I NEARLY put up a Super Single yesterday but in the end held back and tonight the problem was more about whittling down my shortlist.
I had a few in mind – Iceland to qualify, Germany to beat England and Greece away to Romania – but in the end I've decided to go with Cambridge in the FA Cup at Bury.
Cambridge lie top of the Conference by six points and in reality lie just four places behind Bury in the pyramid system. And while they have lost just once in 19, Bury have won only three times this season and must be short on confidence.
We know the gap between League Two and the Conference hardly exists with most promoted teams doing well so Cambridge look a decent punt at 9-4 against opponents whose last home game was a 3-1 defeat to a Torquay side even lower than them in the table.
I've put up a separate post on the World Cup play-offs and as far as 90-minute predictions go none of them are easy calls. As I've said I believe France and Romania have too much to do.
Greece outplayed the Romanians in the first leg and could even nick a second win even though they don't need it. France need a miracle to beat Ukraine by three goals but you never know, an early goal and everything could change.
I reckon Portugal will qualify with a win or draw in Sweden while Iceland may do enough in Croatia unless the hosts produce a performance that's been lacking in recent outings.
As far as the top treble goes I'm staying away from the friendly internationals and going with FA Cup ties. Let's start with Newport at home to Braintree.
Six of Newport's seven League Two wins have been at home and they were impressive last time out against Hartlepool. Conference side Braintree have lost both games since drawing at home to Newport and I like the home at 8-11 with Ladbrokes.
Next I'm on Wolves at home Oldham with both teams missing players on international duty, including Molineux striker Kevin Doyle and Oldham's Carl Winchester and Kirk Millar.
Wolves' squad should be able to cope better with the absences and it's the same group of players who won at Notts County at the weekend while Oldham requested their league game with MK Dons be postponed.
It was 2-0 Wolves when the sides met in the league and I reckon the home men will edge this one. They are 8-13 at Ladbrokes.
I thought about completing the treble with Scunthorpe at home to Grimsby but as it's a derby I'll leave it out. Instead I'm on Carlisle at home to Boreham Wood in their replay.
Carlisle dominated the first tie but couldn't score and will be helped by the return of Scottish striker Lee Miller. Take the home men to beat the lowly Conference South side and consider Miller to score first at 10-3 with Ladbrokes.

Good evening all. Tips going up tonight as will be unable to post until at least 4pm tomorrow. It was another successful night and the first night out of 8 that it was neither 100% or 0% on a selection of tips with 2/3. Today I’m going with 3/3 BUT there are a couple of risky ones so would advise adjusting stakes for those two.
KUWAIT V THAILAND 3:35PM (ASIA CUP QUALIFIER)
I’m not tempted by many internationals but I see a little bit of potential from the Middle East here. Unbeaten at home in 2013, I fancy Kuwait to win this one, but their opponents are bound to make it difficult for them and have been known to score plenty of goals, although they often lose the game. The two bets from this game for me are Kuwait to win and over 2.5 match goals which will pay you out at just Evens but there’s a good chance it will come in. The risky one from this game is BTTS. Normally I’d say BTTS is a relatively safe bet in games which I expect goals in, however the bookies don’t think so, therefore have priced it up at 13/8. That is a MASSIVE price for this match. Thailand have score in each of their last 6 away games and apart from a 0-0 with low scoring Lebanon last time out, Kuwait conceded in their previous 5 home games but lost none of them. As I said, 13/8 is a massive price especially considering the reverse fixture in this match was won by Kuwait 3-1.
DARTFORD V WREXHAM 7:45PM
I’m mixing things up slightly today by picking a tip from another game. It’s a BIG value one for me though. Dartford have won 3 of their last 4 home games despie languishing in 22nd in the table. Their general form is poor, but haven’t played at home in a month, expect a return to some form. They like to score too with 9 goals in their previous 4 home matches. Wrexham like to concede too with 11 in their previous 5 matches. They have lost 4/5 of these away matches and 3 of those defeats have seen 3 or more goals. Dartford to win and over 2.5 goals pays a HUGE 4/1 and I’m definitely going to be on that.

My tip for tomorrow is Altrincham to win against Colwyn Bay away in the FA Trophy priced at Evens.
I was at the game last Saturday and we (Altrincham) were in charge all game and looking very comfortable with a 2-0 lead with under 10 minutes to go in the game when the referee fell down injured.
The game couldn’t carry on without an official, and there was no 4th official present so the FA determined that the game be re-played today (Tuesday)
The general consensus between almost everyone in the ground which included the home fans was that Altrincham were the deserved winners and Colwyn Bay should forfeit and reward the match to Altrincham. They didn’t so Altrincham should be looking for revenge and to right a wrong.
I know it’s football and Colwyn Bay have a second chance but I can’t see anything other than an Altrincham win and I feel it’s excellently priced at Evens.
I’ve just read on the Alty forum that even one of the Colwyn Bay players said that after they played teams like Hednersford and Solihull they weren’t in Altrincham’s class.

