WEDNESDAY was as tricky as expected but I thought I'd have a better chance with the one tip I put up.
Stats suggested Ivory Coast and Cameroon would score but instead it was a snore bore. Of the other three Africa Cup of Nations teams I mentioned two won – DR Congo and Ghana – while Nigeria drew.
I was close to putting up Aldershot as the Super Single at home to Portsmouth but team news put me off so well done to everyone who kept faith in the non-league side at a nice price.
There is another FA Cup tie on Thursday with Ryman Premier League Maidstone entertaining League One Stevenage in a replay. And again the non-league side look the better bet on their plastic pitch at the sold-out Gallagher Stadium.
Maidstone have won 12 out of 14 on the plastic this season and the one defeat last time out against Sudbury in the FA Trophy came with 10 men and a weakened team.
Jay May was the man who walked but his three-match ban doesn't kick in until next week so the non-leaguers could be unchanged from the side that drew 0-0 at Broadhall Way in the original tie.
Stevenage manager Graham Westley has a doubt over striker Adam Marriott and fellow hitman Calvin Zola is out with an ankle problem. Charlie Adams is available after extending his loan spell from Brentford for a further month but fellow winger Josh Clarke has returned to Griffin Park after his initial one-month loan finished.
Stevenage have won just once on 14 road trips so Maidstone look big at 7-2 with Betfred. I like the look of a home win but the safer of option of Maidstone not to lose can be taken at 39-20 with 10bet and on another quiet night that's the Super Single.
Not to lose Maidstone are 19-20 with William Hill while you can back them to qualify at 33-20 with 10bet. Over 2.5 goals pays 4-5 and it's come in in 10 of 12 matches on the 3G surface.

Jake, it’s happened a few times this season but it’s not a policy I advise. Most are over evens but sometimes after a few winners I take more risks and go with a bigger price if I like it.

Chris, you know I don’t like the 1-20 minutes bets. How many of Guidetti’s first goals have come inside 20 minutes? In my eyes it’s hard enough picking first scorers never mind adding the 1-20 risk. As I have no knowledge on them, it is difficult to know whether teams go on to score bigger points or relax (in the case for the team yesterday) and let them back in the game.

Danny T,,, most bookies give 10 points yellow 25 points red..If a player is booked already, and he receives a 2nd yellow card along with a red, then that player has received 2 yellows and 1 red equalling 45 points for that player alone……..Hope this helps.

J, I’m not ignoring advice that is given. I totally appreciate what has been said and will take it on board.
However, we know that there are good tipsters out there that place tips on games they have no idea about as well.
A lot of it is based on stats and I follow that rule just like anyone else – unfortunately it hasn’t panned out that way in the last couple of days.
I’ve lost plenty of money (£2300 in the last 2 years) on placing large amounts of money on games – one being a £900 stake which failed so I’ve certainly learnt my lesson in respect of chasing losses with a huge stake (at least).
Appreciate everyones tips and advice – I have always said tough that placing tips is only half the skill, the other half is knowing when to cash out/cover.

z man, to make 500-1000 per month is possible but it’s all about what you’re staking to win that. For me a 10 per cent return on total monthly stakes is fine – anything else is a bonus. So to earn 500 I may have to stake 5000 but of course I don’t stake anywhere near that.

Z man-there are a number on here that I would say walk away with a couple thousand per month on average. It is certainly achievable and not a bad supplement to any other income you bring home. I rely on at least one big bet a month to bring home the bacon. I have been fortunate thus far with the bigger bets but a bad loss is only around the corner. I got stung once this year thus far and the profits far outweigh the loss.

I suspect some of the regulars might be on this a little later, Shaun T, perhaps Damo and certainly Mr F’s local chippie. In the last 14 matches (all comps plus friendlies) between these two teams since 2009, only 3 of those games have gone over 2.5 goals. If you go back further then it is even less. So far in the league Boca is 5th having played 8 home games (won 5 lost 3) Scoring 11 and conceding 8 in the process with 3 clean sheets. River Plate sit top having played 8 away games (won 4 lost 4) scoring 14 and conceding 6 with two clean sheets. Boca on average score 1.38 home goals per match while conceding at least 1. River score on average 1.75 goals and concede 0.75 per away game. Boca have failed to score twice at home and River have found the net in all 8 of their away games. The only caution that I would put out there is that this is the first leg which may or may not be a cagey affair. The other significant factor is that the BTTS-Yes has seen a price drift since lunch time. For illustrative purposes I am betting £10 in total. Good luck. I will be having a cheeky bet as follows:

Harry after 9 or so in a row you’ll be massively up! I never usually record results but it’s been really helpful I’d definitely recommend it. It highlights teams and bets that win you the most and also makes it clear if you’re doing too many bets.
Overall my profit is slightly less than that so that showed me its the in play bets that are costing me. I’ve cut that right down and it’s improved my balance. Max 3 bets a day seems to be working best and to be honest it’s working best when those other two bets are from other recognised guys on here and obviously Mr F.

I rarely comment but I use the site daily and follow peoples bets quite often usually resulting in my backing them when they loose.
I’d like to raise a point to MR FIX IT, its not to be negative it’s just an observation I’ve made over the last few weeks. I get the feeling Mr fix it that you’ve lost interest, the bets you’ve been stating recently have been poor and ultimately random, with no clear evidence. Your winning the odd super single but very rarely and your post is getting smaller and smaller. I get the feeling your relying on the regulars and focusing more on fish and chips. Gain that passion again, start focusing more on the right game and the flow will come back you definitely have the skill

What’s the minimum stake per bet do you think is reasonable to place? for a “newbie” like myself
think its all down to what you can afford to lose mate. the lads on here have a betting bank and bet like 10% of it a day or per bet i think so it would take 10 losses to wipe your bank, which we would hope would not happen.

Hi all, first time poster. I’d just like to thank you all for your efforts in researching tips and educating people like myself how to make sensible bets, not to chase losses and do propper research. I’ve been looking at the site for around 2 weeks now, the first week I lost money but not as much as I used to. This week using a £50 pot I’ve got up to £112 and actually took a tenner back out. I’m slowly creeping my stakes as my pot rises and the way I’m betting has changed dramatically. Fiddler been on your ice hockey and bb last night, awesome, raal used quite a few of yours, Harry been on yours this week, Sean tanner I’m a shift worker so been on quite a few of yours, Mr f big hand. You need to go back to April for the last time River Plate failed to score away from home, with 6 of the last 7 seeing BTTS. Boca have scored in 8 of their last 9 home games but only 2 of the last 7 have been BTTS, which along with River Plate’s stingy defence in the league probably explains why BTTS isn’t shorter, so I’m only having a small go on this.
Both sides have scored in the last 4 meetings, all of which were this year. Some of them were friendly matches but this is the biggest rivalry in South America so I would imagine they were pretty full-blooded games. Boca haven’t won against River Plate since 2011 with 2 draws and 3 defeats, which makes River/BTTS at 7/1 look tempting but they have a few injuries and players returning from international duty to consider, whereas Boca have a fully fit squad.

Nightowl, I considered betting on this game but with River Plate not being at full strength their form has been a bit iffy of late. Also, it is the 1st leg of a cup tie so we could well see a very defensive game. But good luck with your tips, nice write up!

Shaun been looking at it all evening and think Gremio will win, but not totally confident on that call.
