’re really confident in him. It’s more a hunch than any real logic that’s putting me off.

Hey guys.. Had a few drinks last night so feelin rough lol.. Last night could of been better but lost on verdasco over games.. Then as I was drinking had a early treble on the late games and didn’t bet again as I was drinking! Lisicki let me down in that… Don’t do women’s tennis very often and that’s why! She’s been dodgy last year or so but last few months she’s been a lot better! Onto today that bring said I really like the look of beck but women’s ya just get more upsets(like to see the stats on that?) think Mayer is the nap surely… As much as I love sock I’d back chardy to win a set and double it with something… Need to be careful tho cos my head is banging
I was hesitant with lopez anyway, but Youzhny’s first serve percentage is a worry. However I’ve decided to go with lopez murray and raonic. Its works out at evens. Bellucci’s first round win over mathieu wasn’t impressive to me considering mathieu played poorly last week. Murray and raonic are there to make up the bet to evens. However I think they both should win. Best of luck anyway. I hope kukushkin does the business for you.

Just saved my behind for the day – after morning losses I had a feeling he could do it so went for a single before play at 6/5, then against any reason went another £50 on him at 1 set down at 12/5 and have cashed out for total profit of £180. Total profit would have been 188 but thought Lopez could retire and void it all so took money and ran.

I’m reading preview and thought I’d post some info regarding tonight’s NFL game. All taken from cbs sports.
‘The Jets defense, meanwhile, played a big part in the team allowing 31 points for the second straight week. New York has allowed an average of 28.8 points since the 19-14 victory over Oakland.
Its defense gave up 253 rushing yards in the first four games before allowing 300 to San Diego and Denver.
An already depleted secondary got thinner when starting cornerback Dee Milliner suffered a season-ending Achilles injury Sunday.
Now, the Jets face a New England team that has scored 80 points to beat Cincinnati and Buffalo in the last two weeks.
Tom Brady has won six straight regular-season home games versus New York, and thrown nine TDs, one INT and recorded a 101.3 rating in the last five.
After posting a 59.1 completion percentage with four TDs and two INTs in the first four games, Brady silenced his critics by going 50 of 72 for 653 yards with six TDs and no picks against the Bengals and Bills.
Brady, however, won’t have Stevan Ridley to lean on after the running back suffered a knee injury Sunday that reportedly will sideline him for the rest of the season. Brady has thrown 653 yards in his last two games against ‘better’ defenses. Jets giving up 525 pash yards in their last two games. With injuries to the Jets secondary and the Patiots without their first choice RB (Ridley) I think it could be a tough night for the Jets secondary as long as the Patriots offensive line keep keep them away from Brady who throws with freedom when he’s not under pressure. Think tonight calls for a Brady prop bet but no totals on WillHill yet.
