BIRMINGHAM hosts tonight's latest action from the Betway Premier League and darts fans are welcome to put forward their tips and thoughts.

The night starts with Robert Thornton v Dave Chisnall then it's a big match between Raymond van Barneveld and Phil Taylor. The Dutchman sits second in the standings and will be well backed but hasn't beaten The Power in 19 Premier League meetings, drawing three.

Leader Michael van Gerwen should be involved in a cracker with Gary Anderson then it's Adrian Lewis v Peter Wright with the Scot favoured.

Taylor returns to the oche for the final match against Chisnall and should notch a win.

World Snooker continues with semi-final action – Ronnie O'Sullivan v Barry Hawkins and Mark Selby v Neil Robertson – from The Crucible.

There is rugby league, rugby union, tennis, cricket and golf to follow throughout the day and for US sports fans the highlight could be the ice hockey, Montreal at Boston, at 12.30am.

As usual put up your sports tips and chat here.

Mr. F, do you play darts? It’s a sport on the rise in Australia, there was a segment about it on TV recently. I’d like to hit 180 soon :)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Rustychest, I’ve never played darts seriously – pool would be my pub game of choice.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Mr. F, I’d take pool too. A pool table should be the centre item of all mancaves :)

    R. Van Barneveld v P. Taylor
    VAN BARNEVELD +2.5 legs 8/11

Double pays just over 9/4 coral

last week saw my first loser when Gary Anderson drew 6-6 after being 3-0 up
the first part of the double won

    • Mr bostock 10 years ago

Good work john. B Nice tips … Just for extra insurance i took +3.5 on both Anderson and van barnaveld Doh!

Stuck a wee treble on tonight’s darts.

Over 7.5 180’s in the Thornton v Chisnall match. Either of these players could cover that by themselves and the 11/10 on offer looks good.

I’ve also gone for Taylor to get over 2.5 180’s in both his games. First against Barney at 5/6 and then against Chisnall at 10/11. The Power has found his mojo again and has been in fine form the last few weeks and should cover the over 2.5 in both games.

£10 on the treble returns £73.50. Good luck if you choose to follow.

    • alva glen 10 years ago

That looks a good treb Bingo think I will have some of that !

  6. Hoosha 10 years ago

    Good night again Rusty :)

Can’t believe the a Raptors almost threw away their 18 point lead after the third quarter though, when I looked at the score I thought the bet was sailing in…
And the Giants held a two point lead or more for almost the whole game but the last innings did us again.

Very close to a clean sweep again though. Great job mate.

  7. tomh 10 years ago

Rustychest what you thinking on the NBA tonight, I have gone with:

    Pacers @ Hawks Over 186.5
    Clippers @ Warriors GWS +1.5

These play off games are very hard to call thou.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

tomh, the Clippers-Warriors series has become a bit of a minefield for bettors. I’d take Hawks to finish the series which would also mean the game is most probable to go over. Over 186.5 is a good bet.

  8. Jaseos 10 years ago

Didn’t realise there was a shiny new thread made. This is what I just put in the old one:

Apologies for the long post, please just ignore if you are not interested in baseball!

A few thoughts on tonight’s MLB action. Any opinions and pointers from Rusty or anyone, is much appreciated:

    ATL (Santana)@1.80 ML or -1.5 @2.30

Apart from a minor blip last time out, Santana has been lights-out this season and should look to continue this trend again tonight against Miami. Miami’s pitcher, Alverez, does not like facing the Braves. He faced them 4 times last season and Miami lost 3 of them (21 innings pitched, giving up 13 earned runs).

Let’s not forget that Atlanta are a superior team and in the last 2 games, have faced the best pitchers that Miami have – They will be really determined not to get swept against a divisional rival today!

    MIL (Estrada) ML @2.08

I know I slated the Brewers quite a bit yesterday but that was against one of baseball’s elite teams. Today they are in Cincinnati against my team, The Reds and Homer Bailey.

I have good inside knowledge of the Reds as I try to watch every game. At the moment they are not hitting well at all, with a terrible bullpen, due to injuries.

Bailey has it in him to be an all-star pitcher (he has 2 career no-hitters!!). However this season he has not pitched well at all. The good news for the Reds is that it is his location that is off and not his Stuff – he is middling too many key pitches.

