WE had a wonderful weekend and now move towards a busy midweek. Highlight for me was the four draws on Saturday but overall there were some good contributions from many of the regular posters.
There are a few decent matches to consider on Monday before the Champions League resumes on Tuesday – and my advice for anyone with bookies' money to play with is to play with your usual stakes and bank the rest.
The temptation is always there “to go big” after a win but if you've worked hard to move into profit don't give it back easily.
My winnings were over four figures on Saturday yet on Sunday I spent the usual percentage of my pot and enjoyed another decent day. I've already said we had problems with the site but my first Top Treble of Man City, Torino and Sevilla landed at 4-1 although my Super Single of Fiorentina failed.
I later put up a more speculative treble which was beaten but I was also on Wayne Rooney to score first and Patrice Evra to score – bets also recommended by Chris Guy and Greg Browning.
Today the game many will focus on is Rangers v Arbroath in Scottish League One while in Italy Roma are looking to return to the top of the table by beating Cagliari at home.
Ally McCoist's men of course have a 100 per cent league record and on the road and have netted 20 goals in six games – conceding just three.
There have been a couple of stuttering 1-0 wins – at Stenny last time out for example – but before that hit four at East Fife and Brechin.
Rangers have averaged 3.3 goals away and beat Arbroath 5-1 at Ibrox in September. That's been a common theme and while Gers are no bigger than 2-9 at Ladbrokes to win you can have 18-5 at McBookie.com on a half-time draw and Rangers victory which has been a common theme recently.
Jon Daly has rattled in 12 goals in seven games and is 11-4 with William Hill and Betfred to score first – that's my Super Single in Monday's Daily Record and I'm going with it on the site too.
Roma won their first 10 league games but have been caught at the top by Juventus after successive draws against Torino and Sassuolo. The international break has given Roma time to regroup and they should get back on track against Cagliari with the return of Gervinho a welcome boost.
It's two points from six games for the Sardinians on the road and their last away success came at Pescara in February.
However, they have won on their last two visits to Roma after losing 10 in a row. On Monday it should revert to type and I'm starting the treble with Roma to win.
One team on my shortlist last night were Krasnodar and they've been mentioned a few times on the site this morning. A win will push them into the top six – or fifth if they do so by two goals – and they should get it against a struggling Terek Grozny outfit.
Krasnodar have won six of their last eight and face the Russian league's lowest scorers – eight goals in 16 matches – and a side without an away win all season. The one surprise to me is Krasnodar are as big as 8-11 with Coral – although that's been cut. Ladbrokes go 7-10.
Complete the treble with Besiktas at home to Konyaspor in the Turkish league. Besiktas are on the up under former Croatia boss Slaven Bilic and are unbeaten in five. Like Terek Grozny, Konyaspor are without a win on the road and this looks a home success all day long.
The treble doesn't pay much but that's often the problem on the Monday. Anyone looking to increase the odds slightly can add Rangers or boost it further by taking Roma -1, although that's a risk.
In the English Premier League, West Brom entertain Aston Villa in a midlands derby that could be a draw for the fourth successive time.
Eight of the last 15 meetings have ended all square – and strangely the other seven have been 2-1 to either side. The draw pays a best 5-2 with Betfred.
Malaga v Athletic Bilbao in La Liga also looks a draw – and this morning posters have put suggestions about other games which could end in stalemate as we try to land another four-timer.
Olhanense v Academica and Auxerre v Caen were two suggestions I'd already considered so I'll go with them. Now I'm only doing this after Saturday's win and for those who want to try it then do so for small stakes – I'd suggest a 50p Yankee or a £1 Yankee for anyone who was on those Saturday selections.

