AFTER Wednesday's disaster with Red Bull it was nice to land the Super Single on Thursday.
I backed Bruges at 1-1 to see off Chaleroi in the Belgian play-offs and they made me sweat by winning 3-2 after I refused to cover at 2-0 and 3-1.
The Top Treble was well thought out but didn't trap as Malmo failed to score against a Hacken side who always seem to give them trouble. It was the same case with Fenerbahce who were hammered 3-0 at home to Bursaspor while Anderlecht slipped up at Kortrijk.
There are plenty of games to look at on Friday including League of Ireland and lower-league encounters in Italy, German and France.
As usual my focus is on Saturday's Daily Record column but I've managed to pick out a goals treble – I don't have time to put up the reasoning so check out the stats if you're not sure.
Now that my Record columns for the weekend are written I've had some time to hunt down a Super Single. I thought about Dundalk at St Pat's but while the visitors look a good bet on current form the concensus from Irish tipsters is it's too close to call.
So instead I'm focusing on another Irish game and when you look at the stats it's difficult to understand why Bohemians v Bray is as big as 13-8 for both teams to score. Bray have had some problems this season and conceded 20 goals in four games before shocking St Pat's 1-0 last time out.
They should be revitalised for a trip to Bohemians and while it's hard to see them keeping another clean sheet there is every chance they can score having done so on their previous six trips to face the Dublin outfit. Bray have netted in their last three games at Drogheda, Dundalk and Sligo so pose a threat on the road even if they can't keep pigeons out a close.
Bohemians aren't prolific scorers but have netted in four of their last five at home so should hit the target.

Stats are stats lads. I just take them how I see them. Then theirs some geniuses who can pick a BTTS at. 5/6 when the home team hasn’t scored in 270 mins of home football, I’m not crawling up anyone’s arse, but I’d never put a tip like that up in a million years because I eat stats for breakfast :P

Why are Frosinone 8/1 to beat Vicenza? Vicenza’s form is questionable with no wins in 4 games whilst Frosinone’s form is very green, they’re unbeaten in 8 and won in 6 of those.
Obviously there’s the Vicenza incentive to hold on to 3rd whilst Frosinone have secured 2nd and Frosinone’s away form doesn’t compare to their home form but DNB at 6/1 worth a punt?

WDW in Ireland look tough to call tonight. Force me to plump for anyone and it would be Derry or Galway. I wwnt to oriel Park last Friday night and was impressed by Derry’s organisation. They proper troubled Dundalk and had two very good penalty claims before Dundalk finally scored.
Galway are a team worth looking out for I reckong and they could well beat Drogheda tonight. 13 goals in 4 league games they are defo capable of a few goals. Drogheda have had a heavy fixture list too so if I had to plump for one it would be Galway. We might get some tasty priced on them in upcoming games against bigger clubs soon. keep an eye out.

Both teams with lots to play for. Horn need the win to keep their chances alive to avoid relegation Liefering on the other hand need the win to stay in the running for promotion. Who will be the victor? It’s a tough call. H2H from the last 7 meetings all see both teams scoring with 1 draw and wins for Liefering, but looking at form and the bookies pricing the win leans towards Horn. I can’t decide, I personally am a stats person and in this case stats are in favour of Liefering. No worries mate. I’ll try to explain briefly so not to take up along post.
Liability is 12 bets, so for ease let’s say £120 bank so that would be £10 per bet.
The reason it’s 12 is to cover when it goes backwards as there will be losers and to cover multiple bets at the same KO time.
The system delivers about 70% win rate after months of testing and the max – has been -3 in this time.
So if that makes sense, then your first bet (in the case is £10). If it wins you are +1 and loses -1, you keep doing this until you reach about +12 or to be exact £240 bank . Then raise the stake to £20, start at 0 again and go again until you reach £360 then raise to £30 per bet and so on and so on.
All I can say is that it’s slow, take patience and commitment but does mean once you have your initial bank you won’t need to deposit again.
What’s imperative is the same stakes in each bet and a success rate of over 50% ( not daily or weekly of course as this a long term project)
As I said Rob and I have dry and live tested our picks and are at 70% win rate from inception since January (live in Feb)
Not going to be crude to tell you where rob and I stake now but if you are good a maths and at about 2-3 bets a day you can probably calculate this yourself

The best I think I can explain is your bank divide by 12 is your stake
Keep betting the same stake
Make sure you achieve 50% + win rate on your tips
Count each too wo as +1 or -1
When you get to +12 (and this depends on the odds you are betting on) +12 is evens which is near to where my bets are, so when you are +12 or actually £240 (if you start at £10 per bet) then you now double your stake.
Keep going this every time you achieve the right bank to allow you to double your stake , (which is whatever double your stake is *12)
Not sure if that makes sense, if not get my email addy from Mr F and I’ll take you through it 1-2-1 so we don’t clog the thread up

I’m sure Simon will be able to add more but no, it’s not a martingale system.
What Simon has described is a brilliant graduated staking scheme (I say that as someone with a BSc in Maths and Statistics and post graduate qualifications in Statistics including Bayesian events).
In essence what Simon is describing a betting bank with 12 slices. Once you make 12 more slices you then increase the value of each slice. The beauty of his system is you never lose more than 3 slices (1/4 of your bank) and the value of the bank goes up over time (as, over time, do the value of your bets and returns).
The martingale is much different (and is a very easy way to lose money if you’re not careful – I wouldn’t recommend it at all). With the martingale you double you stake if you lose (and risk losing twice as much). With this method you increase your stake once you’ve made twelve more slices.
There are lots of other considerations to take into account (e.g. the odds are often just less than evens etc so you dont double your bank by making 12 slices) but the key lies with Simon’s high hit rate and his tolerance to sustain several losing bets in a row without busting his bank.
Quite simply it’s a great staking plan and whilst you won’t get rich quickly at the start, I can estimate the value of each ‘slice’ now and with that hit rate Simon will be making pretty decent returns.
I think the ingredients of his method are simple. Discipline, simple single bets and patience.

