A BUSY day at the Record gave me little time to look at Friday tips and my only bet was a both to score double beaten by Wiener Neustadt.
I quite often look at the Austrian second tier for goals but last night there was a poor return.
So we move on to Saturday and a card complicated by FA Cup ties and no League One and League Two games in England.
Team news is important for the FA Cup clashes and for that reason I'm focusing on goals there as opposed to WDW bets.
Sides who have confirmed they will make changes include Bristol Rovers, Oxford, Bolton, Charlton, Bradford and Plymouth.
Luton's manager Nathan Jones says he'll field his strongest side at Exeter so good on him and MK Dons are going down the same route as are Barnet and Walsall among others.
I've posted separate previews on the Scottish and English games and I've added a second Super Single to the Brighton I put up last night.
The other is Dundee Utd to win and under 2.5 goals at Queen of the South. Queens have failed to score in their last seven matches in 90 minutes and only one of them has gone over 2.5 goals. United are also a low-scoring side with four of their last five going unders and the sides drew 1-1 earlier in the season.
No one knows where Queens' next goal is coming from and that's a worry. They'll need to break the duck at some point and let's hope it's not today.

I’ve been to a number of Brighton games this season, including the 5-0 win against Norwich last week where Brighton played well, but the score line reflected the defensive howlers by Norwich more so. Anthony Knockeart has been by far the stand out player for the team over the past two seasons and in my opinion is the best player in the Championship at present, scoring and creating goals. However he is out this week after his father passed away so Brighton will be missing that attacking spark which concerns me. Just a word of warning.
Cheers for the heads up – Brighton to me look a side on the up and their record against Bristol City is excellent.

Post late match summary and preview for Todays early televised kickoff where Wolves host my beloved Derby.
Since Derby parted ways with Pearson, we have made progress. Huddersfield snatched a late stoppage time winner on a game we dominated, we also threw a 1 nil away over the next 4 crazy minutes to lose against Blackburn and Reading took an injurytime equaliser. Our most recent form reads WLDWDWL when it could easily of been WDDWWWW.
We played well with Sheff Wed visiting last week and although it ended 2 nil to the rams, Sheff Wed were very good value to of took that game. their speed and movement was terrifying from their box to our inside 10 seconds over and over again. Derby’s Scott Carson got man of the match and earned us that 3 points. We had chances, lots of them but whilst we are showing signs of improvement , the gaffer has said there is more to come from the Rams.
We travel to Molineaux today in front of the Sky TV and last time we played them in this fixture, they beat us 2-1, that was televised too. Of late, we’ve not been that great in front of the TV, but given Wolves horrid last match form of DLLDLLW, I think Derby are terrific priced at 19/10 to grab all the spoils.
Last week ( for about the 4th match on the trot ) I predicted an under 2.5 tmgs and it came in at 3/5. Only 6% of Derby’s league games have gone over 2.5 tmg’s this season.
Home advantage COULD give Wolves a bit of fire in their bellies but with Derby’s gaffer continually raising that bar, sooner or later, we may get a bit more luck in the last third. A good point to mention is that Derby’s defensive record is vastly improved although we’ve ridden our luck many times.

Like many, I fancy Newcastle today. They are in the kind of form most expected them to be from the first day of the season. There is a lot to like about some of their recent results and they should see off a Cardiff side who, despite picking up a few results of late, can’t seem to keep sides out at the other end. I’ve paired the Geordies with Fylde. Fylde failed to score for the first time in the league this season when losing 1-0 to Tamworth last week. Today they are visited by a Stalybridge side who have conceded 38 in 16 games, losing 13 of them. Though they won last time out against fellow strugglers Bradford PA, I can’t see a better fixture for Fylde to get back to winning ways than this one. As ever, though, I’ll stick to team goals rather than WDW!
If the above goes well, hopefully Ebbsfleet add to the joy. They play Truro, who last week got hammered 5-0 by a St Albans side I’d backed. Ebbsfleet average nearly 3 goals a game at home in the league, and this ought to continue against a Truro side who have kept just one clean sheet on their travels.

Done a £100 pre season bet on man city, Newcastle, Celtic, hibs and Alloa to win their leagues. Returns £10106 being offered £465 cash out was £570 odds a few weeks ago which ain’t bad but don’t mind letting it run as I can see all them teams being there are there abouts which should increase the cash out offer, which was always the target.
My only concern is Alloa, I think you tipped them up at the start of the season, so do you still think they can win or at least be very close, hence increasing the cash out.

Personally I’d be tempted to cash out. Celtic and Newcastle will be fine – Hibs should be OK but no guarantees there.
Alloa’s problem is they lost their manager to St Mirren and have reacted badly.