Unless the Reds’ bats get hot, Bailey sorts his location and avoids using the ‘pen, there will only be one winner and @2.08, the Brew Crew look a decent prospect.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, I lined up ATL Braves as one of my probably bets tonight but decided to steer clear of the Reds game. I was also planning on riding KC Royals again as we take advantage of an ice cold struggling Blue Jays. I’m looking at Dodgers as my best bet.

In regards to baseball talk, I try to keep it as simple as possible here… they’re only just getting to know basketball talk :D

  9. honda 10 years ago

Rusty, could I have your e-mail please my good man :)

  10. Rustychest 10 years ago

    honda, what’s up?

I opened a temporary mail in order not to post my email public :) send to dcxfidq+d60noo@sharklasers.com and I’ll get in touch with my own.

  11. Recoba1980 10 years ago

Was let down last week for a nice treble myself Johnb. Wright,Van Barney n Anderson. Question his mentality at times.
Ill still Probably put my faith in him again though at nice price. Your handicap bet be the way to go am thinking an still good odds. :)

  12. honda 10 years ago

Rusty, an e-mail has been sent to said address

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

honda, sent using my email. Don’t laugh at my silly e-mail name. ;) Cheers

    • honda 10 years ago

      Rusty, that is hilarious :)

  13. Jaseos 10 years ago

    Thanks Rusty.

Looking around the boards on this site, if some of the main tipsters (yourself very much included) delved into the stats as they do for football, we would all be very rich followers!! Baseball is insanely stats based.

If you are going for KCR, then that is good enough for me! I was just concerned that the top of Toronto’s lineup will get to Guthrie as they have done throughout their careers against him. For me Guthrie is about as average as can be. If you lined up all the MLB pitchers in quality order, he would sit right, smack-bang in the middle!

If Bailey gets it right against the Brewers then the Reds will win but it’s a big “if”. He has only got it together once this season and think that the odds are the wrong way around on this game.

I will be looking for your picks before I make any decisions.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, Baseball is very stats based indeed, hence requiring months of observation. Alex is really good at stats number crunching I believe, but it doesn’t quite work like that for football so if he came into Baseball I think he would be World Famous haha :) I’ve already decided to skip KCR this time… I don’t like taking picks I keep going back and forth on. Dodgers are our money print tonight mate :)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Well, usually it doesn’t work for football anyway. ;)

  14. Recoba1980 10 years ago

Rustychest, ave been playing Darts on and off for a period of 10/12 years an i have still not hit a 180…most my mate have. But they play constantly and some are in teams. But over 10/12 years ave been midgies baw hairs away to many times to count. Long story short a would need to throw a hedgehog at the board for a 180. :P 1 DAY!

  15. Rustychest 10 years ago

    MLB 01/05:

    5* LA Dodgers /w Haren -1.5 RL (21/20)
    4* ATL Braves /w Santana -1.5 RL (5/4)

    NBA 01/05:

    4* OKC Thunder @ MEM Grizzlies – Over 185.0 (10/11)
    3* IND Pacers @ ATL Hawks – Over 186.5 (10/11)
    3* ATL Hawks ML (20/21)

    • Alex 10 years ago

Rusty – Is this LA Dodgers game the one that starts at 18:10 and is that UK time or US time?

      I’ve taken your 5* punt on -1.5

    • honda 10 years ago

      UK time ALEX :)

    • Alex 10 years ago

Fantastic! I can now watch the baseball and begin my ultimate quest to master the sport! Gimme one match and I’ll know…maybe one or two things.

      FOUL BALL!

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Alex, you’re quite an entertainer mate :P great team to start watching too. I got to watch Dodgers live twice for the opening season in Australia this season. MLB is trying to take the game worldwide and it was quite a hit with the crowd here. ;)

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

Alex – I hope you enjoy it because as Rusty said, if you take a shining to it and enjoy your stats, you will be in good position to make us all some money!

Rusty – I think it is a real pity that the UK has essentially rejected the sport (removing it for the first time ever from the olympics in 2012) and that apart from my infrequent trips the the US, rarely get a chance to have a ‘dog and a beer whilst soaking up the atmosphere. Fenway (Boston) is far and away the greatest sporting ground I have been to in terms of history, atmosphere and quirkiness (the Green Monster, look it up guys!) although I have never been to Wrigley.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Alex, it is indeed Dodgers Game 1 with Haren as starting pitcher. I think that comes to 18:10 UK time :)

  16. Hoosha 10 years ago

    Cheers Rusty :)

By the Dodgers game being the money print, does that mean increased stakes as opposed to the others?