Well, what can we say about yesterday? It was a brilliant day on the whole. Mr F’s treble (posted on twitter due to site issues) came in, Greg landed countless bets, raaljaca landed some and many others posted winners. Myself, I landed a perfect day. 5 out of 5 including 13/8, 7/5 and 2/1 winners. Can today be as good? Well with a smaller card, I’ve only selected 4 bets but hopefully they’ll all be winners and it’ll be another good day. In fact, what scares me the most about these selections is the fact I have to spell them and possibly say them out loud at some point…

Greuther Furth are free scoring and scored 6 in their last away game. 1860 have conceded a few goals at home this season and have been very mixed indeed. The away side hit four in the corresponding fixture last season as I’m expecting them to score at least at couple here. It could be a high scoring game but I’m not convinced. I’m pretty sure Furth will be potent up top though and therefore my tip is Greuther Furth over 1.5 team goals at 5/4.
AKHISAR BELEDIYESPOR VS KARABUKSPOR (Try saying that one after a couple of drinks) 6:00pm
Apart from having no hope in pronouncing their name, I have a bit of form with the home side after tipping them to beat Galatasary in October at 5/1. After recording 5 home wins in a row, they drew 3-3 with Besiktas last home game, no mean feat for this club. The away side (I’m not saying their names again) have been poor away from home and have lost 3 of their 5 away matches and have conceded 2 or more in 3 too. I’m going for the home side to score over 1.5 team goals at 6/5 here as well as them to win and over 2.5 match goals (something which would have come up in 3 of their last 4 home wins) at 5/2. A very generous price given the stats.

Now, I don’t know much about Romanian football but I did watch Ploiesti against Swansea in the Europa League and they weren’t dreadful on their own patch. The away side’s form is very poor and they have conceded 10 in their last 3 away games. Ploiesti are strong at home and have registered 3 wins in their last 4, scoring 7 goals in the process. There is a big gulf in class between these two and I’m packing Ploiesti to score over 2.5 goals at 6/4. They should be able to blow their opponents away and hopefully land a good price for us.

I follow the Turkish football closely just wanted to add to to your comments for the Akhisar v Karabukspor.
I think Karabukspor have been playing well but up until last week they could not get the results they have deserved from the games played. Some refereeing decision and football luck went against them. They have forward players with pace i.e Lua Lua (former Newcastle-Portsmouth) and Ilhan Parlak whom I think will cause plenty problems for rather slow Akhisar defence. Also having won for the first time after weeks they would want to build on that.
Akhisar has a great home record but they have not won in the last four, their last win was against a very poor Galatasaray on the day missing 2 key midfieldersIt was also Mancini’s first leage game in charge following the midweek 2-2 away draw to Juve in the champions leage.
In my opinion the safer bet would be Btts around 4/5. I also like the over 2.5 match goals @ 21/20.

Early prices aren’t good for over 2.5 at 1.27 (which tells you the bookies think goals) so I’d look for in play markets on over 1.5 HT goals, over 2.5 Second Half goals and over 3.5 or 4.5FT just before kick off.

Unfortunately, today they’re playing the best away side, Wil, and Wil have already beaten them away this season in their only defeat. Wil also beat them in this fixture twice last season. But, despite winning five of seven away, Wil have been far less consistent than Vaduz this season, and have lost a handful of games. They’re only fourth overall, 7 points behind. The main thing is, Vaduz finished last season second bottom of this league and won 5 games in total in their 18 homes. They’ve already won six at home this season from eight played. They’ve improved hugely, are obviously riding high on confidence, are looking at promotion, and can take all the points here.

