IT'S D-Day for Andy Murray as he faces Roger Federer with semi-final places on the line at the Tour Finals.
Murray will know what he needs to do before tonight's match as Milos Raonic and Kei Nishikori do battle in the earlier Group B clash.
Only victory is likely to be enough for the Scot – perhaps by a 2-0 margin – and he can take confidence from his head-to-head record against Federer that stands at 11 each. Murray is available at 21-10 against the Swiss ace (5-11).

I fancy Federer today but it may be sensible to wait until the result of the first match before placing any significant bets. it could have an effect on how both players come into the match mentally.
That being said, 2-0 @ 6/5 is tempting, but always a dangerous bet against a hungry Murray. And it should be said, as well as Federer has played, he hasn’t really been tested too much yet.
In the early doubles Lopez/Granollers should hand Nestor/Zimonjic their third straight defeat, and I’ll be doubling them up with the straight Federer win for a 6/5 double.
A bet I think represents some value in the Federer match is Murray to lose the first set and win the match @ 8/1. It’s very likely that Federer will only need a set to top the group, and while he’ll want to get the job done in two, it’s a difficult situation to be in when a desperate to win Andy murray is on the other side of the net. Federer will have at the back of his mind that Djokovic is likely to cruise through his final group game without breaking a sweat, and if Murray can get the second set it’s hard to see Roger giving 100% physical and mental effort for another 45 minutes or so to win a match he doesn’t have to.
I’ve been following the tennis this week so I feel in a position to comment. For me nishikori has been playing very well. And whilst I don’t think raonic has been playing necessarily badly, I feel the advantage is with the returner rather than the servers. Perhaps that goes some way to explaining djokovic absolute annhilation of two players who rely heavily on there serves. For me, nishikori is good value and I expect him to win. Hope everyone’s had some big wins since I’ve last posted, I don’t really get a chance to follow the tennis at the moment, so it’s nice to have an opportunity to share my insight. Ad I was thinking maybe fed first set as you’ve highlighted but probably going to leave it and just enjoy what should be a good match

Brian – just a word of caution on Nishi – he has been having trouble with his wrist, had treatment on it during both his matches this week, so may affect him today if it’s not 100%.

I agree with you brian that Nishi should have the advantage. He’s not serving well himself but a raonic is serving poorly and that’s a far bigger problem for him. Still, I don’t really want to get involved as it’s just been one of those weeks. the debutants all seem very nervy. Raonic should’ve won the second set against both federer and murray and with nothing to lose could perhaps play a little least tight on the big points. We shall see. I can see an easy Nishi win or a long hard fought contest. Wouldn’t it be nice to have one of those this week!

The opening game tonight, sees the best young player in the game in Smith take on former BDO world champion Kist. Smith beat Whitlock, Wright and Dolan in the group stages and I think he will prove too good for Kist this evening. The bet I like here is O8.5 Match 180s. Smith is a prolific 180 scorer and over this longer format he could go close to covering this line himself. Kist will need to bring his scoring game tonight and he too can weigh in with a few maximums. The overs pays 11/10 Various.

The second game on the card looks to be a close game. King won all his group games 5-4, while last time out Anderson bounced back from being took apart by Bunting to beat Harms in just 73 darts, hitting 5 maximums in 5 legs. As I say he hit 5 in his last match in a 5-0 and seeing he needs to win 10 legs to win tonight, and the pace of the game will suit both players, then the overs look a great call. Taylor v Wright
It has been a cruise for the power so far this tournament, but faces is toughest test so far. Wright has struggled in the second half of the season, a change of darts again but did produce his best performance on tv against Whitlock in a winner takes all match. He averaged a 100, but that is Taylor’s lowest average of the tournament so Wright will need to find an extra gear.
Taylor some what surprisingly topped the 180s table after the group stages with 9, he normally goes downstairs for treble 19 but from what I have seen he is staying on the treble 20, so for this reason I will take a chance he keeps this up and take him to cover his 180 line which is set at 4.5 and pays 6/5 Bet365

Bunting v Wade
This is the best match of all the knockout stages, Wade won the masters recently while Bunting his flying up the PDC rankings since is switch. I expect both these to be in the Premier league, and I expect a really close game tonight. It wouldn’t surprise me to see this go 10-9 either way, I cant see one player running away with this so I am taking O16.5 total legs at 5/6 Skybet. There should be plenty of legs to go O8.5 match 180s at 1/1 Ladbrokes. Bunting is a heavy scorer, and the last few tv tournaments Wade has been hitting the maximums.

I like the Bulls if Derrick Rose starts, the moneyline is nice, but the +2.5 is more secure. The Grizzlies are also looking good but I dont think they can cover the Kings, the under in this one should be interesting.
The Warriors should take care of the Nets, that were terrible yesterday against the Suns. They should cover also.
I dont like the Mavericks anymore, they made me suffer against Sacramento at home and also lost the previous by a lot, plus Jameer Nelson appears doubtful, plus it pays too little.
I would go Moneyline on the Bulls if Rose plays, Grizzlies and Warriors just to be sure.

Just came back from the capital this afternoon following three great days of tennis at the o2. The Djoker is still widely available at 1/2 in the outright market and after seeing him lose five games out of two matches I thoroughly expect him to lift the trophy come Sunday evening. Murray v Fed is a tricky prediction but leaning towards the goat based on matches played for Murray and the fact it’s a low bouncing indoor court which suits the more aggressive player.

Am taking Buffalo with 4 start tonight, very little between the 2 sides but Miami are without Brandon Albert tonight who has been one of their best front line this season, Buffalo d is sure to be happy about that and will pressure the QB, another worry for Miami is the health of Miller who went off injured last weekend, if Lamar aint 100% and they cannot stop a very strong Buffalo pash rush it could be a long night for the Dolphins. Their one hope is Mike Wallace so expect him to be the go to man tonight, Sammy Watkins will be Orton main target again but Megatron struggled for space last week against the Miami secondary so he could be nullified. Could see a defensive battle here but hell I aint betting on no TD scored…now there is a thought

Lamar Miller is still worrying after a shoulder injury reduced his carries against the Lions in week 10, having less carries than Daniel Thomas and Damien Williams. So I’m ruling out any scorers from there.

Considering that we are assuming an unders game, and a tale of two stingy defenses, I can’t see either team running away with the game. So as long as either team wins by no more than 5 points the bet wins, even a tie as well. (That is correct isn’t it, I’m not being stupid?). As I said, very spare change as I just want to see what happens, obviously 5 points is an awkward number considering TDs give 6 and most likely 7 points, but with two tight defenses, field goals will hopefully come into play to help me out!

And the beat down from Federer arrives right on cue! I picked a great day to go to the O2. I went big on Roger to win the tourney a few games in @ 3/1 with a view to cash out when he reached the final. Nishikori’s excellent performance today makes that price look good, as if he can somehow compose himself and start well he has the game to run Djokovic close. Though he will probably get swatted aside like everyone else. But heavily behind Fed at 3/1 and less so behind Kei at 17/1 means I’ve got 2 of the 3 most likely winners covered for large profit. Just need Novak to pull a hammy now!

There are better matches on Sunday to get involved in for me, three points on this game I would make. It is a divisional rivalry, both these defences are in the top 6 in the league. Finally Buffalo has won the last 3 meetings.
It is only a small stakes game for me. The last meeting the majority of the points came in the 3rd quarter, and this looks a low scoring game, given that they will have gone hard at each other in the first half the second half maybe were this game gets won with defences tiring. Second half highest scoring half at 11/10 Bet365.