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Nah mate, not this time. All equal stakes :)

    • Hoosha 10 years ago

Thanks Rusty, I’m enjoying betting on baseball :)

Over here the only chance we get to watch it is on BT Sport or ESPN but usually it’s overshadowed by the NBA playoffs and those games get preference.

Anyhow, keep up the good work. And great result for you last night, I must admit I didn’t see a 3-1 score line coming up, I saw maybe a 1-1 but incredible performance once again from Atletico I must say.

    • honda 10 years ago

And you have to stay up REALLY late :)

    • Hoosha 10 years ago

Veeeeeery true Honda. Usually my mates and I all gather at on of our houses every weekend and watch whatever US sport is on. After a lot of fifa mind you…

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

      Wish I had mates…..

    • honda 10 years ago

Raal, we are very much mates ;) If we lived closer together I’d pop round all the time :)

    • Hoosha 10 years ago

If you ever feel like ‘popping’ down to the depths of the Suffolk countryside, you’re very much welcome to join us Raal, or you Honda, or Rusty, or anyone in fact ha.

    • honda 10 years ago

If anyone is near Huddersfield, such as Manchester, Leeds etc. and don’t contact me I will be very disapointed ;)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Raal, wish I had mates too. They all sold me out :)

  17. Alex 10 years ago

Baseball huh? I used to hit a mean softball in school!

When the English football season ends, I might have a look at this.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Alex, I only ever had softball too :( haha… you should definitely take a look. Get your databases ready sir, I think you’ll rock it.

  18. Jaseos 10 years ago

Rusty. I was waiting until 365 put up the odds for the Dodgers game. -1.5 @1.95 is an absolute steal.

2 very solid picks for tonight there. I am going £10 on each (plus a £5 double) and £5 on Milwaukee. Win-win for me – if the Reds win, I’m happy and if they lose, I’ve more than doubled my money.

It is clear that you have very good MLB knowledge, are your basketball picks just as good because if so I will follow them blindly? Of the US sports, basketball is the one I know littlest about.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, Dodgers are indeed a steal! I really think I should call it at extra stakes. Agree?

In regards to basketball, we had a really solid week or two here post nba all-star break. I was posting trebles then though, I wish I had my singles plan before as the majority of the trebles lost by just a single selection and they covered the main line so I could have played them on the main lines too. The off-season is a different game though. Tread carefully in NBA play-offs you must :)

    • honda 10 years ago

      Agree ;)

  19. Rustychest 10 years ago

Alright, I played double the max stake on Dodgers /w Haren. I had to take it at 20/21 this time though… it dropped from 21/20 in just a few minutes. ;)

    • honda 10 years ago

So you have put double on that what you have put on the other baseball pick :)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

honda, I put 100 on each pick, so I just put another 100 on Dodgers Game 1.

    • honda 10 years ago

I know you have a small double on the baseball too ;)

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

Rusty do you mean 100 Pounds/Dollars/Euros!!!!! WOW, I thought I was pushing the boat out a bit, haha!

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

      Jaseos, Australian Dollars.

    • honda 10 years ago

      £54 Rusty ;)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

honda, my goodness has AUD has lost value… it was floating above USD just last year.

  20. Jaseos 10 years ago

    OK – Revised plan:

    LA Dodgers -1.5 @1.95 – £15
    Atlanta -1.5 @2.25 – £10

Double of the above – £5

    Milwaukee ML @2.04 – £5

I have just noticed that nobody talks about stakes. Is it something I shouldn’t mention? If so, I apologise.

    • honda 10 years ago

J man its entirely up to you :)

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

Cheers Honda, with Rusty bankrupting to bookies with his stakes, mine look like loose pennies!

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, you can mention whatever you like. Staking plans are cool. I just don’t like to post mine as I play… large… ;)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Jaseos, it’s up to you but I don’t encourage it because everyone can afford and bet with different sums.

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

Understood. I will just put up %’s next time

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

True Mr. F, I should always remember that. Delete my reply post to honda if you see fit. Cheers :)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, I just put some on Brewers as well. I won’t say let’s go Brew Crew though as Reds are your side. Speaking of which, what kind of impact is Simon’s situation having on your side do you think?