Got to agree with Sean. France are a very poor side compared to some of their recent teams and I cannot see them qualifying. They need to go for goals but Ukraine just don’t concede many. If France haven’t scored by half time they may have to throw caution to the wind at that will play right into the opponents hands. If its level at half time I would be backing Ukraine to win the match.

Already mentioned it yesterday, this is a no brainer. Holland will miss: RvP, Robben, Sneijder, De Jong, Kuyt, Martins Indi, Willems and Clasie. Add to the pure lack of quality (Dutch team will be comparable with a bottom prem league team) the fact that there is zero experience in this team and the only conclusion can be a Colombia win. They impressed vs Belgium and even if they totally under perform vs Holland, they have an easy ride to three of four goals.

A bit nervous about the Iceland game because I want them to qualify. Being Welsh, i’ve got a bit of sympathy for the underdog haha. Have fallen down a couple of times this season betting with my heart rather than my head, and so may avoid that one. They’re always in with a chance of scoring though and whatever one might say about them in the first leg, they defended very well with only 10 men.
Can afford to waste a sneaky fiver on France because stranger things have happened (well actually they haven’t if you read the history), and I like Colombia’s chances given Holland’s injury concerns.
Will either be on Dartford or Crewe depending on research, but seen as im going to be away from the PC, wont be able to cover so just want to be more confident than I currently am. my bet I put up earlier regarding the England under 21 game correct score being 6-0 @ 25/1,I just looked on my Betway account and they have voided this bet so I contacted them asking reason why and they have stated its a palpable error with the following reason.
is this usual,i have never had a bet voided before with the various betting companies I have been with online
this was their reasoning for voiding bet

Mr G had this a few times with Bet365, unlikely there will be anything you can do about as they cover this type of thing in their rules, best thing to do is complain to them about it and they might give you a free bet for the inconvenience

When betting on 365 to get your bonus I’m sure there is certain odds to bet on or it won’t qualify towards the bonus so if your bonus is £10 you must wager £30 at certain odds before you can withdraw

Daft and foolish ultra bonkers bet of the day: India vs Nepal in-play. It is 1-0 to India and they do look like they are on top. However, Nepal beat India 2-1 away 2 months ago and also drew 0-0 with them last year. Nepal are 80/1 to win or 14/1 on double chance and 9/2 to score in the second half. In fairness, the odds reflect the chances so a tiny and miniscule stake is all I placed for fun but I think the odds are a bit skewed unless of course most of Nepal’s first team are absent or something! Now would be a good time to bet on an heavy India win!

Montengro u21s 11/10 to beat Irealand at home. They be level on points, but Ireland have played a game more, including 2 against the Faroe’s while Montenegro have played Germany twice. Over evens is a very welcome gift that should fund a new pair of long johns.
Denmark and Croatia were my two handicap bets, but both those ships have sailed with both teams scoring early in their matches. Remind this sailor to get up a little earlier in the morning.
Other possible handicap bets in different seas are Germany -1 at Romania (13/20) and Sweden -3 at home to Malta (37/40). The Deutsch arrre a class outfit while Sweden have struggled, but Malta have taken the role of the scurvy scrubber on the ship, losing 20 goals in 5 games.
One game caught my good eye for unders in the err under 21s, Moldova v Lithuania. Moldova’s 6 matches have brought only 8 goals, while there has been 16 in Lithuanias, though their 5-0 defeat to England skews that slightly. A home win to 0 is also a decent bet, and I’ll be tipping Russia to do the same at home to Estonia, who have scored only 5 in 5 against the groups weakest teams.

Looking at the Super Single tonight and finally convinced myself it is a great bet. Craig, the seedings for the WC are based on the October rankings, so the matchess after that won’t affect any team’s World cup pot. I think this was done to not allow teams an extra advantage of playing more competitive games.

Looking at the Brazil game for later – for last 7 meetings between the sides I can find then there have been at least 3 goals in every game with 4 games having 4 or more goals.
Over 2.5 is a bit measly at 1.60 but seems to have a good shout, over 3.5 is 2.50 if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous
If you’re feeling really adventurous then Brazil -2 would have come up in 5 of last 7 meetings and this is available at 4.33

They’ve won their last 2 which is one home and one away. The home win was against bottom of the table San Carlos which isn’t particularly stunning but San Carlos have only last 4 out of 9 away, drawing the rest. The away win was against 2nd placed Banfield and is the only home defeat they’ve suffered in 8 games. As is the theme here then I’m willing to take a bit of a punt.

I don’t expect praise for my tips, it’s really nice to get it but I’ve only been posting regular tips for just over a week.
William – Don’t spend more than 10% of your bankroll a day for me. Although it depends on how you like to bet. £20 a day split across however many tips you like should be fine. The Dane is your man for staking plans though.

Well Mr F You was right again with your over 2.5 goals in the Sweden v Portugal game. Your never far off off the mark or hit the crossbar. My own view is that England should be 50-1 to win the World cup. I am just happy that we are there. It would would be nice to see other home nations qualify or at least win their home games.My own view is on the World Cup Winner you would not go far wrong in backing both Brazil or Germany to win it. But their are couple of outsiders certainly worth considering in Columbia and Chile.