I’m on that treble, which pays at 6.4 but I’m adding another selection for a separate fourfold, too. It’s a real crowd-pleaser – it’s Under 2.5 goals. ;-)

For tonight I’m looking at Bilel Mohsni for first goal. The 6ft 3 defender has scored 5 goals in 7 starts for Rangers and always poses a threat with set pieces. I know Mohsni was available at bigger odds at the start of the season but the 14/1 on offer at Bet365 still represents good value, especially when you consider he is generally available at 7/1 and 8/1 elsewhere.
The 14/1 sticks out like a sore thumb. Also as Rangers like to score in the second half what about Mohsni to be first Goalscorer from 46 mins – Full Time at an astonishing price of 70/1?
It’s difficult to look past Jon Daly the way he has been banging them in recently. Daly has scored 8 goals in his 5 previous games for Rangers with all his goals coming after the 46th minute. If looking for draws, try Olhanense-Academica in Potrugal. This game is in for a low number of goals and draws were common in their previous games.
Another game to look at is Aalborg-Nordsjelland in Denmark. Odds were loking strange to me considering that 2nd and 11th in table are playing, but Nordsjelland finished 1st and 2nd in previous two seasons and were playing last year’s Champions league. To add to that, both teams have 4-1-1 in last 6 games, both only losing away to FC Kopenhagen, so two teams in a good shape could end up splitting the points.

Huge problems for Nordsjaelland with key men missing in all departments. Out is Kasper Lorentzen, Uffe Bech, Andreas Laudrup, Oliver Thychosen and Jens Larsen

Also if looking for anytime Goalscorer One player stands out above all others and that is Danish attacking midfielder Kasper Kusk. The babyfaced forward has been deadly this season and is the obvious selection seeing as Aalborg should score a few here. The young man has scored 7 in just 13 starts for AaB this season which is a phenominal record

I have a decent strike rate myself but wouldn’t dare posting as of yet, I might do in the future.
However, being Italian I know a bit about Italian football and I read the Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport every day, so if anyone would like to know about the mood in Italy prior to a match, give me a shout.
Tonight is a good case in point: If Roma play to their potential Cagliari don’t have a prayer BUT Roma have been destabilised by continuing rumours of Chinese investors coming in and ensuing power struggles at the top.
Roma – a bit like, say, Newcastle in the UK – are generally vulnerable to the public mood, and new boss Rudi Garcia has not proven yet that he can build a wall around his team, so that they will not be affected by such things.
Gervinho is back, so their main goal threat returns. It could well end up 3-0 but it could also be 1-1 – a dangerous tie in my opinion.
Azzurri, your input on Italian football would be welcomed, especially vital team news. I know what you’re saying about Roma – they should win but can’t be totally trusted. I just feel this is a game they should win. Who’s your team?

Akhisar has been on form and playing hungry ever since coach Hamza Hamzaoglu had been appointed assistant coach of the Turkish National Team. Players have been giving that bit extra.
A few of Akhisar’s players are currently on high after receiving their first national team caps and recalls after almost a decade during the last national team break. Karabukspor are known to be a teethy opponent with pacey counter-attacks, and the Akhisar players will want to prove their worth.

Does anyone have any insight into the Portuguese game between Olhanense and Academica de Coimbra?
Both teams are having a poor season (from the league table) with a point separating them at the foot of the table. Academica are bottom and playing away from home (10th best away record in the league), yet they are favourites for the match?
2/1 for Olhanense to win at home sounds quite generous, does anyone know why those odds are what they are?

Ah but you see, the bet I mentioned was one nobody seemed to fancy, and he stuck his neck out and boom. The other thing is, if the odds are 50-1 you only need to win 1 in 50 to break even.
Fair enough mate, like I said Im not having a pop but you don’t have to follow him. But, the fact that he comes here and not only puts his bets on but puts his neck on the line earns him respect in my view.

Madi, thanks for that. I think you might have spotted a wee gem with Alan Cook. He is 50/1 to score first goal @ Bet365 and 16/1 anytime. Considering his goal scoring record and the fact he’s netted a couple against Rangers that price is huge and looks great value for ew or for anytime. Best price I can see for Cook fist goal is 16/1 with Paddy Power and he is as short as 12/1 with Coral so the 50/1 has to be snapped up now. Thanks Madi, if he scores all credit goes to you but I simply can’t ignore that price.

