IT'S going to be a couple of tricky weekends for punters with the FA Cup dominating today's card ahead of a break for internationals – most of them friendlies.
Salford's defeat of Notts County last night suggests there will be plenty of shocks today and avoiding them is the key for punters.
I've posted an FA Cup preview with some stats-based goals tips and team news and there are also Scottish and English league previews.
My Saturday tips will never go against what I put in the Daily Record but this weekend they're different and that will be the same in the future as we get ready to launch the new site. My Record deadline is 5pm on a Friday (which really means my articles have to be written by about 2pm) and if I'm not working on the paper I have 7-10 hours extra to do research and that can only help.
The Super Single in the Record is Livingston at Morton and it's a big call but Livi have notched superb back-to-back wins at Queen of the South (4-1) and home to Raith (3-0) and are big at 11-5 with Ladbrokes away to a Morton side whose only recent win was at struggling Dumbarton.
I'm adding a second SS on the site and it's a more confident one in Hearts, up to second in the Premiership, at home to a Hamilton side who were 4-0 down at home to St Johnstone last weekend before two late goals made the score a bit respectable. I hope both singles win but one out of two won't do any damage.
For the Top Treble I'm on National League title chasers Dover at home to Stourbridge and adding Borussia M'gladbach, who are going for seven wins in a row at home to Ingolstadt, and Bayern Munich -2AH at home to Stuttgart.

Quick reasoning:
Hull won last 5 all comps & last 4 lg games to Nil,unbeaten last 11 all comps including seeing off Swansea and Leicester in carling cup keeping a clean sheet in both during 90 mins play. Boro although going well themselves having won last 3 lg games these were against 2 sides at the bottom Rotherham and Charlton and a very inconsistant Wolves,they have lost 2 of last 3 aways to Nil and i can see them struggling to find the net against Hull given they are without two of their main attacking threats in this game Uruguayan Christian Stuani and David Nugent who will not play any part in this clash after being withdrawn in the midweek win over Rotherham United.
Southampton have reached this target in 7/8 all comps only failing when scoring just 1 in a score draw away to Liverpool.
Sunderland have worst defence in prem lg conceding 25 times and regularly concede a minimum of 2 against top 9 teams { 5/6 only exception was just 1 against Spurs} so i expect 7 th place Saints unbeaten in last 7 all comps to add more misery tomorrow.
Hammers v Toffees has seen Btts in 11/13 meetings and last 4,3 of which were in 2015. Four from West Hams 5 lg homes has also seen both sides scoring and 6/7 Evertons games all comps has seen the same, nothing to me suggests this shouldnt be the case again tomorrow.

Orient are 7th in League Two and making a decent fist of returning to League One after relegation. They entertain a side 18th in the Ryman Premier (albeit with games in hand) who are fresh from defeat last weekend to previously winless VCD Athletic.

Despite being named as 1 of the candidate for the wooden spoon winner this season, the Jets has played well in every game they played so far. Rookie coach Scott Rookie has made them hard to beat and veteran Aussie David Carney seems like to be like a player on a mission.
As for WSW, I’m still not too impressed by them. Marquee Italian striker Piovaccari has look like a flop so far.
At these odds, it’s hard not to back the Jets. They should really confident with the bright start that they had. They should also be more motivated today as a win will allow them to top the table.
Wednesday to beat Charlton at 21/20 is a very generous price for a team unbeaten in twelve playing a team without a win since August and without a goal in five.
We are high on confidence and have a settled team, with a bit of rotation here and there keeping some players on their toes. Certain players have made themselves undroppable though and I expect the likes of Westwood, Lees, Loovens, Lee, Bannan, Wallace and Forestieri to definitely start. Charlton have a few out injured and not a lot of experienced replacements to call on.
It seems that Charlton fans aren’t happy with their owner and are planning a protest before the game tomorrow. The atmosphere could prove difficult for the home players and if we can get an early goal then we could fill our boots against a side low on confidence with an inexperienced foreign interim coach.
Barry Bannan has been brilliant since joining but so far he’s not managed to show the same composure in front of goal as he shows everywhere else on the pitch. He gets into some great positions, is technically gifted enough to score from distance and he’s due a goal so 5/1 any time to celebrate his player of the month award is worth a thought.

Aussie A league and FFA Cup action down under at 5.15pm and 7.30pm respectively.
Lets look at A league fixture first and that pits Newcastle Jets v WSW. Jets are looking better this year but victories have been against Adelaide (very poor side) and Melbourne City (city lost 3 goals in last 34 mins) so i am still not entirely convinced by Jets. In saying that WSW won last week at home to Perth and that was a decent result. Jets season has so far been built on solid defence and WSW have lacked some firepower up front.
3 of 4 WSW have been under 2.5mg and 2 from 4 for Jets. That pays $1.80 on bet365.
I just cant see wsw winning but they have never lost in Newcastle although one win in 16 aways doesn’t point to an away victory.

That’s not going to shy me away from goals though – two teams who have seen goals in abundance in recent matches! Northamptons problem is not scoring, it’s keeping them out that’s that issue! Any advice welcome. I had two ladbrokes money back 5 team acca lines today (if not known, it’s basically money returned as a free bet if one of the five teams lets you down).
In one line I had four winners and the other game was postponed after I placed the bet.
In the other line I had three winners, one loser and a postponed game.
Does anyone know what the rules are regarding pay-outs with above? Both were waterlogged pitches so unlikely to be played within next 48 hours.Thanks.

I don’t know how long Ladbrokes will run the grid promotion, but for anyone who bets in-shop it’s been a god send. I would never do a five fold, usually trebles tops. However you can stick in a couple of odds on shots in to make up your five fold (although no certainties ever) but put Rangers in both lines at 1/18 today, so effectively allows you the cover of one losing without having to perm. Money back as free bet if one loses. Also threw in Sheff Utd at 1/6 so it was effectively a treble.
charliescot, for shop punters it’s a great offer but remember the prices you’re getting are pretty poor.
For example Hearts were 8-11 on that coupon yet bet365 went evens.
Hibs were 4-7 and you could get 4-6.
You’ll get the same offer with some bookies online and with better odds.
Going to take it easy tomorrow with a simple double.

Thanks Paul for your wisdom and advice. I did think the odds were flimsy compared to online. Did bet online before but lost track of the power and meaning of money, so easy to divert from level stakes and ‘go all in’.The potential to bet all day every day on everything and anything is not right for me, however good luck to those (like yourself) who can take advantage of the ‘best odds’ on offer and not lose control. The introduction of betting shop terminals allows me to get in early at better prices and I have taken advantage of this on occasion. With shop betting it feels ‘real’ and as a keen student of ‘addiction’ it suits my own needs for a punt, but keeps it regulated and controlled. Horses for courses, and here’s to all punters making money against the odds.

That bet must have been for cover as, as I mentioned earlier, the guy seemed quite savvy. Unless he knows of an impending 20 point deduction for all teams in the top 16 he was obviously doing it for a reason.

I can only speak for myself really mate but for me if they were going to sack him they would have after Liverpool last week. If there was someone world class in the wings then I could see the logic but there isn’t. To be honest we have a lot of recent fans who are used to success but I’ve been following long enough that a man who brings us 3 titles, however chalk and cheese he is, goes a long way in my estimations. No question though confidence is shot in the players at the minute. We bossed them today. Spent most of the game in their third but hardly any real chances
No 6th goal in the Willem game and at 3-2 with 30 left thought it was in the bag…over 5.5…lost…booo.
Looked at a few tonight in SA and Mexico is the destination of choice although potentially some crackers elewhere…