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

      That’s kind of you Rusty!

Simon is an interesting one. Latos has been missing all season which has obviously meant Simon has had to go into the rotation and has exceeded all expectations (and some!). When Latos eventually gets back, Simon will slot straight back into the bullpen where we desperately need him. And of course the Cuban Missile, Chapman is nearly back with his 105mph fastball. When the roster gets back to fitness the Reds should start to mix it with the big-boys again… hopefully.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, the lawsuit against Simon was worrying. I was planning on playing Reds that night as my main pick but I read about that and had to change my mind. However, he doesn’t appear too phased by it.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, I’m on the floor with your John Terry remark!! haha :D that’s good news for the Reds though. Off-field issues can sometimes have a negative impact as was the case with the Clippers.

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

Is that where the owner has been kicked out and fined millions for his racist remarks? Have they been terrible since?

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, the game following the scandal, the Clippers got blown out by the Warriors, but he was banned and they’ve been OK since. I called Warriors to take it as heavy underdogs that night, then post-ban I said they’ll be charged up emotionally and that was the case.

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

      Excellent. Psychology + stats = £££

  21. Hoosha 10 years ago

Jaseos I only ever play with stakes of £5, £10 or £20 as I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting £700 on something like others do. It’s just all about betting what you can afford.

I’m on each of Rusty’s picks with a tenner with the a Dodgers game double of that as the man himself has tipped.

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

Me too Hoosha. If I put more than £15-£20 on something I am bricking it the whole match making it very uncomfortable to watch.

  22. Max 10 years ago

Hoping the chief pops by and gives his thoughts on darts tonight !!

  23. thechief 10 years ago

Evening guys ST Helens v London Broncos

Thank goodness for the darts tonight, why Sky have this game live is beyond me. On paper it is a total mismatch Saints are 1/100 to win London 50/1 for the more adventurous.

As you can imagine with the game there is little value to find, Saints have to over 42pts and whilst they should do it, they could easily take their foot of the gas after a busy Easter period and allow London to sneak inside the handicap. London have lost all their 11 games this season, yet have led against big teams such as Wigan and Warrington. On both occasions they stayed inside the handicap. It is too risky for me.

Tommy Makinson is someone I always bet on to score he is 1/5 tonight, so you see the problem in finding value. However Saints hooker James Roby looks good value at 11/8 Ladbrokes. He hasn’t yet reached the heights of previous seasons but is always a live wire near the opposition try line and Saints should visit that quite regularly tonight.

In football it is always easier to find value in the underdogs scorer like (Wickham 6/1 v Chelsea) so looking at the London side it maybe worth a small punt on Mike McMeeken. The second rower has three tries in ten games for a struggling side and Saints have struggled to contain second rowers running out wide. Wigan’s Liam Farrell scored two against them on good Friday and plays same role as McMeeken. He is worth a small stake punt at 8/1 Ladbrokes.

    ROBY TO SCORE 11/8
    McMEEKEN TO SCORE 8/1

Good luck if your having a bet

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

      Cheers chief :)

    • jake92 10 years ago

chief, tommy makinson is a good friend of mine we went to school together and we were in the same form.. genuine top lad worked hard to get where hes at and is always well up for scoring, i have a punt on him every time hes on the team sheet!

      never lets you down!

    • thechief 10 years ago

Jake92, I think he is a real talent, I normally back him to score but couldn’t tonight not at those odds. Wasn’t surprised to see him score. Wouldn’t surprise me too see him playing for England in the four nations down under.

  24. honda 10 years ago

Looking forward to your views on the darts Chief :)

  25. thechief 10 years ago

    Thornton v Chisnall

It is must win for Chisnall who takes on Taylor last on tonight. He played well against Van Gerwen although for me MVG has gone of the boil slightly with too many lose legs. Thornton cant make the semis so is playing for place money and pride. He has no pressure on him and that makes in dangerous. Chisnall won the reverse fixture 7-5 and another close game looks on the cards. I always go for both players to win 5 legs at 11/10 with the sponsors Betway but they have cut the odds now to evens, but I will still be on. They both hit 4 maximums in their previous encounter and Chisnall leads the league in maximums hit with 51. The line is set at 7.5 and I think it will go over that at 6/5 Boyles.