I also out up reasoning for Commons who was a stand out 8/1 and only 4/1 and 9/2 elsewhere. If I can put up reasoning I will but there’s not much reasoning you can put up for goalscorers other than I think they will score? True? The beauty about first goalscorers is you don’t have to win every bet and still show a tidy profit.
Madi Last Goalscorer price is always the same as First Goalscorer. In betting shops they don’t display prices for last scorer but you can just write it out on a betting slip. Madi I think you’d me Mad if you didn’t back him for first goal especially after highlighting him. Back him anytime but just stick
Something small like £10 or £5 on him first. You’d be kicking yourself if it came in.

More goals scored in 2nd half in 9of their last 10 games including 5-1 loss to Rangers where all 6 goals were scored in 2nd half.
As for Rangers, 5 of their last 7 away games had more goals in 2nd half. (In only two games were didn’t one was a 1 nil victory with goal scored on stroke of half time. In the other game Rangers scored 3 of their 4 goals in 2nd half but opposition scored all 3 of theirs in first half.)
Odds for more goals in 2nd half seem fantastic considering all of the above.

I watched the kas v terek game and although they stats show the home team dominating, my oh my can they not shoot for shit. They kept pulling the trigger too early and hitting balls wider than ric wallers waist and blazing them over the bar. Their goal was a fluke own goal i believe. Terek aren’t doing any better though with minimal shots. I got a 5r on just below odds, i thought the home team would be 2-0 up by now.

I got on at 35min mark at 10/11. Was in the middle of calculating the amount that would cover my stake at 11/2 when Terek score. Same thing happened again at 65mins, no time to even cover. Eventually covered after 5th goal. But money put on the Terek double chance means my 10/11 has become 3/4 in effect. But I think of it as a free bet since any other outcome than a Krasnador win will mean my money back.

William, never yet known an owner to allow anyone to put up a ‘tip’ for a horse the night before. Given bookies monitor betting/tipping sites etc it would be madness to give a potential winner out before you have helped yourself to the best odds available, most aren’t up until the morning of the race. Almost Average, looks like they’re giving it as a final result. Sometimes games can be stopped a couple of minutes early if there is a threat of crowd trouble or whatever and if one team is leading by two goals the result should stand.

Dortmund v Napoli
This is a must win game for Dortmund so their price is somewhat short at 1.61 as you may expect, though I think there could be value to be had with Napoli at 5.75 which seems huge.
Napoli suffered a disappointing loss at home to Parma at the weekend so will be hoping for a good response. Equally Dortmund lost against their German rivals Bayern on Saturday evening, so they will also be keen to get back on track in front of a no doubt rocking stadium.
In the previous fixture Napoli beat Dortmund 2-1 in Naples and this appears to be the decider game for the second spot in the group behind Arsenal. With Arsenal to play last, Napoli will know that they can’t really afford to lose this game so a draw would be a good result for them which they’d take now if they could I’m sure. Napoli have already won in Marseille so they proved they can grab a result on the road if they need to.
Add to the fact that Dortmund are without Schmelzer, Hummels and Subotic (three of their regular back four) and with Napoli boasting the likes of Higuian, Insigne and Callejon up front I can see goals in the game.
It’s a tough one to call and my head is telling me Dortmund, just, BUT with Napoli so high I’m going to go for the double chance giving me a 66% of winning the bet at a good price.

Not exactly a stand out fixture on the card for tomorrow as 6th plays 14th. However this one sticks out like a sore thumb because of Salisbury City’s excellent home record and Forest Green’s terrible away record.
Salisbury have the 4th best home record in the league P10 W8 D1 L1 F20 A8 whilst Forest Green have the 4th worst away record P10 W1 D2 L7 F12 A24.
Salisbury are the Man City of the Conference in that they appear a completely different side at home then away. They have won their last five at home and Forest Green have lost their last five away from home.
The teams haven’t played each other for a few years so history isn’t really worth considering on this one.
