PAUL PETRIE of McBookie.com and Owen Scott of William Hill tried to land whoppers so it was no surprise they missed out.
William Hill's Owen has still to land a treble this season and will be getting desperate with Christmas approaching fast. Paul has won £153.20 so far to £10 stakes. Here's what the duo are on this weekend.
Owen writes: Well, last week must have been one of my worst trebles so far as I tried an ambitious three draws and all matches had a convincing winner. Once again I go into a weekend looking to break my duck for the season.
I'm starting with Beith at 6-5 to bounce back from their Scottish Cup exit by winning away at Petershill. Beith were in great form before their defeat to Kilwinning and I expect them to get back to winning ways this week.
Penicuik at 1-1 are my next selection. Only one defeat in their last 10 matches puts Penicuik in a good position as they visit Broxburn in the league and I reckon they can leave with another three points in the bag.
To complete the treble I'm taking Irvine Vics at 10-11 to beat Ardeer in the First Division. Vics had a slow start while Ardeer started well but the tables seem to have turned in the past couple of weeks when Vics are now the form team.

Paul writes: I am sticking with Thorniewood to beat Broughty in the Scottish Cup at 11-8. The reasons stand from last week and they represent good odds.
Next I am going for Culter at 4-9 to beat Falkirk JFC. It is always dodgy backing North sides against teams from other regions but even though Culter are weaker this term they should still be strong enough to beat Falkirk.
Finally, I am taking a punt on Forfar West End to beat Carnoustie at 17-10 – a massive 10-3 with Hills. The Gowfers have been knocked out of a few cup competitions in the past few years by lower-league clubs and this will be a difficult tie.