BOTH PLAYERS TO WIN 5 LEGS 1/1
    OVER 7.5 MATCH 180s 6/5

    BARNEVELD V TAYLOR

These two old foes meet square off again, and Barney almost ended his winless run earlier in the season but could only manage a draw. He has qualified for the semis so their is not a lot of pressure on him and a win over Taylor makes it harder for Taylor to qualify and give RVB a huge boost heading into finals night. Taylor is coming home like a train in the second half of the campaign. He slipped up last week against Anderson but had control of the game before amazingly bursting a 129 checkout. I wouldn’t be surprised if RVB snatches a draw especially throwing first, however both to win 5 legs appeals at 6/5 with the sponsors Betway.

One other bet I like in this match is Barneveld Checkout line. I did this last week and will do it again. He tops the league in checkout percentages and yet is line is set at 96.5 at Coral. I can only assume they think he wont win many legs but I disagree and to say he cant hit at least a ton with 3 darts in hand, I cant have it. Over 96.5 at 5/6 is my bet of the night.

BOTH TO WIN 5 LEGS 6/5
RVB O96.5 CHECKOUT 5/6 (BEST BET)

    Lewis v Wright

Since winning the UK open Aidy Lewis form has disappeared, his scoring power as also deserted him and he doesn’t look quite right. Wright form as slipped a little recently and he has Anderson and Taylor chasing him down. I mentioned weeks ago he was doing no favours changing his darts all the time but last week went back to the darts that took him to the world final and he seemed to be back to his best especially his scoring. I think he will cover his 180 line which is set at 2.5 at 13/8 Skybet.

    WRIGHT O2.5 MATCH 180s 13/8

There still hasn’t been a nine darter in the premier league, but with MVG taking on Anderson and Taylor playing twice tonight maybe the night. It is 9/1 with the sponsors Betway.

Good luck if your having a bet

  26. thechief 10 years ago

Cheers guys here hoping for a profitable night :-)
    check back in later!

  28. Alex 10 years ago

Rusty – How do you assess the Dodgers game as it stands? Are we in a good position for the -1.5?

    • honda 10 years ago

Yes, silly mistakes in the 1st inning by Dodgers, if they cut that out, it should be good :)

      I think :)

    • Alex 10 years ago

honda – Went and chucked the neighbour’s piggy bank cash on this.

      I NEED THIS BET. ;)

    • honda 10 years ago

Hope you return the piggy bank amount after the game ;)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Alex, well in for the -1.5 RL. Pelfrey’s poor, poor pitching continues in this game. Twins got those two runs by a defensive error but they picked it up in the second innings.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

      *they=we. Twins pitcher doesn’t get strikeouts. ;)

    • honda 10 years ago

How deep did you go into the RL Rusty for a small stake? :)

  29. Rustychest 10 years ago

honda aka stalker, -2.5 Run Line small stakes. Haha ;)

    • honda 10 years ago

      Haha sweet ;)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

yeah, it’s not much… if I went any deeper and didn’t tell you, you’d bite my head off :)

    • honda 10 years ago

Haha its all love rusty all love :)

  30. misafir 10 years ago

Rusty usta, are you backing darts? After the cash which Atletico gave me I am ready to back every b.k :D

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

misafir, I don’t know what b.k means but Chief’s tips shouldn’t be passed by. He’s the man :)

    • misafir 10 years ago

b.k means bok, it is just the signal of the readiness for adventure :)

Ps DeAndre come back on board with your banter!

  32. burt 10 years ago

Chief son, great start to the neet. I enjoy looking at your tips more than the darts walk on birds tips ;)

  33. Bingo 10 years ago

The Thorn is a 180 machine. Covered the over 7.5 at 11/10 all by himself. If he could finish better he’d take some beating. C’mon the Power on the over 2.5 180’s!!! Good luck Alva mate. Hopefully it comes in for us.

  34. Alex 10 years ago

    Dodgers coming on stronnnnnng :D

    HOME RUN!

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

Haha, is this the first game you have bet/watched Alex? What do you think?

    • Alex 10 years ago

I have never watched a game no. I’ve only been dipping in and out of it tbh as I’m mainly watching the Champions League Minor Soccer match-up ;)

      I’m enjoying it because I’m winning :P

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

It’s always better when you are winning money. I’ve got the Juve match on the TV and the Dodgers game on the laptop… The Mrs must be thinking “what a catch!”