The staking is the easy part. If you work on where you want to be this time in 3 years, not tomorrow. And you have ability to remain committed to the plan.
If you bet for fun, to make the day pass quicker, to make a game more exciting (there is nothing wrong with any of these at all) then you may struggle with it.
For me , I don’t really like betting and don’t get any buzz or enjoyment from it, the opposite in fact, the only reason I do is that I make money from it so I do it.
The hard bit and what’s taken me a very long time is to develop something that delivers over 50% consistency.
I do not believe this so possible with WDW due to the 33% probability mathematics and the low odds on stats based winners or goals , albeit it probability is 50% is better Tempe weighing on games for missing players, motivation and again odds leads me to believe 50% + is not possible
(Again not saying anyone is wrong betting on these markets and not saying my reasoning is correct – it’s just my subjective view that’s all)
We found corners provides the odds needed for singles and you can work out over and under based more on corners, number of dangerous attacks, formations pitch size with tend to remain more constant that team line ups etc.
As I said, it could be complete rubbish , but we have found our research delivers 70% over a calendar month for the last 5 months so we believe both the picks and the way we stake will continue to profit a growing bank and our stake doubles approx 2-3 times a month

If you ever want to take the modelling forward and want to throw another brain at it then let me know. I haven’t, for a while, done much modelling work (and all of my experience is with OR and business system modelling – stuff how to resource a supermarket to maximise throughput etc) but I’ve done some private work although never really managed to nail it in as much detail as you have. Corners is a good market for the reasons you mentioned (and I hadn’t considered all of those factors).
I understand the dilemma having 9 from 12 bets running too – still, you have the win ratio on your side mate (not that makes it any less daunting for 2 hours!)

The question as always been for us, is 12 enough , this was raised when we sat recently on a new level on a Saturday at -3 and 9 bets to place, fortunately some were evening so we could stagger and ended the day +3 but for a moment (3pm precisely) on that Saturday we did wonder about the number 12.
If anything, that’s that , which concerns me the most here.
Currently this cycle we are +3 so it’s not an immediate concern at present

That’s an interesting question for several reasons and hard to answer without knowing how you make your choices (i.e. evaluating the decision making criteria). It may be an option to stager how you increase the value of each of the 12 ‘slices’ when you reach +12 so in essence you have reserves to start another round if 12 was ever not enough (I dont think I’ve explained that well but I think you’ll understand what I mean).
My only advice from experience of other modelling is that its an iterative process which gets better with every cycle and the ‘tinkering’ should get less and less as time goes on as you should be able to predict the most losing sequences you get in a row. The fact you play the asian market also reduces your risk (a 0 is better than a -1 and I’d take that any day as it’s about minimising losses to me).
As you say, this cycle is +3 so hopefully not a concern at this point but the reserves might be an option to consider – that said my whole approach is about minimising losses so I’m prepared to take less reward to reduce losses, your risk profile may be slightly different (although I have a feeling we may well operate with very similar objectives – 3/5 year plans rather than thinking about end of day positions).

Plus uv got an insight of how the game is panning out. Now I have some knowledge with this system. And not the silly up and down systems I do. Trying to get rich quick. Unfortunately we have found only 3 markets for overs deliver the % we need and 3 for Unders , only 2 of them are whole numbers so the void is few and far between.
We are dry testing a HT bet also which is currently failing for overs and profitable for Unders but not at the % needed so there is still development needed before we start a live run.

Only 2 days in lol but plan to do this for the long game.
The beauty in this method is you start with £120 and thats your risk regardless of what may happen.
You can start at whatever level if you committed a higher starting bank.
I still think there should be some more reserves built up over time to increase the 12 slices over time but wouldnt have a clue how you factor that in or if you need to.

Dave Wiseman, it’s a good method and I will give it a go myself as I’ve been trickling losses over the past year, but I’ve noticed that goals are becoming more sparse and difficult to predict recently. I’m no conspiracy theorist but at the end of the day it’s us v the bookies and they have more money + connections, just saying.

I need the structure and discipline this system demands.
Despite the system you still need the winning bets and I am happy to follow one bet type for this period and that is Simons and Gills rob corner bets.

It’s not us v the bookies. It’s even a competition with then. They will always win as they just their odds to do so, ie horses, whatever horse wins, 99 times out of 100 the bookies win. It’s just a question of how much they win from each event.
The challenge is you vs you.
Can you pick 6/7 winners out of 10 consistently at evens
Can you keep to level stakes
Can toy read the stats to see where the opportunities lay
Can you create and stick to a system and not bet on all the tips you come accross
Can you not bet for 3 days because your system doesn’t pick a value tip
Can you leave the bet alone with hits 99% of the things you look for but not 100%
If you can mate, the. You are winning the battle

All a word of warning before I hit the pillow (the boy will be awake at 5 now doubt)