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, I have the Juve match on TV and the Dodgers game on laptop too haha ;) no Mrs for me though.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Alex, wait until you see your first walk off grand slam. Check out this recent play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDAEHhPRLsU it’s quite phenomenal. :)

    • honda 10 years ago

I quite enjoy it, also enjoy watching basketball, but find basketball incredibly frustrating to bet on at times :)

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

I can imagine how annoying basketball can be if you have money on it since scores can change in the blink of an eye.

I said earlier that I don’t know basketball really and have never bet on it but if our man, Rusty, is as good as he is with the baseball, then there must be more good days than bad!

Cover is easy now for anyone who wants to in the Dodgers game (MIN +1.5 runs @6.50). I doubt it would be needed but you never know in baseball!

  36. burt 10 years ago

  41. johnb 10 years ago

Pity about Anderson last week but tonights double makes it 4 winners out of 5

honda, I’ll be going deeper and deeper into the RL soon just to entertain Kendog ;)

  45. johnb 10 years ago

Yeah Gary Anderson looked good & with the form he is in he could be a decent bet at 9/1 to win premier league

  46. Kendog 10 years ago

Hehe Rusty, you go as deep as it takes Bro , just keep pulling those winners out of the bag and we’ll all book a trip to Oz and visit you!

    Atp Oeiras

Gustao Elias d Victor Hanescu @6/5

I watched Elias play Garcia Lopez today, one of the hottest clay court player on tour, fully expecting Lopez to win, but Elias brushed him aside with ease In the end. The crowd was absolutely buzzing and home advantage really seemed to help him up his game to an awesome level. He then went on to defeat Lopez and partner jn the doubles, again as underdogs.

Elias is 23-12 for the season, Hanescu is 10-11, but he did beat carreno busta today which suggests his level may be good enough this week to make this a close match, but I really think after watching him play today the home advantage will spur Elias to another victory against a lesser opponent than he dismissed today

Thanks Chief got on wright over 2.5!

I hate it when Taylor rattles in 2 treble 20’s then switches to treble 19. Especially when I needed him to get 1 more 180 in each of his games…

  52. chaz 10 years ago

    Took johnb’s darts handicap double

also had Grimsby game bts and la dodgers -1.5 that was tipped on here as a double, coral had that as lost until I called them up as well. Madness

I then lumped that on benfica to qualify at around 90 minutes in.

If only llorente could have scored I’d have had another 5 fold up for £650.

Big follower of the site, hope everyone else had as good a night as I had.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

chaz, they can’t change your bet.

  53. chaz 10 years ago

Maybe just a an issue with the system, either way I called them up and all my winning bets got settled. All good

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

chaz, good to hear – no kosher bookie will alter your bet although mistakes can be made in settling.

Great night of darts tonight, and even better with some winners. 5 out 5 landed :) I don’t like using terms such as certs or bankers but sometimes the bookies can price up a market up wrong, and I was pleased to see Barney take out the 118 as the O96.5 checkout was my best bet, and hopefully naming it as my best bet of the night showed the confidence I had in it.

    Thornton v Chisnall

BOTH PLAYERS TO WIN 5 LEGS 1/1
    OVER 7.5 MATCH 180s 6/5

    BARNEVELD V TAYLOR

BOTH TO WIN 5 LEGS 6/5
RVB O96.5 CHECKOUT 5/6 (BEST BET)

    Lewis v Wright

    WRIGHT O2.5 MATCH 180s 13/8

Those were the advised bets on the darts tonight, and delighted they were all winners and good odds too :-)

  55. thechief 10 years ago

Jamie G, Honda, Burt cheers guys makes it a decent start to the bank holiday weekend, got to make sure not to give it all back now :)

Leeds v Wigan sky sports KO 8pm

This is a clash of the titans between super league leaders Leeds facing reigning champions Wigan. Leeds are the odds on favourites at 4/7. Wigan are getting 6pts start on the handicap 4/5 at Betfred.

Leeds have won 3 out the last five against Wigan, and are unbeaten at home this season. Rob Burrow will miss this game for the Rhino’s. Wigan head into the game unbeaten in five games but with injuries to Josh Charnely, Iain Thornley, Ben Flower and Eddy Pettybourne

On Good Friday I took Wigan to end St Helens unbeaten start to the season, and I will be doing the same here. Leeds are really tough to score against and their back line is the best in super league. Wigan just win big games that is what they do, yes they have injuries but it is a case of next man up. They beat the Rhinos in last years playoffs and I think the value lies with the Warriors tonight on the handicap and to win straight up at 8/5 Unibet.

I think this could be deja vu, as I like the same bets as I did when Wigan beat Saints on Good Friday. Wigan even without try machine Josh Charnley still have their main creative players in the middle of the park to create scoring opportunities. Over 3.5 tries is 11/10 Paddy Power.

WIGAN +6 TO BEAT LEEDS 4/5
    WIGAN TO BEAT LEEDS 8/5
    WIGAN O3.5 TRIES 11/10

Good luck if your having a bet

  57. Jaseos 10 years ago

Well, Atlanta let us down by getting swept by Miami, despite arguably their best pitcher starting. A frustrating 1-run loss, despite being ahead twice in the game, it happens!

The Reds cost me a fiver by beating the Brewers but I’m not too downhearted about that! Bailey pitched reasonably well and the Brewers blew up in the 8th.

However, despite losing the ATL game, the double and the Brewers game, I only lost very little thanks to Rusty’s advice to go bigger on The Dodgers.

3 losses out of 4 bets and only a tiny loss – gotta love baseball odds!

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, don’t you just love it? Pretty much broke even thanks to the Dodgers double.

I was going to wait until Cardinals odds came up on the RL but I decided to just take it now on the ML… It’s a must play… Cardinals + Mariners look like sure bets tonight.

      MLB Picks 02/05

      5* Play of the Day:
      SD Padres /w Cashner -1.5 RL (29/20)

      5* Delicious Double:
      SEA Mariners /w Hernandez -1.5 RL (5/6)
STL Cardinals /w Wainwright ML (100/163)
      Pays 2/1

    • honda 10 years ago

Rusty, are these all of today’s plays, 2 singles? Also, have you got more on the play if the day, is already at lucrative odds :)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

honda, I recommend even stakes, but I’ll also be waiting ’til Cardinals and other odds are up before playing them deep into the RL as part of a 4-fold yankee.. I missed playing that.. haven’t had the pick count to go for it otherwise it’s been very profitable :) I’ll let you know who the 4th pick is right after :)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Jaseos, looking forward to your views on today’s games. Hernandez v Peacock is such an unbalanced match-up. A very Haren v Pelfrey -esque match-up from last night’s game it looks to be.

  58. Rustychest 10 years ago

The -1.5 RL for Padres at 29/20 confuses me. Padres don’t bat that bad, I think Cashner gets the bat support tonight against a very weak Arroyo on the mound.

    • honda 10 years ago

Rusty, Perez did quite good last night in the Dodgers game, I enjoyed watching that last night. Thanks for last nights tips :) Any pitcher out of form sign me up to bet against them ;) There is also a game involving the cardinals, any tips on that and I will be watching ;)

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

honda, I will be playing Cardinals -1.5 RL as soon as it’s up. Perez did indeed close the game really well. It was clear the Dodgers wanted to end the series with that game. I enjoyed watching it and noticed my eye was on that more than the Europa League game.

  59. Jaseos 10 years ago

Rusty – That indeed is 3 mismatched games. It is difficult to see anything but wins. Three decent teams with their Aces on the mound against 3 teams with less than 10 wins each this season… that money printing machine is cranking up!

Seattle w/Hernandez -1.5, does appear to be a dead cert and would be my #1 choice for the day.

The other 2 picks Cards and San Diego are both opposing former Reds so I have a bit of insight. Firstly, Travis Wood. I was really annoyed when the Reds traded him for an outfielder who barely reached the majors (Dave Sappelt I think??). He is a good lefty-pitcher with good command and not a bad bat either… However, the Cubs stink and Wainwright is a machine. Cards win -1.5 for sure.

Arroyo against SD is interesting. I was always conflicted with how I felt about him during his years in a Reds uniform. His velocity barely touches 90 so if his command is off, or he isn’t quite right, he will get lit-up for double digits. Right now he is not right (back issues I think) so opposing Cashner can only result in one outcome. But… he is a fly-ball pitcher and San Diego is a pitcher’s paradise with acres in the outfield. He might (just might) get through 6/7 innings with only a couple of ERs. Most likely not though.

I hope that helps a little.
